Off to a Good Start in 2024

Solid Start to the New Year:

We fared reasonably well in our first trading session of 2024 yesterday, despite having no earnings reports to inspire our options candidates of the day. We expect things on that front to be similarly dry moving forward, with few big-name reporters slated to drop figures in the first couple weeks of this new year. As always, we’ll still do everything we can to find other opportunities in the meantime.

As for yesterday’s ideas, here were the daily performance numbers on the four potential plays in our premarket report, the MARA Weekly $26-27 Calls, the COIN Weekly $175-177.50 Calls, the AMD Weekly $145-144 Puts, and the VYGR 11/19 $10-12.50 Calls:

Good Start to Holiday Week, 3 New Ideas

Solid Start to a Short Week:

We were pleased to kick off the first of two consecutive 4-day holiday trading weeks with good form yesterday. It is a challenging time of year to continue to root out good intraday opportunities, but we managed to do just that.  Our premarket report consisted of just a pair of potential plays, and in both cases, we were happy to observe multi-bag runs in all of our highlighted contract sets.

Our daily interests were the SPY 12/26 $473-474 Calls, and the INTC Weekly $48.50-49.50 Calls, and here were the upswings they recorded for the session:

Midweek Updates, Trio of New Ideas

Midweek Options Recaps:

We offered up a pair of short term and a pair of longer term ideas in our premarket report yesterday, and as is pretty typical, we saw some good movement out of the weekly plays, and not so much instant gratification from those that expire next month. We usually gravitate to those kind of ideas during earnings low periods, and we certainly have been short on big name reporters this week. But we’ll continue to monitor those interests into October, and keep trying to point out whatever looks best to us on a daily basis.

As for yesterday’s weekly plays, which were the CBRL Weekly $70-75 Calls and the BUR Weekly $17.50-15 Puts, we observed the following intraday trading activity and gain potential:

CBRL Weekly $70-75 Calls
$70:
 3.00-4.20 (+40%)
$75: 1.09-2.66 (+144%)
_____

BUR Weekly $17.50-15 Puts
$17.50:
 1.63-1.93 (+18%)
$15: .05-.10 (+100%)

Fresh Options:
SMTC Weekly $22-23 Calls
SPY 09/14 $447-448 Calls
BABA Weekly $87-89 Calls

Extended Watchlist:
AVTX, FWBI, GMBL, RNAZ, KITT, NVOS, NAVB, NLST, YCRM, CNBX
