Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PZRX Review & More

PhaseRx, Inc. PZRX

It seems like most of the big runners we’ve caught up with in recent weeks have been pharma plays of one type or another, and that trend continued yesterday. PZRX was the standout performer from our premarket watchlist, trading in a rather impressive range throughout essentially the entire session.

The stock saw an early low of .82, and surged continuously up to a high of  1.55 roughly an hour before the close. It worked out to an intraday swing of 89% and came on fantastic liquidity, with more than 43X the monthly average volume flowing through the PZRX.

The stock closed with strength in the high 1.20′s and is inching back into the 1.30′s in the premarket. The move was catalyzed by the company’s 2nd drug development candidate, PRX-ASL, for the treatment of ASLD, a rare liver disorder, has received orphan drug status by the FDA. (>>View PR)

.We’ll continue to track its activity and look for higher lows and higher highs as we head into week’s end.

Iconic Brands, Inc. ICNB

We tagged ICNB as a bottom-watch play early in the week, and have begun to see the rebound that we were looking for.

We subsequently observed a low of .0058, and yesterday with the stock reaching .008, it marked an intraweek swing of 38% Once again, we’ll be looking for the establishment of higher highs and higher lows in forthcoming sessions.

SeaDrill Ltd. SDRL

Speaking of excellent bottom calls, we’ve had an even better one in SDRL. We highlighted this one in our report last Wednesday, after which time we observed the stock at a low of .22. Yesterday it attained a .62 high, representing an upswing of 182% over the span of just a few sessions. Once more, we’ll be looking out for a more sustained recovery

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. APC

We want to put a few sets of options contracts from the APC chain on watch today after noticing the annoucement of a massive share buyback program by the company to the tune of $2.5B, effectively reducing the number of outstanding shares by 10%

The stock has tested an area of recent resistance as a result in premarket trading. We’re going to radar the APC 09/29 $47-48.50 Calls, and watch them into next week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MRTX Recap & More

 Mirati Therapeutics, Inc. MRTX

After reporting positive cancer trial results on Friday, we talked about MRTX being poised for a big move and we weren’t incorrect.

The stock exploded out of the gate right from the outset, and traded in an impressive range from 9.15 to 12.40 early on in the day. That was good for a 35% intraday run- excellent for a $9+ stock. This is the third time in as many weeks we’ve called a stock that was approaching the ten dollar range and saw it gain more than a third in value in a single session.

Not only did MRTX trade up big on many times more thanits average volume, but it managed to maintain well over half of its daily advance, so we’ll be interested to continue monitoring its activity as we kick off a fresh trading week.

Iconic Brands, Inc. ICNB

We want to place ICNB on bottom-watch after taking a look at the recent history of the chart. This stock exhibits some really nice volatility and is coming down off of a significant spike.

When it finds support and rebounds, we could see a notable swing trade opportunity. The last such swing took the stock from the .003 range to .014.

The company recently announced its brand of Prosecco endorsed by former supermodel Christie Brinkley would be carried by Publix stores, so we’ll also be looking for further updates on that part of the story as well.

Pluristem Therapeutics, Inc. PSTI

We tagged PSTI for observation roughly a month ago, and have since seen a moderate move up on the chart, and will want to continue monitoring the situation.

The run the stock has made thus far is a marginal 27%, but things this morning have taken an interesting turn as the company announced the FDA granted fast track status to one of its treatments.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMRS, TTOO Recaps & More

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. CBRL

We were looking at a favorable setup on the CBRL chart along with a premarket earning beat in yesterday morning’s report, and we floated a couple of options ideas that worked out pretty well early on in the session.

We had the CBRL Weekly $150 & 151.50 Calls as well as the 10/20 $155 Calls on watch, and both our short -term and longer-term ideas provided excellent chances for multi-bag gains on the day.

The Weekly $150′s traded in a range from 1.01-4.00 (+296%), while the
$151.50′s ran from 1.10-2.79, gaining 154% intraday. Even the longer-term idea, the 10/20 $155′s more than doubled on the day, running 175% from 1.09-3.00.

Amyris, Inc. AMRS

We wanted to circle back for AMRS today to recap the past month of its performance on the chart. We put this play on bottom-watch on the morning of  August 15th, and as it turns out, our timing was pretty good. It was just a couple of sessions later when we observed a low of 1.86  in the stock, and it’s been mostly bullish moves since then.

Yesterday, AMRS hit a new high of 3.84, marking an overall increase of 106% in matter of just one month’s time. If the stock can manage to break its previous resistance around the 4.30 area, things could get really interesting.

______

Added Note:

T2 Biosystems, Inc. TTOO - In that same report from August 15th we were discussing the run we had seen from TTOO from 2.53 to its highs at the time just over $4. It too hit an impressive new high yesterday, at 6.99. That works out to a one month increase of 176%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SRMX Explodes & More

SkyFidelity Inc. SRMX – Recap
Although the dog days of summer made July a fairly subdued month, August has started off pretty well so far, with our first multi-bag gainer showing up in the form of SRMX. We included it in our premarket report yesterday morning after catching the PR the company released on a routine news scan, and were happy that we did.

SRMX, after releasing news of a potentially disruptive new product, went absolutely haywire, trading in an incredible range from .0043 all the way up to .024. That worked out to a fantastic single-session pop of 458%

Strategic Global Investments, Inc. STBV

We also put STBV on our radar yesterday morning and it too produced a positive move on the day. From its low of .0731 the stock ran as high as .145, an intraday rip of  98% which came on more than nine times the monthly average volume.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on STBV which is at multi-year highs and firmly in blue sky breakout territory.

Medical Transcription Billing Corp. MTBC
We also want to circle back to MTBC, which we’ve been tracking since the morning of July 17th. Shortly thereafter the stock saw a low of 1.08 and it hasn’t looked back.Yesterday it reached a new high of 2.39, which marks a 121% run through a period of just over two weeks. We’ll continue to stay on its track, as the company just posted a solid quarterly report which included a 55% boost in revenue.

_______

Lululemon Athletica LULU – Fresh Ideas

Lululemon had an earnings beat of its own yesterday post-market, so we want to formulate some ideas for the LULU chain as well.

Not only is the stock gapping up on earnings, but like DG yesterday, the LULU chart was already looking like a bottom-play with premium potential. That’s why we want to formulate both a short and long term set of ideas for LULU options. The LULU Weekly $55-57.50 Calls*, to coincide with the immediate boost in activity off of these earnings, and the LULU 06/30 58.50-60.50 Calls in the event of a protracted recovery.

*We never highlight options with a weekly expiration on a Friday without an explicit warning. That should tell you how risky it can be. So if you’re not an expert trader, don’t even think about it!

Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. SGYP

We also want to put SGYP on watch today after noticing that the stock is coming off of its 52-week lows. That’s always a chart setup that we’re going to look at, but in this case the lows followed shartly after the company producing positive Phase III data on its TRULANCE™ drug, which is already approved by the FDA.

We’ve included a chart snapshot here, and you can plainly see, the stock had been beaten back severely and is only just now beginning to mount a rebound.
