Sustained Options Success

Options Updates

We try to make solid quick-strike options ideas for our readers and ourselves each and every morning. We generally do find at least some measure of success with that on a daily basis, and yesterday was no exception to that.

We signaled a range of bullish ideas for CAH, in addition to a bearish one for MAR which both turned in some decent gains on the day. A few of the longer term ideas we’ve been tracking saw increases as well, but we’ll come back to those at a later time.

For now, here are the moves made by yesterday’s targets so far:

Etsy, Inc. ETSY – Recap

Tuesday morning, we announced our interest in the ETSY 03/15 $60-65 Calls, and while we saw some good gains out of it that day, we did mention yesterday morning that we would continue to track these ideas.

It was a good thing we reserved that space on our watch screen too, because ETSY followed up on its bullish Tuesday performance, with another solid upswing for Wednesday. The following figures are the overall increases from our observed lows in these contracts from Tuesday, to yesterday’s new highs.

$60 Calls – Range: 6.39-12.30 – Max Gain: 94%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ETSY Recap, New Ideas

Etsy, Inc. ETSY – Update

Yesterday morning, we floated a couple of fresh options ideas, as we have become accustomed to doing, and ETSY was one of those ideas. We signaled our interest in the ETSY 03/15 $60-65 Calls, and while they didn’t exactly set the world on fire, we did see some very nice first-day gain opportunities from that idea.

The $60 Calls traded in a range from 6.39-10.20 on the day, marking a move of 60% The $65’s fared marginally better, putting up a run from 3.49 to 6.42, which marked a rise of 84% Those were some modest, yet very respectable single-session rips, and with nearly three weeks remaining before they expire, we’ll go ahead and keep these plays on our radar going forward.

Weight Watchers Intl. Inc. WTW Weekly $23-20 Puts
GW Pharma plc GWPH 03/15 $165-175 Calls

Campbell Soup Co. CPB – Options Update

We opened up the week yesterday with a fresh options idea, designating the CPB Weekly $30.50-$42 Calls for observation, and we were pleased to be met with potential gains across the board. While not every contract set was a huge runner, they all made gains, including 4 out of 6 recording multi-bag performances on the day.

$30.50 Calls – Range: 2.26-3.12 – Max Gain: 38%
$40 Calls – Range: 1.00-3.00 – Max Gain: 200%
$40.50 Calls – Range: 1.63-2.00 – Max Gain: 23%
$41 Calls – Range: .95-2.10 – Max Gain: 121%
$41.50 Calls – Range: .80-1.80 – Max Gain: 125%
$42 Calls – Range: .60-1.50 – Max Gain: 150%

With the way CPB stock itself behaved, we’ll be very interested to continue to keep an eye on the activity in these plays as the week progresses.

Fresh Options Idea – Harley-Davidson, Inc. HOG

As promised, we also have another fresh options idea today. Harley announced plans to shift some of its US production overseas to avoid EU tariffs over the weekend, and was promptly slammed by Donald Trump.

This has caused a clear over-reaction by enough traders/investors as well as a spike in short interest which is driving the stock down rapidly. It is approaching a multi-bottom setup on the chart, and we’re going to want to be ready to take advantage when the rebound occurs.

We’re going to signal the HOG 08/03 $43-44 Calls, and remain watchful over HOG in the days and weeks ahead for a rebound that could be coming at any time.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CANN Recap & More

General Cannabis Corp. CANN

To kick off this week, we sent out a reminder going over the extensive list of cannabis plays we published on April 4th in anticipation of Friday’s 04/20 Holiday celebrations and connected stock activity.

We expect a rising tide of interest and activity in the cannabis space for the remainder of this week and beyond, during what is one of the busiest times of year for marijuana-related businesses/stocks.

We are already impressed with the move made by CANN since our initial alert and through to this week. On the 4th, following our report, CANN established its base at 2.25 and hasn’t looked back. Yesterday the stock hit 5.75, marking a two week bull run of 156% As we said, we expect to see more moves like this from the myriad cannabis plays we track on a regular basis. (Non-Exhaustive List Here)

vTv Therapeutics, Inc. VTVT

We also want to make note of VTVT this morning after noticing a number of attractive features on the chart. Pre-existing shareholders of VTVT are certainly not happy with the events of the past few months, but as opportunistic short-term traders, it has almost everything we look for a regular basis.

In addition to being monstrously oversold, the stock has seen a rise in average volume over the past week, after a massive gap-down which you can plainly view on the snapshot below. What makes the scenario so interesting, is that the company will need to reattain and hold the 1.00/share or risk involuntary delisting from the NASDAQ. With all these factors playing in, we’ll definitely want to put this one on extended watch in the event it attempts to fill even a portion of that gap.
