Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Ideas, Bottom-Bouncer & More

 New Options Ideas

The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN- It was just last week that we successfully targeted PCLN Calls in the $1065-1085 area, and already the stock has hurtled its way to its highest PPS levels since September. In this morning’s premarket the stock has traded as high $1225.75.

For a possible day-trade opportunities this week, we’re going to keep an eye on Weekly PCLN Calls in the $1180-1225 range, provided the stock can maintain support at or above $1175 on any pullbacks.

Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals, Inc. TTPH – TTPH is another morning gapper that we’re going to be transfixed upon this morning. In the midst of a ‘Superbug’ outbreak in California which is one of today’s top-reported headlines, TTPH, which is developing an antibiotic to combat these types of drug-resistant pathogens has become the subject of potential buyout rumors.

We’re going to monitor the TTPH $40 Calls for another possible short-term target as we head into the end of this holiday-shortened trading week.

Longer-term Ideas

In addition to the preceding short-term plays, we also have a couple of  ideas for longer-term opportunities with GoPro, Inc. GPRO and Garmin, GRMN. Both stocks have seen significant pullbacks this week, and are showing symptoms of a possible rebound in the premarket with slight gap-ups.

We will want to radar March 20th GPRO $47 and $48 Calls (Closed at 2.50 and 2.08, respectively).

For GRMN we’ll be monitoring the March 20th $52.50 and $55 Calls (Closed at .76 and .30, respectively).

Atheranova, Inc. AHRO

We also want to tag AHRO this morning as a potential bottom-bouncer. The stock recently fell off of a cliff, and yesterday began to rebound off its newly-established 52-week lows.

We always keep our eyes peeled for stocks in this position, as we have used them to our advantage time and time again.

Angie’s List, Inc. ANGI

ANGI was a point of focus on yesterday’s extended watchlist, as well as a topic of discussion in our trading chatroom*. The stock made a big move from 6.45-7.80, a 21% intraday spike.

The accompanying options idea we floated in our chatroom* yesterday were the March $7.50 Calls,. which made a significant move from .25-.85, and will continue to garner our attention moving forward.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PCLN, EXPE Recaps & More

Yesterday’s Options Ideas
The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN- The buyout of Orbitz by Expedia yesterday seemed to cause a ripple effect throughout the travel-booking sector yesterday, with many similar stocks making strong performances on the day.

The contracts that we proclaimed our interest in for PCLN were the the $1065-$1085 Calls, and with PCLN rising as high as 1102.26, substantial profits were there for the taking.

The $1065 Calls made an excellent 140% move from a low of 15.04 all the way to 36.20, while the $1085′s shot from  4.50 to 17.15 in a huge intraday increase of 281%

Expedia, Inc. EXPE - As far as EXPE itself, our premarket idea of the $86 Weeklies yielded an excellent opportunity as they moved up from 1.50 to 5.77, a 285% spike.

Those traders who chose to strike a bit closer to the money could have scored big with the $88 Calls as well, which traded in a range from .45-2.95 (+555%)

More New Ideas

We’ve done so well with options calls these past few weeks that there’s no point in stopping now! We’ve got a couple of new ideas to radar this morning in the web security business.

Both stocks are gapping up today, so we will be on the lookout for dip-and-rip scenarios to facilitate potential trades in the following:

CyberArk Software, Ltd. CYBR – With CYBR, we’re going to start off looking at the $50 Calls, which closed yesterday at 1.70, and the  $55 Calls which closed at .60.

FireEye, Inc. FEYE - For FEYE, we’ll want to monitor the $39.50, $40, and $40.50 Calls (Closed at .55, .35, and .15 respectively.)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: RAD, ACHN Recaps & More

Achillon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ACHN

ACHN stood out amongst the stocks we discussed in yesterday’s morning report. The move came in conjunction with the announcement that the company’s Hep C treatment currently in trials had successfully cured all of the patients in the latest clinical test.

As a result ACHN ran from a morning low of 14.56 on up to 16.87 for a solid 16% intraday move, on its highest volume traded since June.

We’ve been tracking ACHN for over a month now, and in that time have observed a low of 12.00 (Nov. 12th). As of yesterday’s high, that represents an overall increase of 40% in a relatively short amount of time.

Rite-Aid Corp. RAD

We began paying attention to RAD on Tuesday of last week, and the stock has made some good progress since then. Yesterday was no exception, with RAD adding another 6% to the healthy upward movements we’ve already witnessed.

From the low of 5.79 we observed last Tuesday after adding it to our watchlist for the first time, to yesterday’s high of 7.19, equates to a move of 25% in a span of just five sessions. That’s more than enough to hold our attention as we head into the New Year.

It’s worth mentioning that the Cowen Group investment research arm upgraded RAD from a ‘Neutral’ to an ‘Outperform’ rating, with a price target of 8.50/share, and one of our favorite sites, is currently rating RAD a 100% Short-Term ‘Buy’, with an 88% ‘Buy’ Rating overall.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NSCT Exclusive CEO Interview

Cloud Medical Doctor Software Corp. NSCT

We’ll start things off this morning by turning our attention back to NSCT; we brought it into the fold for the first time this week as a longer-term play. The chart appeared to have to some ripening to do, as it searched for a bottom and yesterday’s session appears to have brought one. The came down to bounce off of the .0522-mark, and subsequently closed at its high-of-day .0648, a 24% intraday move.

In addition to seeing some early success on the NSCT chart this week, we had the honor of conducting an exclusive interview with the company’s CEO, Mr. Michael DeLaGarza via our sister site, Stock Traders Talk. It covers quite a bit, so we suggest you visit the site, or click the following graphic to bring up the interview straight away:

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG

Our call of ISRG yesterday morning couldn’t have been much better, with the stock putting forth a heck of a performance in the ensuing session. It traded in a range from 438.55 – 463.39 on the day, and as a result, anyone who was entertaining options calls as we pointed out had the chance to make substantial gains.

The landmark session came on the heels of two morning PR’s that you may want to click through to, below:

Facebook, Inc. FB Options

Another great call of ours this week was the FB Calls that we brought to the table first thing Monday morning, stating: “We’ll be looking to capitalize on the volatility that comes with rising anticipation of earnings, due for release on Wednesday.”, and noting that we’ve used this scenario to our advantage in the past.

Wednesday came and went, earnings exceeded expectations, and our FB Calls offered up big gains just as we surmised. The stock traded in a daily range from 69.61 – 71.33, and this morning in premarket trading, has reached as high as 78.44.

To adjust our strategy on FB options, we’ll be monitoring the $75-77 Calls as we head into week’s end.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AAPL & ORFG Updates, Extended Watchlist

AAPL Options

At the risk of starting to sound like a broken record, anyone who was into the AAPL Calls that we were monitoring last week would have had a smile on their faces on Friday.

AAPL pushed its way up to highs over $644, which sent all the contracts that we were looking at into a frenzy; there were so many big gains, we won’t bore you with all of the individual figures, let’s just say that saavy traders could have managed to come away with gains on the order of several hundred percent.

Adding that performance to all of the progress in prior sessions, and AAPL easily qualifies as our biggest potential money-maker over the past few weeks.

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference begins today, and remember, there’s also a forward split coming, so there’s every chance that we have yet to see what AAPL, and more specifically, AAPL options, can really do for us.

Timeline of the Upcoming Split:

The Record Date – June 2, 2014 – determines which shareholders are entitled to receive additional shares due to the split.

The Split Date – June 6, 2014 – shareholders are due split shares after the close of business on this date.

The Ex Date – June 9, 2014 – the date determined by NASDAQ when Apple common shares will trade at the new split-adjusted price.

Orofino Gold Corp. ORFG

Our other interest from Friday also made some progress; ORFG registered higher lows and higher highs for the third consecutive day. We picked up on this play Thursday, and would observe a low of .0175 at that time. On Friday the stock pushed as high .0255, which marked a nice 46% move over the span of just two sessions.

The chart is still looking pretty ripe, as we’ve pointed out below. If ORFG can break through the channel of resistance in the .026 to .03, we could be looking at even bigger gains, so we’ll be staying tuned.
