Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Bouncers & More

Riot Blockchain, Inc. RIOT

Things move pretty fast around here, but we do our best to keep up with tracking on all of the stocks we mention in our daily reports. In certain cases, we see slow buildup, and in others we see a quick rocket to new highs, but in the case of RIOT, we actually got both.

After we highlighted our interest in RIOT roughly two months ago on December 19th, it had been on a rather steady climb, until Friday when the lid blew off the top. Our observed low subsequent to our mention of the stock was 1.29, and Friday’s new high came in at 4.24. That’s a gain of 229% in a span of just eight weeks!

Bristow Group, Inc. BRS

We also wanted to quickly highlight a bottom-bouncer with some real potential to the upside. We ran across BRS this morning, noticing that it had just produced some activity off of a relative bottom.

There is a gap to fill on thwe chart and room to run for some potentially solid gains, so we’ll be keeping an eye peeled for that as we kick off a fresh trading week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Ideas & More

Options Ideas

Tesla Inc. TSLA- With TSLA recently finding support after a month-long overall downtrend, and its earnings report coming up this afternoon post-market, we’re going to want to signal a few options contracts for observation.

A bullish head start yesterday may help the stock continue to run into earnings, and could turn the TSLA  Weekly $330-337.50 Calls into premium targets as we head into the end of the week.

_____

Allergan plc AGN – Despite posting a Q3 loss, AGN beat expectations, and did see an 11.4% hike in quarter-over-quarter revenues. Combined with the fact that the stock has just come off of a new 52-week low, and it makes us very interested in this as a potential recovery play.

Accordingly, we are going to put the AGN Weekly $175-180 Calls on watch for the remainder of the week, and depending on how the activity shakes out, we may want to look out to next week’s contracts if it appears a more protracted rebound is in the cards. We’ll revisit that possibility later in the week if necessary.

Apptio, Inc. APTI

We also want to provide a quick performance update on APTI, which we included in yesterday’s premarket report.

It wasn’t a blockbuster day by any means, but it did manage to rise from a low of 20.57 to as much as 24.47. That’s a 19% intraday increase, and a very respectable single-session gain for a stock that started out above $20 to begin with. It made the move on more than thirteen times the monthly average volume, so we’ll definitely let this one keep its slot on our watchlists for the time being.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: The Incredible Run of OWCP & More

OWC Pharmaceutical Research Corp. OWCP

Our primary order of business this morning is to do a nice recap of what is perhaps the most profit-potential-packed pick in the long history of our newsletter’s existence! We’ve had percentage gainers of 5,000, 10,000 with relative regularity- and even the occasional 20,000 percenter- but nothing even approaching the move we’ve witnessed since tagging OWCP as a bottom play this fall, in our premarket report from September 29th.

The climb from the .0036 low we observed that morning would have been difficult to fathom at the time, but over the next four months, it has gone on to impress in a monumental way. Despite slight consolidations along the way, OWCP has persisted through multiple patches of resistance in arriving at yesterday’s new high of 2.10, marking a ridiculous overall run of 57,956%

Considering the fantastic bullish close the stock had yesterday, we wouldn’t even be surprised to see our unreal observed range extended even further over coming sessions.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. WMT – Options Update

In yesterday’s premarket report, we updated readers on our WMT options idea from January 31st. We were looking for an extended-term rebound when we signaled the WMT 03/03 $68-$69.50 Calls, and that’s exactly what we’ve gotten.

Leading into yesterday’s session we touted the excellent gain opportunities we had seen to that point in our selected contracts, which ranged from 166-246% We also made it a point to caution that with the way the stock was behaving in the premarket, we expected to see those ranges extended in a significant manner.

As you can see from updated figures below, the overall ranges on our observed plays were more than doubled with yesterday’s activity:

$68 Calls – Range: .86-4.20 – Max Gain: 388%
$68.50 Calls – Range: .57-3.75 – Max Gain: 558%
$69 Calls – Range: .48-3.25 – Max Gain: 577%
$69.50 Calls – Range: .41-2.75 – Max Gain: 570%
