ProShares Short VIX Short-Term Futures ETF (SVXY) – Recap

We had some positive jobs numbers which posted on Friday, and to go along with the direction of the market activity we were observing, we highlighted a range of weekly options contracts in the SVXY ETF.

Our targets were the SVXY Weekly $152-154 Calls and we did see some pretty good movement from plays in that range, which made appreciable moves on the day. Those total possible gains were as follows:

$152 Calls – Range: 2.34-3.91 – Max Gain: 67%
$153 Calls – Range: 1.86-3.54 – Max Gain: 90%
$153.50 Calls – Range: 1.61-2.28 – Max Gain: 42%
$154 Calls – Range:1.15-2.71 – Max Gain: 136%

ShiftPixy, Inc. PIXY

The Friday before last, we signaled newly-IPO’d PIXY for observation on its first trading day ever, and it also performed admirably during last week’s short trading week.

After starting at a price of 6.30 on Friday (06/30), PIXY began to run, and this past Friday it hit a high of 10.50. That’s a solid 66% upswing, which is quite impressive for a first week of trading.

This morning, we’ve seen our observed range on PIXY increase even further to 78% with the stock managing a premarket high of 11.20.

We’ll be anxious to pick up where we left off and continue to track this new stock as we head into a new trading week. Each new high it sets is a new all-time high, so there’s no telling where this ride will let off. As we mentioned last week, we’ll just continue to monitor the stock, looking for higher base levels of support to be established as we go forward.

Inpixion INPX

We’re always looking for a good bottom play, and we have one with some potential in INPX, which tumbled last week after the company announced a hefty $6M public offering.

The offering was priced at 1.05/share and the stock is currently trading in the high-.60’s. We feel a return to at least the offering price would not be implausible.

Stocks coming off of recently-established 52-week lows have historically been good to us, so we want to place INPX on watch for a potential recovery.

Tempur Sealy International, Inc. TPX – Options Update

In Friday morning’s premarket report, we were providing updates on an options trading idea that we’d initially put forth on Thursday, the TPX 08/19 $70-80 Calls. The three sets of contracts had managed to yield gain opportunities ranging from 60-118% in that first session.

We also mentioned that because of the extended expiration date, we’d want to stay hot on the trail of this idea, and it was a good thing we did, because potential profits were extended with new highs in every case.

Our total observed gains over a two session span are as follows:

$70 Calls – Range: 3.00-6.10 – Max Gain: 103%
$75 Calls – Range: .90-.2.54 – Max Gain: 182%
$80 Calls – Range: .25-.60 – Max Gain: 140%

Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN – Recap

As a fresh daytrading idea, we also submitted the AMZN Weekly $762.50-770 Calls for observation on Friday, and saw some nice chances for solid gains there as well, early on in the session.

All of these huge moves occurred prior to the lunch hour:

$762.50 Calls – Range: 1.56-4.57 – Max Gain: 193%
$765 Calls – Range: .88-3.46 – Max Gain: 293%
$767.50 Calls – Range: .64-3.00 – Max Gain: 368%
$770 Calls – Range:  .16-1.15 – Max Gain: 619%

Vapor Hub International, Inc. VHUB

VHUB appeared in our morning report on Friday as well, and put up a notable intraday run itself. From a low of .008, it broke out of subpenny territory and reached as high as .018. That was good for gains of up to 125% on the day.

Ideally, we’d like to see the stock maintain its penny-plus status moving forward, but technically, it would hold our interest as long as it stays above Thursday’s swing high of .0094 on any dips.

Kraig BioCraft Laboratories, Inc. KBLB

We recently came back to stock that we’ve covered a lot in the past. On July 13th we alerted the play, when it was trading as low as .0261, and on Friday, the stock hit a high of .069, marking an upswing of 164% in just over two weeks’ time.

We’ll continue to follow its progress as we kick off a new trading week, granted that it closed with strength just a tick below its high of day. In order to keep our attention, we’ll need to see it hold support at or above .04 on any forthcoming consolidations.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: New Options Ideas & More

New Options Ideas

The market, which has been struggling mightily here in the opening weeks of 2016 for numerous reasons, appears to be in line for some measure of a rebound today, based on early trading activity. Q4 earnings season has kicked off, which should result in an increase of options trading opportunities in the days and weeks ahead.  In the event this trend holds and progresses, we’re going to want to have a few options contracts ready and waiting in the hopper to watch for swing-trade possibilities.

Shire plc SHPG

SHPG shares are gapping up to the tune of more than 5% in the premarket this morning in the wake of the revelation that Shire would be acquiring US-based Baxalta for a whopping $32B. The deal figures to create the largest rare-disease drugmaker conglomerate in the world.

We like to take advantage of blockbuster reveals such as this, and the trading hysteria they tend to create. For this particular situation, we are going to set our sights on SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls.

___

Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ACAD

ACAD has been tumbling down in terms of PPS in recent sessions. The reported possibility of dilution as a result of fundraising via public offering has had investors coming down on the bearish side of the fence. We want to be on the lookout for the possibility of a rebound. If such a move occurs we’re going to have the ACAD 02/19 $29 Calls and 03/18 $30 Calls on our radars moving forward.

Alcoa, Inc. AA – Possible Recovery Play

AA is striking us as a stock whose time for a rebound may be fast approaching. We want to signal this as a potential bottom-play. The strength index is heading into heavily oversold territory, and a triple-bottom setup suggests AA could be nearing basement-level prices.

We’re going to add this to our current list of bottom-watch plays, which also includes KOOL, MGI, GNBT, and MAXD.
