Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Pharma News

Pharma News Drives Sector

Somewhat of a reversal of fortunes has befallen major healthcare middlemen this week, and for them it’s good news. The Trump administration is doing a 180° on proposed changes to drug rebates that would have cost the healthcare industry.

The development is causing healthcare stocks to rise here in the premarket, and a few that have caught our eye in particular, are UNH, CI, and CVS. Each of these plays is flying high in early trading, so what we’re going to look for is a classic dip-and-rip scenario. Profit-taking right out of the starting gate should drive these stocks down off of their lofty premarket highs, and that’s when where we come in with the following ideas.

CVS Health Corp. CVS Weekly $57-58.50 Calls
Cigna Corp. CI $167.50-175 Calls
United Health Corp. UNH $250-255 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Chatroom Calls, More Ideas

From Our Daily Traders Chat

Based on the events of yesterday morning, it’s time once again to point out why we strongly suggest our readers also take part in our daily live traders chats via Skype.

Promptly at the opening bell, as you can see on the screen-snap below, we signaled interest in WCYN, which subsequently went on a huge intraday tear that took it from a low of  .0035 to as high as .047; that’s a move of 1243%

We also alerted TOPS at that time, and it made a run from 4.35 to a high of 7.09 for a 63% pop on the day. The stock is trading up over 7.50 in the premarket, so it looks like our observed gains are set to increase this morning.

Both of these plays are great examples of late-breaking opportunities that don’t make it into our daily reports, but that we still make available to our community of traders, and that includes YOU! To get involved, simply send a Skype contact request to username: “stocksumo” and we’ll get you all set up!

Kraig BioCraft Laboratories, Inc. KBLB

Yesterday we were outlining our July 13th report wherein we alerted KBLB, which was trading as low as .0261 at the time. To that point we’d seen it accumulate a gain of 164%, hitting .069 on Friday.

We also mentioned that we’d continue to track the stock if it could hold support above .04, and KBLB did us one better; it ran 27% from .075 to .095, and extended the overall increase we’ve witnessed in just over two weeks to an impressive 264%

CGrowth Capital, Inc. CGRA

After appearing in yesterday’s premarket report, this old familiar face produced a decent chance for some solid intraday profits. CGRA traded in a range from .0235 to .032, a notable jump of 36%

Options Idea:

Shire plc SHPG - Coming off of a premarket earnings release that has SHPG gapping up moderately in premarket trading this morning, we want to signal a range of options contracts to track in sessions ahead.

We’re looking at the SHPG Weekly $197.50-202.50 Calls. We’ll be interested in these calls provided SHPG holds support above the $195 mark on any initial pullbacks off of this morning’s gap-up.

Tempur Sealy International, Inc. TPX – Options Update

In Friday morning’s premarket report, we were providing updates on an options trading idea that we’d initially put forth on Thursday, the TPX 08/19 $70-80 Calls. The three sets of contracts had managed to yield gain opportunities ranging from 60-118% in that first session.

We also mentioned that because of the extended expiration date, we’d want to stay hot on the trail of this idea, and it was a good thing we did, because potential profits were extended with new highs in every case.

Our total observed gains over a two session span are as follows:

$70 Calls – Range: 3.00-6.10 – Max Gain: 103%
$75 Calls – Range: .90-.2.54 – Max Gain: 182%
$80 Calls – Range: .25-.60 – Max Gain: 140%

_______

Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN – Recap

As a fresh daytrading idea, we also submitted the AMZN Weekly $762.50-770 Calls for observation on Friday, and saw some nice chances for solid gains there as well, early on in the session.

All of these huge moves occurred prior to the lunch hour:

$762.50 Calls – Range: 1.56-4.57 – Max Gain: 193%
$765 Calls – Range: .88-3.46 – Max Gain: 293%
$767.50 Calls – Range: .64-3.00 – Max Gain: 368%
$770 Calls – Range:  .16-1.15 – Max Gain: 619%

Vapor Hub International, Inc. VHUB

VHUB appeared in our morning report on Friday as well, and put up a notable intraday run itself. From a low of .008, it broke out of subpenny territory and reached as high as .018. That was good for gains of up to 125% on the day.

Ideally, we’d like to see the stock maintain its penny-plus status moving forward, but technically, it would hold our interest as long as it stays above Thursday’s swing high of .0094 on any dips.

Kraig BioCraft Laboratories, Inc. KBLB

We recently came back to stock that we’ve covered a lot in the past. On July 13th we alerted the play, when it was trading as low as .0261, and on Friday, the stock hit a high of .069, marking an upswing of 164% in just over two weeks’ time.

We’ll continue to follow its progress as we kick off a new trading week, granted that it closed with strength just a tick below its high of day. In order to keep our attention, we’ll need to see it hold support at or above .04 on any forthcoming consolidations.

We’re circling back around to NEWC this morning on the heels of an untraded upon press release that just hit the wires. More Updates:

Sophiris Bio, Inc. SPHS

We’ve been tracking SPHS all week so far, and have been met with a good opportunity for some quick profits. Subsequent to our mention in Monday’s report, we’d witness a low of 4.92 in the stock, followed by a 22% run to 5.98. Then yesterday, it held support at 5.88 as it came down slightly before jumping up to a new high of 8.55, which also happens to be the stock’s new 52-week high.

It marked an intraday run of 45% and a two-day upswing of 74% over our observed low from Monday.

______

Weyland Tech, Inc. WEYL

We tagged this play on Friday (Low of 2.10), and then again in yesterday’s newsletter, and the performance we’ve seen thus far has been respectable.

Yesterday WEYL traded up from a daily low of 2.17 to a high of 2.80, representing a daily run of 29%, and an overall increase of 33% from Friday’s low.
______

Exact Sciences Corp. EXAS

We also had EXAS in yesterday’s report, and the stock made a modest move of 20% from a low of 14.57-17.47. Not the magnitude of gains that we typically hope for, but considering the price range, a 20% intraday pop is nothing to sneeze at.

Texas Instruments, Inc. TXN – Options Update

We signaled a range of calls in the TXN options chain yesterday morning to correspond with the company’s earnings beat, and the chances it churned out were very nice. We highlighted the TXN Weekly $70-72 Calls and every set contained within provided a shot to make gains of 500% or more! It also yielded our third and fourth options ideas of the past week that have yielded gains of over 1000%

The potential single-session profits were as follows:

$70 Calls – Range: .10-1.96 – Max Gain: 1860%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Updates, Fresh Plays & More

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. KBLB

We alerted KBLB in Wednesday morning’s premarket report, and on that day, we would observe a PPS low of .0261. Yesterday, the stock hit a high of .0395, for a respectable two-session upswing of 51%

Following that solid run-up, we saw the stock close at .0375, maintaining a vast majority of its advance. We’ll continue to keep a steady eye on KBLB, and look for it to maintain support above the .03-mark in order to keep us interested.

Potential Bottom-Plays

Rennova Health, Inc. RNVA – We have an interesting story unfolding with RNVA, and a potential rebound opportunity as well. After briefly cracking its 50DMA on Wednesday, the stock took a major gut punch yesterday as it gapped down immensely.

It seems a bit of an overreaction after reading the PR that apparently catalyzed the selloff. The company announced yesterday that it had priced a public offering with the intent of raising upwards of $8.6M in capital, expected to close by Tuesday. They set the purchase price at .45, which is why a massive slide to less than .30 seemed disproportionate.

We’ll be interested to see the activity in this now majorly-oversold stock in sessions to come.

__________

Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AMPE
– Speaking of stocks that have recently gapped down hard and found new lows, we have AMPE hitting our bottom-play radar.

Similar to the aforementioned play, the selloff occurred as a result of what some might construe as over-reactive. The company released data from a clinical study at the end of last month on its osteoarthritis injection treatment that was poorly-received.  However, while the primary endpoints of the double-blind study were not met, the treatment was markedly effective in improving the patients with the most extreme cases of the condition.

So the study was not a total loss, and the company made clear its intent to submit an FDA application for the treatment for those severely afflicted patients that were helped, and for whom no other non-surgical alternative exists.

That’s why we’ll be keeping an eye on AMPE to continue to regain some of its lost ground, as it has done over the past few sessions.
