Blue Horseshoes Stocks: CAMT, GWPH & More

Camtek, Ltd. CAMT

Hidden gems are quite often found in our daily Extended Watchlists, and yesterday CAMT was the standout play. The stock had a monstrously strong trading day, bulling its way continuously upward for the duration.

The landmark session started at a morning low of 3.42, and culminated at a high of 5.14 just minutes prior to the close. That solid move was enough to afford traders up to 50% in intraday gains, and it occurred on volume which was 40-times greater than the 3-month average.

The commotion was caused following an announcement that CAMT has launched its next-gen semiconductor product line, and apparently has already received advance orders from some unnamed “leading device manufacturers”. >>>Read the full PR here.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

The last time GWPH appeared in our reports was back on June 23rd. We were hailing it as being among our most successful plays of the year, as our prior tracking of the options chain had led to chances at gains amounting to more than 3000%

We pointed to a revitalization of the cannabis sector as one of our other primary reasons for being interested in GWPH, and the action of the stock in the couple of weeks since then proved that our assessment was warranted. Following a low of $88.73, we witnessed a subsequent 26% run to 111.46.

Over the past three sessions, GWPH has tapered back to fill a gap on the chart (as we point out below) so we are once again placing the stock on watch, to find support here, and potentially bounce back up over the $100-mark.

Once we see a solid level of support established and GWPH begins to rebound, then we’ll be able to adjust our options-trading strategies accordingly.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GWPH, MCRS, COCO & More

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

We were hot on the trail of GWPH last week, first bringing to our readers’ attention on Tuesday, and following it pretty intensely after that. It was another winning call, and we were rewarded by huge gains in the options contracts that we were tracking.

If you refer to Tuesday’s report, we put the $80-85 Calls on watch. At the time, the $80 Calls were trading at a low of 2.80, and on Friday, they reached an incredible $15. That’s a mega-move of 471% in just four sessions!

The $85 Calls were even more impressive, starting out at a low of .35 following Tuesday’s tag, and absolutely skyrocketing to Friday’s high of 11.30. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how pleased we were with that titanic run, which amounted to an intraweek increase of 3,128%

GWPH serves as an excellent example of why our daily coverage of the hottest opportunities on the markets has included more and more options plays than ever before. It is a great way to leverage relatively small moves by a stock, into what you can see are some astonishing chances for major-league gains.

An added note: Granted the fact that GWPH is a cannabis related play, we thought we’d mention the fact that New York just became the latest state to green-light a medical marijuana program for its residents. Between that, the upcoming 1st Annual WeedStock Conference in Denver, and the approaching start of Washington State’s legal sales, we wouldn’t be surprised if the marijuana sector began to pick up as we head into mid-summer. We’ll be keeping this and other related stocks on closer watch over the next several weeks.

MICROS Systems, Inc. MCRS

MCRS took off on Friday when word of a rumored buyout hit the street, and we now have confirmation that Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) will indeed acquire MCRS at a price of $68/share. We’re going to be peeking our heads in on this play as we kick off a new trading week.

The stock is gapping up close to the exercise price of the buyout this morning; often when we run across a situation such as this, the stock can have a hard time superseding the buyout price. However, if MCRS can get over the $68-mark, there could be some room left to the upside that would cause us to take interest in the $65-70 Calls.

Currently, the $65 Calls are trading at 3.75, and the $70’s are trading at 1.35- we’ll be monitoring those closely once we get a feel for how MCRS is going to respond.

Corinthian Colleges, Inc. COCO

COCO is catching our attention today as a stock that absolutely fell off a cliff last week, and appears to want to begin to retrace its steps, after bouncing on Friday, and continuing to gap-up in the pre-market this morning.

We always like to follow plays like this one closely, as stocks in recovery-mode have rewarded us time and time again in the past. News out today reported that the company will be receiving the necessary funds to continue its daily operations.

SANTA ANA, Jun 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) — Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (Nasdaq:COCO) announced today that it has reached a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Department of Education (the “Department”) that maintains uninterrupted daily operations at its schools, until the Company and the Department finalize a more detailed transition plan. Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AUMN, MEET & Options Calls

MeetMe, Inc. MEET
&
Golden Minerals Corp. AUMN

Both MEET and AUMN were winners off of yesterday’s extended watchlist, with each stock making nice intraday runs that traders could have used to their advantage.

AUMN’s move was the larger of the two, with the stock trading up from its early morning low of .72, and reaching as high as 1.00 before lunchtime. That made gains of up to 39% possible for anyone riding the wave.

We may want to keep AUMN on our radars for a longer period of time, as the PR which catalyzed yesterday’s move up contains some intriguing information. We’re going to be interested to follow along with that storyline. We suggest you read the full text of the announcement by clicking the link in the except below.

GOLDEN, Colo., Jun 18, 2014 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) — Golden Minerals Company (“Golden Minerals” or the “Company”) (NYSE MKT: AUMN) (TSX: AUM) today announced plans for a July 2014 restart of mining at its Velardena Properties located in Durango state, Mexico. Once mining and processing are ramped up to approximately 285 tonnes per day (tpd) of sulfide ore in mid-2015, the Company expects output of approximately 1.0 to 1.2 million silver equivalent ounces per annum (including silver and gold but excluding lead and zinc), with cash costs between $12 and $15 per silver ounce net of by-product credits. >> FULL PR

_____

MEET’s intraday run was a bit more modest coming in at 19% as the stock ran from 2.06-2.45, but the opportunity was still present. The spike came on high volume, and the stock held the majority of those gains into the close, so we may want to keep tracking this one as well.

Tracking Our Options Calls

We’ve had so much success with options this week, that the chances are too many to list! As of yesterday premarket, our total possible percentage gains had already pushed well into the thousands, and that figure only increased throughout the session. Each of the three primary chains we’ve been playing this week executed classic dip-and-rip scenarios, and virtually every set of Calls we’ve been watching made sizable moves.

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR

3D Systems, Inc. DDD

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

From the One Week charts below, you can see just how significant the swings have been in the Calls on each of these plays.

We want to continue monitoring these charts regardless of which way they appear to trend, as every pullback we’ve seen thus far has provided us with chance to play the dip-and-rip. With the Fed’s stance on tapering and not raising interest rates anytime soon, it could continue to feed what has been an absolutely historic bull market.
