Blue Horseshoe Stocks: RSHCQ Recap, FLSR, PEP Options & More

RadioShack Corp. RSHCQ
Our close coverage of RSHCQ has really come through for us as the stock performed very well on Monday and then again yesterday. Our initial alert came at a low of .1251 on Monday morning.

Yesterday the stock made its way up from a daily low of .1461 all the way up to .2145. That was an intraday spike equaling 47%, and measuring from Monday’s low, an overnight increase of 71% so cheers go out to any of our readers who were following this play to some fantastic short-term gains!

As we stated in our previous reports, we plan to keep a close eye on Radio Shack as the company deals with the many complexities of Chapter 11.

New Options Ideas

PepsiCo, Inc. PEP

In the spirit of taking as much advantage of the current earnings season as possible, we have continued to scour for potential options trading opportunities on earnings beats. PEP is standing out on our radar screen this morning, with Wall St. expectations having been exceeded.

PEP is showing a healthy chart currently in an ascending wedge pattern, and the stock is in the process of breaking all-time highs so we’re also entering blue-sky territory with this one.

Along with its Q4 figures, Pepsi also revealed that it would be initiating a share buyback program to run through 2018 where the company intends to buy back up to $12B of its own stock, which bodes well for the long-term health of the beverage and snack giant. >> View PR

To potentially take advantage of the current conditions with PEP, we’re going to be looking at Calls in the $99-100 range. Yesterday the $99’s closed at .62, the $99.50’s at .46, and the $100’s at .33. After what we expect will be a significant gap-up followed by some measure of profit-taking we will be looking to get ourselves positioned for what could be a strong rebound in those contracts.

We can also keep watch over the Feb. 20th $102 Calls (Last Trade: .23) for a potential swing-trade into next week.

First Solar, Inc. FSLR

Yesterday upon receiving word that Apple, Inc. had negotiated a solar deal with FSLR worth nearly $850M, FSLR went crazy, running into the close and continuing to climb in after-market trading as well as gapping up in today’s premarket action.

As a result of these circumstances, we’re going to be monitoring the FSLR $48 Weekly Calls (Closed 1.51) for what has the potential to be a very nice, rapid gain opportunity.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – Reminder

We also want to take a minute to reiterate our longer-term options strategy regarding BABA.  Yesterday we outlined the March 20th $95 Calls (Closed: .85)  We could see those open a bit higher today as BABA is looking like it wants to gap up to slightly this morning.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NGCG, BABA Options & More

New Generation Consumer Group, Inc. NGCG

Many of the stocks that we’ve placed on the Blue Horseshoe Stocks Stock Tracker lately have really turned some heads, and NGCG is the latest chapter in that ongoing story. We placed the stock on the tracker less than ten minutes into the session, and it was also a topic of discussion in our trading chatroom*.

From there, we witnessed one heck of run as NGCG tore its way up from a low of .0049 to touch .0175, an intraday spike of 257% The huge move came in the wake of the news of a massive share reduction, in which NGCG informed the public that it now has 484,608,753 shares outstanding, with an updated public float of 40,880,342. With such a low float, big volume has the potential to generate huge moves on the chart as yesterday’s session certainly proved.

We also like the company from a business standpoint; their “Mucho Macho Michelada Mix” is already on shelves, currently sold by high-profile retailers like 7/11, Amazon, Kmart, and more. This gives us another compelling reason to have NGCG on our radars moving forward.

Added Note:
We also want to extend our congratulations to one of our chatroom members, DJ, who brought DGLV to the room on Friday afternoon just before the closing bell at a PPS of .025. (You can see his reminder in the snapshot of yesterday’s alert on NGCG above.)  Yesterdays high of .104 registered as a 316% increase, so on behalf of the rest of our members, thanks a ton for your contribution, DJ!*

Options Idea

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – We’re also looking at BABA for a possible options trading opportunity, specifically with the 03/20 $95 Calls. We noticed that there is a gap to fill on the chart up to the $98-level. If BABA can get back to $98 by March 20th, those calls would be worth roughly 3.00, which would be quite a nice move from yesterday’s closing price of .80.

RadioShack Corp RSHCQ

Our mention of RadioShack in yesterday’s report also paid off, with the newly downlisted stock trading in a daily range from .1251-.1485, a solid 19% intraday gain. It did what we said we wanted to see it do, registering higher highs and higher lows off of its recently established bottom. We’ll continue to watch RSHCQ as the company navigates its way through bankruptcy proceedings.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Alibaba IPO, VVUS Recap

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – IPO

Along with multitudes of excited onlookers today, we are going to be spending the second-to-last trading session of Summer 2014 with a large part of our focus on the much-anticipated Alibaba IPO. It certainly has been a summer of unusually many tech IPO’s; we saw companies like Mobileye (MBLY) and GoPro (GPRO) go public, and now the biggest one of them all (of all time, actually) BABA is sure to make its mark.

Where there’s a huge IPO concerned, there’s a huge amount of hype, and with huge hype comes the potential for rapid profits… Of course, wherever there’s a chance for rapid gains to be made, we’ll be right there!

Folks interested in more of a long-term relationship with the stock are liking BABA for simple yet powerful reasons; Alibaba is rapidly growing, already profitable, and has more than an 80% market share of Chinese ecommerce, a market that includes hundreds of millions of potential customers, and a lot of free cashflow to throw around. For many investors, those points will be all they need to know.

For those who like to have a bit more to go on, the numbers are certainly impressive. With an annual customer base of over 270M active consumers, yearly orders totaling roughly $14.5B, and total sales of almost $300B, the new kid on the block is also going to be the big kid on the block! The twenty-teens have brought many of the most exciting tech IPO’s of all-time, and this one could just be the most tantalizing of all.

VIVUS, Inc. VVUS

From off of our extended watchlist in yesterday’s pre-market report, VVUS had a pretty solid session. It saw a low of 4.21 in the morning before running as high as 4.82 in the afternoon, and in doing so, recorded volume on the order of more than 24x the one-month average. That was an intraday run of roughly 14.5%

VVUS has been yet another stock that we’ve caught coming off of 52-week lows that has found support and shown us a positive move.
