Multiple Updates, Fresh Ideas

PHI Group, Inc. PHIL – Recap:

We’re back this morning with another update on PHI, a stock we’ve been tracking for a couple weeks now. We initially tagged this play in our June 8th report, and have been following along ever since. Subsequent to that alert, the stock registered a low of .0055 before taking off to new highs.

We reported an update on PHIL’s activity a week ago today, however this new trading week has brought still more new highs for this stock, with the PPS hitting .0185 yesterday. That works out to an overall move of 236%  Even if you only caught last week’s update on PHIL, you still could have caught a solid move from .0082 to yesterday high of .0185 which represents a move of 126%

Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. SWBI – Recap:

We rode some SWBI options for really nice gains between last week and this week as we mentioned in yesterday’s report, but with another huge surge in the stock to open up the week, the percentage gains in SWBI stock itself have become notable.

When we issued our idea on Friday, SWBI traded for as little as 20.75, and as of its newly registered high yesterday of 28.18, that marks a two-day swing of 36%, which is nothing to sneeze at for a $20+ stock.

Moderna Inc. MRNA – Review:

Just to provide a quick update on our MRNA options idea that we issued yesterday- despite choosing a longer-term set of contracts, we did see instant gratification as MRNA spiked on the day and provided for a very good start for our tracked contracts, the MRNA 08/20 $195-210 Calls.

MRNA 08/20 $195-210 Calls
$195: 23.50-27.85 (+19%)
$200: 18.00-25.10 (+39%)
$210: 13.55-19.95 (+47%)

We’ll add some weekly targets into the mix as well with the MRNA Weekly $210-212.50 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Post-Earnings Options Plays

Energizer Holdings, Inc. ENR

We’ve been seeking out prime bottom play opportunities this week, and to continue that trend, we’ve run across Energizer this morning on the heels of the stock registering a new annual low yesterday.

In conjunction with the fact that Deutsche Bank just upgraded ENR from a Hold to a Buy rating with a price target of $52/share (trading in the $37-range yesterday), along with indicators that the stock is heavily oversold, and we are confident in calling this one a prime bottom play candidate as well.

Fresh Options Plays

We also have a pair of fresh earnings-related options ideas to pass along this morning. Post-earnings plays are typically our miost successful, and we’ve got a couple of good hunches about the following contracts as we cruise through this midweek.

FedEx Corp. FDX –  Already in a good spot on the chart for a possible rebound leading into today’s session with a strong double-bottom setup, we’re looking to FDX options as FedEx’s Q4 results yielded a profits and earnings beat. As a result, we’re going to be tracking the FDX Weekly $157.50-60 Calls.

Micron Technology, Inc. MU – We are also looking at MU, which reported in the post-market yesterday as well, posting a beat on Q3 earnings, and bolstered guidance for sales of computer memory chips. Like the above mentioned play, MU is giving off a heavy multi-bottom signal. In this case we are interested in monitoring the MU Weekly $35-36.50 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Earnings Related Options Ideas

Earnings Related Options Ideas

As our regular readers are well aware, a majority of our focus in recent years has been shifted from straight stock trading ideas to options. More specifically, short-term options in companies that have just reported their quarterly earnings.

We are the absolute best newsletter for options daytrading in existence, routinely providing ideas with multi-bag gain potential each and every week. Our record, which anyone can view at any time in our archives, speaks for itself.

After a huge number of reporting companies just released their quarterlies and several high impact economic reports came back positive this morning, we’re going to revisit some ideas in a few chains that have been good to us in the past:

Shake Shack, Inc. SHAK Weekly $67.50 Calls
Weight Watchers International, Inc. WW Weekly $22.50 Calls
SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) Weekly $292.50 Calls

Bonus Idea:

Biogen, Inc. BIIB has been largely trading sideways since its huge flop on its alzheimer’s drug back in March caused a massive cratering of the stock. We look for large gaps on charts like this, along with signs that a stock has reached its lowest likely trading value. The latter signal, we can infer from the huge blocks of insider buying at current levels which have been reported over the past week. Two Form-4’s amounting to a total of roughly $20M in insider buys suggest that the current base is solid. We’ll look to take advantage of a longer-term idea and track the BIIB 07/19 $240-250 Calls.

ARCA Biopharma, Inc. ABIO

Occasionally we do still provide straight stock ideas as well, when a solid bottom or news play catches our attention. We put ABIO on bottom watch at the end of March when it was trading in the upper-$6 to $7 range. The stock was under steady consolidation for the whole of April, and reached as low as 5.01 just this week before launching into a huge two day uptrend.

Yesterday it reached a new high of 20.45, which marks an overall rise of 308% We also re-tagged it in our premarket report yesterday, and for those that only put it on their radars following that alert, yesterday’s intraday move alone was fairly impressive. It ran from 12.03 up to the previously mentioned high, which marks a one day upswing of 70%
