Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GWPH, GRNH Updates & More

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

Yesterday morning, we suggested our readers pay attention to the activity in GWPH, which had just published a blockbuster PR regarding top-line success in a late-stage trial of a cannabis-derived treatment (>>View PR).

The breakthrough nature of the study caught many people’s eyes, and throughout the course of the day’s news cycle, the story got significant national attention from multiple media outlets.

As we’d mentioned in our premarket report yesterday, we were going to do some cherry-picking, waiting for the gap-up to lead to an early dip (which it did), and then track in-the-money calls. To give an idea of the sort of scenario that was possible, the GWPH $75 Calls ran from 7.70-16.70 (+116%)

We’ll continue monitoring in-the-money calls in the $75-85 range, and if GWPH appears to want to break $90, consider rolling our strike price up to that level.

GreenGro Technologies, Inc. GRNH

The national attention cast upon GW Pharma also brought some nice activity into other cannabis-related plays, and GRNH was one of them. We’ve got an established history of tracking this stock that stretches back for years. A search of our archive shows that this morning marks the 35th occasion on which we’ve mentioned the stock.

The most recent of those mentions came this past Wednesday, when we tagged it in our morning watchlist, after which time we observed a low of .02.

Yesterday, the stock rode the wave of attention for the sector to an impressive 62% rip as it ran from .0215-.0349. It also marked a total swing of 74% over the low we witnessed last week.

Added Note: We prepared a list of some other marijuana stocks to monitor more closely in the light of heightened investor awareness of the sector:  CANV, CBDS, CANN, CNBX

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review, Other Updates

Options Review

Just to refresh our readers’ memories, we highlighted a range of call contracts for three separate plays on Friday, and we’re pleased to report that sizable gains were there for the taking regardless of which idea was chosen. It marked the continuation of a flawless streak of such ideas that we offered up over the past few weeks.

Our tracked calls and the magnitude of the gains that were available were as follows:

SPDR S&P 500 (SPY) Weekly $199-202 Calls – We’ve successfully played the SPY so many times it doesn’t even bear counting, and Friday was no different. From the low end of our range to the high, gains of 80-427% were made.

Finisar Corp FNSR Weekly $15 and $16 Calls – An earnings beat made the gains in FNSR calls possible, with the $15’s running 88%, and the $16’s making a 92% upswing.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. ULTA  Weekly $175-185 Calls –  Last but not least, we had the ULTA contracts on our watchlist bank gains running from 59-117%

Again, it was yet another great week for options, and we’ll be doing everything in our power to keep the streak alive with some more ideas this week so be sure to stay tuned!

Friday’s Stock Gainers

In addition to our great success with options plays from Friday’s morning report, we had a number of other intraday movers which were also highlighted.

Propanc Health Group Corp. PPCH

This was our top-billed mention on Friday, having been following it for most of last week. A string of solid performances led the stock on a great intraweek run to that point which spanned from our observed low of .0188 to .037 (+97%) in just a few sessions.

We saw even more gains tacked on there during Friday’s trading, wherein we witnessed another nice intraday pop from the daily low of .0355 to .0516 (+45%), and the high extended our total observed range to an impressive 174% in a matter of four sessions.

_____

Mexus Gold US (MXSG)

Mexus was another point of discussion in Friday’s newsletter, and it too saw appreciable gains on the day.

We’d already been very familiar with the stock after tracking over a more than 1000% move in early February. We then re-tagged it the Wednesday before last and subsequently witnessed a 61% swing from .011-.018.

Friday’s session brought a continuation of that run from .017 to a high of .0299, a 71% intraday rip, and increased the total swing range to 172%

_____

Spectrascience, Inc. SCIE

SCIE was included in Friday’s tracklist and the stock would end up trading in a range from .003 to .0047, for total possible intraday gains of up to 56% on slightly heavier than normal volume.

It also managed to close just a tick below the high of day, so we’ll keep an eye peeled for the possibility of momentum spillover into this new trading week.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

We want to pin GWPH to our tracklist after catching a significant PR coming across the wires this morning. Late-stage studies on a cannabidiol (CBD) treatment of a rare pediatric disease has yielded positive results, and the stock has thus far gapped up over 100% in the premarket.

We’ll take our classic stance of monitoring for a possible dip-and-rip situation and look to get positioned in some in-the-money Calls, dependent upon where the bounce occurs.

LONDON, March 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GW Pharmaceuticals plc (GWPH) (GWP.L) (“GW,” “the Company” or “the Group”), a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing novel therapeutics from its proprietary cannabinoid product platform, announces the positive results of the first pivotal Phase 3 study of its investigational medicine Epidiolex® (cannabidiol or CBD) for the treatment of Dravet syndrome. Blue Horseshoe Stocks: The Week in Review

Looking Back on a Stellar Week

We couldn’t have asked for a better week of winning picks, especially coming off of a holiday weekend, so to wrap things up we’re going to go over all of our successful picks, and what kinds of moves they made.

GEI Global Energy Corp. GEIG

Of course the big winner for this week was GEIG, and in fact was one of our most successful picks in quite some time. We initiated coverage of GEIG on Wednesday, the stock opened up and saw a low of .0098 very briefly before exploding to a high of .08, a single-session move of 716% While it’s unlikely that traders could have picked up any of those sub-penny shares, the real action began around .015, still leaving the opportunity at a high number, with gains of up to 433% being very possible. The stock traded record volume.

Camtek, Ltd. CAMT

CAMT came off of Monday’s extended watchlist to perform exceptionally well for us, running from a low of 3.42 to 5.14, a solid 50% gainer on more than 40x its 3-month average volume.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

On Tuesday, we were talking about GWPH, stating: “Once we see a solid level of support established and GWPH begins to rebound, then we’ll be able to adjust our options-trading strategies accordingly.” Sure enough, the stock did indeed find solid support at 85.32. We would subsequently see an uptrend carry GWPH as high as 93.97. As a result, the $85 Weekly Calls traded in an impressive range from 4.30 to 9.60, a total possible gain of 123% while the $90 Calls made an even more impressive move. They would run from 1.55-5.69, giving traders a chance at profits up to 267% We’ll continue to watch those weekly contracts today for a possible intraday flip opportunity.

American Apparel, Inc. APP

This spring, we started reminding people that as the retail season approaches, APP is a stock that we traditionally play for nice gains every year. 2014 has proven no different. We saw a low of .51
out of APP on June 24th, and the stock has made more than a 100% move up, touching 1.05 during yesterday’s session. The retail season has yet to even kick into gear, and already we’ve been able to reap some excellent rewards from this retail stock; it will certainly remain on our watchlist as the summer begins to wind down.

Inception Mining, Inc. IMII

We first added IMII to our lists yesterday as a long term-mining play. We wanted the stock to hold support off of the 200DMA, and break resistance at the 50DMA, and that’s just what we got. The stock has made higher lows and higher highs over the past couple of sessions, so it appears we’re off to a great start with this one. On the chart, the RSI cracked above the 50-line, and the MACD is still heading for a bullish cross, so we’re still very interested to see what this play could do in the days and weeks ahead.
