Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BCLI Recap & More

BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics, Inc. BCLI

2015 is upon us and our first order of business is to address one of the stocks we tagged in Wednesday’s premarket report. BCLI had a strong session, as it pushed its way up from an early low of 4.02 to an aftyernoon high of 4.94; a solid +23% performance.

The strong session was apparently aided by the pre-emptive PR the company released which served as a reminder that results from Phase 2a trials of its ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) treatment would be released on Monday. This morning the stock is gapping up wildly as anticipation grows, having already hit a premarket high of 7.28, which represents a total increase of 81% over the low we observed on New Year’s Eve.

Monday’s data release, which is expected to be positive, should most likely produce one of two effects. Either the results will beat expectations and facilitate another strong move, or they will fail to meet the mark and cause a pullback. In case of the latter, there may be rebound opportunities waiting just around the corner.

RedHill BioPharma Ltd. RDHL & NephroGenex, Inc. NRX

We also had this pair of standouts appear in Wednesday’s report, with each stock making a similar move. Both started the day with significant spikes in PPS, followed by a tapering off into the close.

RDHL made a sensational jump beginning almost immediately at the open running from 12.52 on up to 17.85 before its pullback, an intraday spike equaling 42.5%. Coincidentally, the stock ended the session having traded 42.5X its 3-month average volume.

NRX
saw an initial low of 12.96, followed by a healthy 39% run to a high of 17.98. This play would offer one more opportunity in the form of an intraday swing as it came down and rebounded off of the 12.60-mark before returning to 15.15, an added 20% move, bringing the day’s cumulative total of possible gains to 59% .

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Happy Veteran’s Day

Achillion Pharmceuticals, Inc. ACHN

Those of you who don’t remember, we followed ACHN to enormous gains this past summer, beginning with our first mention of the stock on June 9th. After that time we actually saw this play run from a low of 3.72 to more than 13.00.

We re-tagged it in yesterday’s extended watchlist and were happy with the timing;  the stock traded in a range from 10.67 up to 12.95, a healthy 21% intraday move on more than four times the 1-month average volume.

Planar Systems, Inc. PLNR

We also wanted to do a quick update on PLNR. This stock came off of our extended watchlist on Thursday, and made a modest 15% move from 6.11-7.05, and it put up a similar performance to start the week yesterday.

We saw a move from 6.40-7.94, an intraday gain of 24%, and at the high, an overall increase of 30% from Thursday’s observed low.

Implant Sciences Corp. IMSC

We also want to keep an eye on IMSC today, as we’re seeing the stock gap up this morning on the heels of a PR that alluded to the securing of a contract with the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that apparently could be worth up to $162M.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: XUII and PLUG Updates

Xumanii International Holdings Corp. XUII

XUII continued to run following the afternoon update we sent out yesterday, achieving a new high of day just prior to the close at .0026, marking a full 100% move in just a single day. The stock closed just one tick below at .0025, and ended up trading 744M shares, well over 10x the 3-month average volume going into the session.

Moving forward, we’ll be keeping a close eye on XUII, which will need to maintain support at or above .0018 in the worst case scenario to hold our interest.  That would be our theoretical stop-loss point, and as you can see on the included chart, the next major area of resistance doesn’t crop up until .0033.

Based on the momentum into yesterday’s close, we may be looking at a gap up from XUII first thing this morning. Ideally we’d like to see the 50DMA of .0024 hold as support.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Reigning as one of our most successful picks of all time, PLUG has appeared in our reports more than 40 times since we first caught it at .135, near all-time lows on February 28th, 2013. We tracked this play from those levels all the way up to an astonishing high of 11.72 roughly a year later, so PLUG will always hold a special place in our trading hall of fame, and never really get taken off of our watchlist.

We want to bring PLUG back to the forefront of the conversation again this morning, on the heels of a PR that just hit the wires, regarding a big purchase order from the world’s largest retailer. The stock is gearing up for a gap-up in pre-market trading, so we’ll want to keep a sharp eye on this one. This is the kind of press that can lead to rapid short-term gains.
