Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TLM, HGSH & FRO Recaps

Talisman Energy, Inc. TLM

We began tracking TLM on Friday after noticing the stock coming up off of its recently-registered 52-week low, and on that day we observed a low of 4.17.

The stock made higher highs and higher lows yesterday following another inclusion in our morning report, making definite progress, but with a surprise buyout announcement early this morning the PPS has gone into overdrive.  The all-cash transaction is valued at $8 Billion, and has been unanimously approved on all sides.

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(Marketwired – Dec 16, 2014) – Talisman Energy Inc. The premarket high thus far today stands at 7.74, which marks an increase of 85% that we’ve witnessed in TLM over the course of just a few days. Congrats to anyone who caught our pre-emptive alert and was able to take advantage!

China HGS Real Estate, Inc. HGSH

Another winning call off of yesterday’s report was HGSH; the stock appeared in our extended watchlist, and went on to have quite a fruitful session. The stock would open and briefly touch a low of 4.63 before spending the rest of the day on the rise, culminating in an afternoon high of 5.96.

That solid intraday move came on more than 10 the 3-month average volume, and represented a highly respectable increase of 29%

Frontline Ltd. FRO

Despite seeing a gap-down in this morning’s pre-market on the heels of a debt-for-equity program announced by FRO, we did see a nice move out of the stock yesterday after including it in our last couple of newsletters. It made an intraday move from 2.53 to 2.95 (+17%).

We observed a low of 1.88 on Friday, meaning that yesterday’s high figured in as a two-day overall increase of 57%

BioLineRx Ltd. BLRX

BLRX also appeared in yesterday’s extended watchlist, and while it had a tough time getting going yesterday, the stock is up significantly in today’s premarket activity on the strength of a new PR so we’ll be sure to monitor the situation as the week progresses.

The company has signed an agreement with pharma-giant Novartis, under which Novartis has made an initial equity investment in BLRX of $10M for 12.8% of BLRX’s current shares outstanding. Read more about it in the following news announcement:

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CACH, PLUG & More

CACHE, Inc. CACH

Continuing the pattern of tracking bottom-plays that we’ve established this week, we have another potential play to add to the mix this morning with CACH.

We noticed this one on our premarket scanner this morning, and after glancing at the chart we can see potential for a possible dead-cat bounce. The stock has recently been beaten back to a new 52-week low at .22, and is rebounding back to the mid-.30’s in this morning’s premarket trading. We’ll have an eye on it for at least the remainder of the week.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Our long-time subscribers will certainly recall our monstrously-successful interactions with PLUG in the past, but for those who are newer to our reports, a quick refresh- we tagged plug initially back on February 28th, 2013 at a price of .135, and over a 13-month period followed it all the way to a high of 11.72 (this March); an eye-popping increase totaling 8,581%

Currently, PLUG is trading near the $4-mark in this morning’s premarket, and there is a gap on the chart from roughly 4.50-5.00. If the stock can break its 50DMA at 4.36 on the strength of a significant PR this morning, we could see a gap-fill.

On the whole, the stock is trading at a relative bottom, and with a number of factors looking favorable (including this morning’s announcement of a contract worth upwards of $20M), we like the chances of seeing some opportunities come our way.

The severe beating currently being administered to the fossil fuel markets makes now as good a time as any to look at alternative energy plays like this one, as well as others we’ve previously tracked within the sector, such as BDLP and FCEL.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EAPH Updates & More

Easton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. EAPH
As we wrap up this short trading week, we thought we’d touch upon EAPH, a stock that has done big things for us this year. Some of our readers may recall our very first tag of this play back in January, around which time we observed the stock trading at a subpenny low of .0041.

By early February, less than a month later, EAPH shot up to a high of .0989 (+2300%) easily making it one of our top ten calls so far in 2014.

Since that huge run, there have been quite a few swings to follow, but the overall trend was toward consolidation, which over the past few months brought EAPH back to Earth. The stock bounced off of a low of .011 on 06/25, and over the past several sessions, has begun to recover some ground. Yesterday in particular brought EAPH close to the .02-mark, falling just shy with a high-of-day of .0197.

We’ll be paying closer attention to EAPH in sessions to come now that it has bounced off of support and is attempting to make up some of the ground lost in recent months. Key resistance is around the .021 level.

It’s just one of the marijuana-relatedstocks that began to feel a surge of life this week, as we suggested might happen in Tuesday morning’s report. Washington State’s legal sales will effectively begin next week, when the Liquor Control Board expects to issue the first retail licenses.

American Apparel, Inc. APP

APP, a stock that we have turned to for reliable profits year after year, has done exactly as we suggested when we brought it back to our reports on April 15th, noting that we were heading into the time of year when APP traditionally provides well for us; the stock was trading at a low of .47 around that time.

APP ran to more than .70 later that month, began to taper back into the .50-range and recently, on June 27th, the stock surged to hit a high of a dollar even, marking an overall move of 112%

As the stock consolidates off of that major spike, we will be watching for support, and the chance for possible bounceplay opportunities. The previous resistance area from .78-.82 is where we’ll be looking for support to hold. As the holiday retail season approaches, we will keep a continuous watch over APP.
