Options Gains, Fresh Ideas & More

Options Review:

As we cruise right past the halfway point of this holiday shortened week, we’re heading into another period of an exceptionally meager earnings calendar. It will be more than a month before we begin to see a plethora of daily reporters, but as always we will strive our hardest to bring you quality ideas on a daily basis.

Yesterday we managed to hit on three of our four sets of new ideas, with the fourth being longer-term October calls that will need some time to realize their potential. Our successful targets were the PATH 09/17 $65-55 Puts, the COUP Weekly $265-275 Calls, and the KFY 09/17 $70-80 Calls. We got some really nice intraday activity out of each of those plays.

Here were the total moves and possible gains for traders who were on top of our alerts:

Extended Watchlist:

Cannabis Stock Explosion in Progress

Aphria, Inc. APHA – Options Recap

Our sole point of focus in terms of fresh options plays in yesterday morning’s premarket report, was a tight range of calls in the APHA chain on the heels of the company’s earning report- the APHA Weekly $10-11 Calls to be exact. Despite a down day for the markets at large, we saw this cannabis stock buck the trend on the strength of increased price targets relating to the company’s impending merger with Tilray, Inc. TLRY, another pot stock with which we’ve had some experience in the past.

The gains on our target contracts for the day yesterday were quite impressive as you’ll see below, but based on the premarket activity we’re observing this morning, we expect the following ranges and total possible gains to explode at the open today.  Read on to find the expanded set of targets that we’re going to formulate for APHA for today and into next week.

APHA Weekly $10-11 Calls
 .70-2.25 (+221%)
$10.50: .40-1.70 (+325%)
$11: .28-1.20 (+329%)

As we said above, we expect those figures to increase today, and going forward we’re going to add the APHA Weekly $13-14 Calls, and the APHA 01/22 $15 Calls into our pool of tracked contracts. We’ll also include the TLRY Weekly $21-22 Calls just for good measure.

We’re also going to include a wide range of OTC-traded cannabis penny stocks to track below, as the legislative environment is about to shift dramatically toward favorable conditions for federal reclassification, and the business opportunities it will provide should be like nothing we’ve seen to date.

Fresh Options Idea:
W 02/12 $340-335 Puts

PLUG Options Recap, Fresh Ideas

Plug Power Inc. PLUG – Recap

Yesterday morning we signaled our interest in track some PLUG calls in the wake of the company’s Q3 earnings release, which reflected the best quarter in its history. We have an extended track record of mentioning the company in our newsletters abd formulating options ideas based on its chain.

This occasion was perfect in its timing with the historic earnings figures driving a serious intraday push from 18.47 to 21.89. That made the conditions for our PLUG Weekly $18.50-20 Calls just right to produce the following excellent moves for us:

PLUG Weekly $18.50-20 Calls
$18.50: .97-3.50 (+261%)
$20: .48-2.22 (+363%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
ZI 11/20 $35-40 Calls
PLUG Weekly $21 Calls
DHI $65-66.50 Calls
