Blue Horseshoe Stocks: More Big Wins, Bottom-Play

Friday’s Big Wins

We continue to pepper our readers’ inboxes with options ideas almost every day, and Friday’s report was no different. We featured a pair of fresh ideas in the ROKU and TTD chains, and hit the nail on the head with both of them to close out another solid week with strength!

The following single-session gain opportunities were there for the taking after both stocks had productive sessions on the heels of their earnings reports. TTD and ROKU took the 3rd and 6th top gainer spots, respectively, for the whole of the NASDAQ on Friday.  Out of eight sets of contracts, all eight recorded multi-bag runs on the day, with the ROKU moves being considerably more impressive.

Briggs & Stratton Corp. BGG

We want to close things out this week by commenting on Briggs & Stratton’s gap down to its lowest PPS since the the early 1990′s. While it may see more short term losses first, we still want to radar this as a bottom-watch play.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Recap, Fresh Idea & More

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY)

On Friday we were just mentioning how SPY options has been a go-to trade for us. We talked about the most recent occurrence, when we signaled some SPY Calls earlier this month that produce multi-bag gain opportunities.

We said we would be tracking the SPY Weekly $263.50-265 Calls on Friday and it should come as no shock that we once again struck it big with our favorite ETF. Each of the four contracts contained within our specified range logged huge gains on the day.

Here are the intraday moves made, and the total possible gains that were available to anyone who was following our idea:

$263.50 Calls – Range: 1.09-3.94 – Max Gain: 261%
$264 Calls – Range: .47-2.96 – Max Gain: 530%
$264.50 Calls – Range: .51-2.46 – Max Gain: 382%
$265 Calls – Range: .33-2.00 – Max Gain: 506%

Logitech International, Inc. LOGI

We’ve also taken notice of LOGI on the heels of its Q3 earnings report, wherein the company has reported record sales for the quarter, not to mention raising guidance for the full year. As a result it presently appears to be the most attractive stock on the earnings calendar.

We are going to signal a range of calls in the LOGI chain to observe in the days and weeks aheadthe LOGI 02/15 $34-35 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ATVI Review & More

Activision Blizzard, Inc. ATVI

On Friday, our primary focus was a bottom play in the form of ATVI, which had just been beaten back to its lowest prices since December of last year. Our inclination was to signal a range of longer term calls in the options chain, and we had instant results from those ideas.

All four of the contracts contained within our designated range produced single-session gains of a significant nature.

$55 Calls – Range: 3.20-5.00 - Max Gain: 56%
$57.50 Calls – Range: 2.30-3.60 – Max Gain: 57%
$60 Calls – Range: 1.40-2.68 - Max Gain: 91%
$62.50 Calls – Range: .90-1.84 – Max Gain: 104%

Aurora Cannabis, Inc. ACB

We have followed ACB for years, but this is the first time we’ve done a feature on the stock since it was ACBFF trading on the OTC Markets. The company uplisted to the NYSE, making it one of the few cannabis plays to do so.

After having been trading at a relative bottom toward the end of last month, the stock has been gaining some ground, and is gapping up a bit this morning on the heels of its quarterly earnings report.

Aurora’s revenue increased four-fold, and its earnings surpassed $100M in the first report issued by the company since the legalization of marijuana in Canada barely a month ago. We’ll be very interested to follow up with its conference call and expected guidance, as well as track it more closely through this new quarter.

Cronos Group, Inc. CRON

Speaking of earnings, CRON has a report upcoming early this week, and despite the PPS tapering back over the past couple of sessions, we’ll be interested to follow along with its post-release activity.

We tracked CRON over its recent solid 53% run from 6.50-9.95, and we’ll be eager to see if a solid earnings report can help reinvigorate the stock. We also made some great options calls on CRON last week, which we may swing back around and do again tomorrow, with favorable enough quarterly figures.

Earnings-Related Options Ideas

Our regular readers know that quick-strike options trading of plays that have just seen their quarterly earnings releases are among our favorite scenarios. The volatility afforded to us by these events is key to the type of opportunities we are commonly after.

This morning, we have NKE which has untraded-upon earnings reported in the post-market yesterday, and Carmax which dropped its report in the premarket today. We’ve got a set of bearish ideas for NKE and bullish ideas for KMX.

We’ll place the following targets on our watchlist today to monitor throughout the remainder of the week:

CarMax, Inc, KMX Weekly $77-79 Calls
Nike, Inc. NKE Weekly $83.50-81.50 Puts

_____

L.B. Foster Co. FSTR

We also have a longer term idea for the FSTR chain. As you can see on the chart snapshot we’ve included below, the stock is presently exhibiting a strong multiple-bottom.

We’re going to place the FSTR 10/19 $22.50 & $25 Calls on watch in the likely event that a recovery does occur.
