PLUG, BLDP, MACK & Extended Watchlist

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

We had a feeling that PLUG was going to continue its run yesterday, as stated in our daily report, and once again our instincts served us well. The momentum built up in this stock on Wednesday as it made a 23% move to close out the session on more than 6x the 3mo. average volume was impossible to ignore.

After opening at the key resistance point we outlined (1.45) PLUG briefly dipped to 1.43 and then barreled upward as it touched a high of 1.96, an intraday gain of 37% on roughly 14x the average volume. The momentum continued to build in PLUG and we continued to follow along closely. Remember, our coverage of this play goes back a long way, since the stock was trading in the .11-range.

This morning, the stock is gapping up above 2.00. The current pre-market high of 2.19 represents a gain of 1804% from the low following our first ever PLUG alert back on Feb 28th. The gain from our recent re-alert at a low of 1.04, at this morning’s high, stands at 111%

PLUG has certainly surpassed any expectations we had for it, and as you can see on the chart below, it appears currently overbought, which means the time to take profits off of the table is fast approaching. For newcomers, we believe the best action would be to patiently await a dip, and subsequent rebound, as has occurred several times this year.

Ballard Power Systems, Inc. BLDP

BLDP appeared on our extended watchlist on Wednesday, at which time the stock was trading at a low of 1.34. This morning, we are witnessing a gap-up on a PR that hit the wire post-market yesterday, with trades currently going off in the 1.80-range. We’ll want to keep an eye on the activity here as we close out the week, so we’re reserving a spot on our tickers for BLDP.

VANCOUVER, Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP)(TSX: BLD) has announced the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Van Hool NV, Europe’s fourth largest bus manufacturer, in support of the manufacture and further deployment of zero emission fuel cell buses.>>>FULL STORY

Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. MACK

MACK is another play we’ve been tracking recently, mentioning it for the first time on November 8th, when it was trading as low as 2.40. Like the previous play, MACK is gapping up this morning to the tune of more than 100% with shares changing hands for more than 4.80.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Dec. 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (MACK) today announced that Phase 1 data evaluating safety of the novel agent MM-302 in patients with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer will be presented at the 2013 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), December 10-14, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas.  >>> FULL STORY

PLUG, IACH, CALI, AAPL & Extended Watchlist

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

PLUG turned in a solid session yesterday, as anticipated, following its appearance in our morning report. Initially, the stock opened at 1.04, made a 12.5% move to 1.1699, and would settle back to the 1.04 level before running up to a daily high of 1.28 for an added 23% intraday gain opportunity.

Following a strong close just a tick below the high-of-day (1.27) we’re going to be following this play once again, as the momentum could easily carry it even higher. As you can see on the chart below the next key area of resistance to watch for a break comes at the 1.45 level. We’ll need to see the stock hold support above a dollar, or it could pull back to fill the gap on the chart back to the .80-range.

Information Architects Corp. IACH

We’ve been tracking IACH via our Extended Watchlist for most of the week. The stock recently made a huge 1800% move from .001-.019, prompting us to put it on our radar,  monitoring for pullbacks and subsequent bounce opportunities, and it delivered just that.

After dipping back to .008, we saw a rebound back to .013, and a strong close at .012. Gains of up to 63% could have been achieved on the bounce.

China Auto Logistics, Inc. CALI

We also want to keep an eye on CALI, which popped up on our pre-market scan as it is gapping up heavily on the heels of a morning press release.

TIANJIN, CHINA, Dec 05, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) — China Auto Logistics Inc. (the “Company” or “CALI”) (NASDAQ: CALI), a top seller in China of luxury imported automobiles, and a leading provider of auto-related services, reported today that on November 30, 2013, its subsidiary, Tianjin Binhai Shisheng Trading Group Co., Ltd. (“Shisheng”) signed an equity transfer agreement with Hezhong International Development Co, Ltd. to acquire Tianjin Zhonghe Auto Sales Service Co., the owner and operator of the Airport International Automall in Tianjin (the “Automall”). The Company plans to develop the Automall into a key site for what it believes can become one of the largest used car businesses in China.

Apple, Inc. AAPL Options

With the way AAPL has been gaining a head of steam lately, it seems plausible to imagine the stock surpassing $600 as we head into the new year. As a result, we are putting the 01/18 $585 Calls on our radar which closed at 12.25 yesterday, meaning the break-even point is 597.50. What we’re looking for, is to see the stock push past to the $610-15 level in January, which could provide triple-digit gains for the 01/18 $585 Calls.

The company finally signed a deal with China Mobile to get its iPhones on their network, as reported by the The Wall Street Journal this morning. China Mobile is comprised of over 700 million users, which obviously represents huge opportunity (in a market more than twice the population of the US) for Apple to boost foreign sales moving forward.

TSLA, PLUG, ETRM, OMED & Extended Watchlist

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options
Back on November 29th, we were noticing that conditions on the TSLA chart had been exhibiting signs of a coming uptrend, and as a result, we presented a few options trading ideas that we felt had a reasonable chance of success. In particular, the 12/21 $120 Calls, and the 12/27 $130 Calls. We were rewarded for our interest, as the stock did indeed find its legs and begin to run following that report.

Since then we’ve seen some major moves out of those contracts, as the $120 Calls ended up trading from a low of 8.40, all the way up to yesterday’s closing price of 25.46, a monstrous 203% gain. The $130 Calls saw their low at 5.03, and ended up closing at 17.07. That was good for an even larger 239% rip.

Chartwise, it appears as if resistance is sitting at $145.65, $151, and the 50DMA of $159.45, and there is a gap on the chart to fill from $160-176, so a push past those key resistance points could lead to more pronounced increases. We would continue to take advantage of the added gains on these contracts, and in the event of a sustained uptrend, would have to consider rolling our strike price up to higher level that we believe would still be pushed into the money.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

PLUG has been an old favorite of ours from last March when we caught it on our scanners coming off its 52-wk lows (.1155) and we’ve mentioned it on multiple occasions since that time. We’ve followed this play all the way up to current levels, which as a result of recent favorable reports on the company’s finances, have reached all the way up to this morning’s pre-market high of 1.41. That represents an increase of 1121% off of lows following our initial alert.

We’ll be continuing to monitor PLUG closely, and will certainly want to take part in today’s conference call/webcast in which the CEO will address the reasoning behind his statement that the company is on pace for a “blowout quarter.”, as well as other issues.

LATHAM, N.Y., Dec 04, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) — Plug Power Inc. (Nasdaq:PLUG), a leader in providing clean, reliable energy solutions, will today host a conference call and webcast during which CEO Andy Marsh will provide a business update for Plug Power and the Company’s expectations for the remainder of 2013 and for 2014.Since the October 8 business update call, the Company has seen an additional 17.8M USD in bookings. Plug Power is currently in negotiations with several large customers on sales agreements to deploy turn-key GenDrive solutions at multiple distribution centers. The Company believes this will significantly impact the fourth quarter bookings, as well as provide a recurring revenue stream from product, service and hydrogen contracts. Plug Power expects orders to range between 30M and 40M USD for the fourth quarter of 2013.

Plug Power has scheduled its conference call and webcast today at 10:30 am ET to review the Company’s business updates. Participants are encouraged to join the webcast to access the accompanying slide show presentation. Andy Marsh will be joined by COO, Keith Schmid, and Vice President of Sales, Erik Hansen, to answer questions.

EnteroMedics, Inc. ETRM

ETRM was part of yesterday’s Extended Watchlist, and the stock went on to put up quite a performance. After touching a low of 1.48 shortly before 10:30am, ETRM would spend the rest of the day pressing upward to its high of day and closing price at 2.24. This marks an impressive intraday run of 51% on nearly 20x its 3mo. average volume.

We’ll certainly want to keep an eye on a stock with current momentum of this magnitude.

OncoMed Pharmaceuticals, Inc. OMED

Another winner from yesterday’s Extended Watchlist, OMED traded in a range from 22.10-31.99, which marks an intraday move of 45% Quite an impressive feat for a big-board stock in this price range.

Congrats to anyone who caught this, or any of the opportunities for significant profits afforded by the excellent calls in yesterday’s report.

Future World Energy | FWDG & Extended Watchlist

FutureWorld Energy, Inc. FWDG

Many of you will recall FWDG as a stock that recently brought us substantial gains, as you can see from this excerpt from our daily report for April 8th: “A quick recalculation of our total cumulative gains on FWDG in less than a week, provides us with a staggering figure of 1054% from the low following our initial alert at .0013 (Tuesday) to Friday’s high of .015.”

After it hit a high of .016, the stock went on to consolidate down to .006 last week. Following yesterday’s mention of FWDG in our Extended Watchlist, the stock broke resistance at a penny before running as high as .0145. Moving forward, we’d like to see the stock test previous resistance at .016. A break past that point would place FWDG firmly in the realm of Bluesky Breakout Mode.

Side Note: We are also scanning APPL for Options trading opportunities. AAPL looks like it may have found support around $400, judging by premarket activity this morning. It appears to be gapping up to a high of 407.76. So currently we are looking at the $410 Calls, but obviously, we will be changing our focus to the $400 puts, should it begin to lose support. There may even be opportunities on both sides of the fence, based on the volatility we’ve seen from Apple of late.

Extended Watchlist:
FCEL, ADK, SWHC, PTGI

APDN, MWIP, ONCY & Extended Watchlist

APDN had an impressive day for the second consecutive session. The stock ran up until it hit a patch of resistance at.295, right where we asserted it would come. When added to Wednesday’s gains, APDN’s performance yesterday brought our total cumulative profits to a possible 44%

The stock has maintained its strength on the chart, as we’ve seen higher highs and higher lows on rather impressive share volume, and nearly $5M in dollar volume.

The next key level that we’d like to see broken through is .2965. As we said yesterday, a break past that level could send us into Blue Sky Breakout mode.

___

MWIP was added to our extended watchlist yesterday after we observed the momentum it exhibited earlier in the week.

We are no stranger to MWIP, we began following this play back on October 16th when we put out our first medical marijuana roundup report. The stock was trading as low as .0031 at the time, subsequently surging to .005 before it dipped to find support between .0024-.0029.

Yesterday the stock was as low as .0055 and ran as high as .0076, an intraday gain of 38%

The buzz surrounding medical marijuana stocks doesn’t figure to slow down anytime soon, and this play could be headed to pennyland in the near future. The next patch of resistance from here appears to come at .0125. We’d like to see the previous resistance from .0066-.007 hold as support.

___

Oncolytics Biotech Inc. ONCY

ONCY was another new addition to our extended watchlist yesterday, had a heck of a day, opening at .2.70, and running as high as 3.85 before closing out the day at 3.03 (+43%).

___

Two days in a row, our selections have provided us with a couple of nice opportunities for profit. As we were saying yesterday morning, you really can’t find the kind of variety of successful plays anywhere else, that we provide here on a consistent basis. Here’s wishing everyone a safe and fun weekend, best of luck to all and happy trading.
