Blue Horseshoe Stocks: APPG, RSH & OTIV Updates

Apptigo International, Inc. APPG

Our readers may recall that we tagged APPG as a potential bottom-play in Friday’s premarket report, as the stock was coming off its 52-week lows a couple of sessions prior.

We mentioned that we liked APPG “provided it can hold support above .365 in order to break the pattern of its recent downtrend”, and it did in fact maintain support above that level. We saw a daily range from .37-.43 which is equal to a 16% move, and the stock closed just a penny below its high-of-day.

We’ll be monitoring APPG as we kick off a new trading week, and looking for the stock to register higher lows and higher highs to confirm a sustained uptrend.

RadioShack Corp. RSH

Despite recent uncertainty caused by talk of possible bankruptcy proceedings, RSH did well on Friday. We’ve been tracking the stock heavily since the beginning of August, where we caught it at its 52-week low of .55.

Following a gradual incline to a high of 1.77, the stock has been under recent consolidation, and toward the end of last week we were looking for it to maintain support above its then-50DMA of .83, and it did just that.

On Friday it traded in a daily range from .86-1.00 (+16%), and closed at .91. Like the previously mentioned stock we’ll need to see RSH record higher lows and higher highs, and test its next key areas of resistance at 1.15 and 1.30.

It should go without saying that we’ll also want to keep our ear to the tracks for updates on RSH’s tenuous financial situation.

On Track Innovations Ltd. OTIV

OTIV made an appearance in Thursday’s newsletter on our extended watchlist. We saw the stock touch a low of 3.12 that morning, and then begin a gradual ascent spanning through Friday’s session as it went on to a subsequent high of 3.94 (+26%).

It’s going to remain high on watchlist today, as we’ve already seen trades in the premarket going off as high as 4.39. At that level, our total possible gain on this stock over the course of just a few sessions is expanded to 41%

Cannabis Sector Update
After an influx of new subscribers joined us over the weekend, we’d like to take this time to welcome our new friends, and try to get you up to speed as soon as possible. In a time that now spans three calendar years, we have been vigorously tracking numerous marijuana-related stocks with some very profitable results.

Last week (possibly aided by the first stores opening for sales of recreational marijuana in Colorado), the sector as a whole began to heat up once again, necessitating heavy discussion in our daily reports.  As can be expected when several sessions of frenzied uptrending carries stocks as high as we saw many of our cannabis plays, several of those stocks began to consolidate on Friday.

The exceptions were GreenGrow Technologies, Inc. GRNH, and Hemp, Inc. HEMP; High volume spread over multi-day runs often leads to high volatility as well, as in the case with HEMP, which did consolidate to a low of .021, but followed that up with a rebound back to .032, a 52% intraday swing.

GRNH continued its run from the previous session where we had witnessed a low of .045, and barreled its way to a high of .124. We’ll take overnight gains in excess of 176% any day!

As for the rest of the pot stocks we’ve been tracking that have relaxed a bit, we are still eager to see how they respond this week, and will be on the lookout for any chances we might have at bounce plays. Additionally, news of how the first week of sales went in Colorado will be sure to get even more eyes turned toward this burgeoning market sector. Check back for future updates, as we stay tuned in every step of the way.

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc. PPHM

Speaking of stocks that we’ve been tracking since 2012, PPHM has proven itself a winner for us on multiple occasions over the years, and our most recent alert is turning out to be no different. Following that last mention, we observed a low 1.35, which at this morning’s pre-market high at 1.99 represents a 37% increase.

FDA-related news out this morning could fuel a serious push in a Northerly direction, so we won’t want to take our eyes off of PPHM for one moment as trading commences this morning.

TUSTIN, CA, Jan 06, 2014 (Marketwired via COMTEX) — Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: PPHM), today announced that the company has received Fast Track designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its lead investigational immunotherapy bavituximab for the potential treatment of second-line non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

“The fast track designation is a milestone for the SUNRISE trial program and represents a step closer to bringing bavituximab to the market,” said Robert Garnick, Ph.D., head of regulatory affairs at Peregrine. “We are very pleased that the FDA has recognized the potential of this novel therapy as a treatment for this serious and devastating type of cancer and look forward to working closely with them to ensure the most efficient review process.”

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Like the rest of the mentions in today’s newsletter, our history with PLUG goes back a long time. It has brought us percentage gains which cumulatively number in the thousands, and the New Year has brought new life for this one as well. This past Thursday, we caught PLUG at a low of 1.89, and were pleased at the solid 23% move it provided to 2.33. That figure is increasing this morning, as the stock is trading as high as 2.77 in pre-market action, a gain of 47% over Thursday’s low.

Extended Watchlist:
AMMX, PROW, EXMT, SIRI, TWGP, MSTX, SEED, CPRX, OXBT

ACYD, FB Options, TWGP & Extended Watchlist

American Community Development Group, Inc.  ACYD

ACYD played out the dip-and-rip scenario that we anticipated yesterday to the letter. The stock pulled back to a low of .031, before recovering ground on up to .049, marking the chance at  up to 58% in intraday gains.

The performance was solid enough to land us atop the Penny Stock Rumble as yesterday’s #1 Stock Pick.

We easily spotted the opportunity in ACYD yesterday, and we’re taking a similar view of the stock today. It is making higher highs and higher lows on significant volume, and we will remain interested as long as that trend continues. Keep in mind, trading with a tight stop-loss is the prudent course of action on a play like this, where the stock has already exhibited greater-than-average volatility.

Facebook, Inc.  FB -Options
We saw a dip-and-rip from FB after a gap-up yesterday. The stock has been on the rebound this week, and we are looking for similar action today. In that event, we would expect the 10/11 $49 Calls to also undergo a dip-and-rip scenario. It seems a real possibility to see FB return to the $50-level or higher, which would likely cause those contracts to yield multi-bag gains. They closed at .54 yesterday, and are in the process of gapping up in pre-market trading this morning, putting us on alert for another potentially-fruitful session to close out the week.

Tower Group International, Ltd. TWGP

Earlier this week, we were looking for TWGP to make a dead-cat bounce as the stock was tanking. This morning the stock is gapping-up so we could now be witnessing what could be an opportunity-laden recovery. There is a large gap to fill on the chart to the 7.00-range. Covering even half of that gap would have us looking at sizable profits from current levels.
