Options Review

In yesterday morning’s premarket report, we signaled our interest in tracking a pair of options ideas following earnings reports from BSX and CAT, going bullish on one and bearish on the other.

We couldn’t have called them any better, as both sets of ideas returned numerous multi-bag runs on the day, with the following potential profits on the table:

BSX Weekly $38.50-40.50 Calls
$38.50 Calls – Range: 1.38-2.21 – Max Gain: 60%
$39 Calls – Range: .99-1.80 – Max Gain: 82%
$39.50 Calls – Range: .57-1.33 – Max Gain: 133%

Harley Calls Pop & More

Harley-Davidson, Inc. HOG

Our fresh options trading idea for Harley on the heels of the company’s earnings report yesterday morning, was to track the Harley-Davidson, Inc. HOG Weekly $38.50-40 Calls. Sales fell in the company’s third fiscal quarter, but not by as much as was expected.

The report allowed HOG to buck the overall market downtrend on the day, and the move it made facilitated the following intraday opportunities in our designated contract sets:

$38.50 Calls – Range: .47-2.20 – Max Gain: 368%
$39 Calls – Range: .35-1.80 – Max Gain: 414%
$39.50 Calls – Range: .17-1.30 – Max Gain: 665%
$40 Calls – Range: .12-.99 – Max Gain: 725%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ROKU Recap & More

Roku, Inc. ROKU  – Recap

Typically, our ideas include stocks and options that are suited for short-term, quick-strike style trades. But occasionally, when the situation calls for it, we do formulate longer-term ideas.

Such was the case on the morning of September 23rd, when we tagged the ROKU 11/01 $115-118 Calls for extended observation. We provided an update on Friday of last week, but the gains experienced have since increased considerably.

$115 Calls – Range: 3.00-11.72 – Max Gain: 291%
$116 Calls – Range: 3.60-11.14 – Max Gain: 209%
$117 Calls – Range: 2.82-10.60 – Max Gain: 276%
$118 Calls – Range: 2.50-10.20 – Max Gain: 308%

Based on the stock’s premarket activity, we would expect to see these figures rise even further as we close out another trading week.

Bonus Idea: ROKU Weekly $122-123 Calls

Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. BBBY

We did include one of our typical fast-strike plays in yesterday morning’s premarket report, with our highlighting of the BBBY Weekly $13-12 Puts. That idea turned out to be extremely successful as well, with multi-bag intraday performances from both contract sets.

The $13 Puts ran from .51-1.27, marking a move of 149%, while the $12’s ran even harder, trading in a range from .10-.45 and rising by 350%

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. CBRL – Recap

First up this morning is a quick recap of the fresh options idea we formulated for yesterday morning’s premarket report. We had designated the CBRL Weekly $165-170 Calls as our targets of interest.

Two of those three contract sets produced opportunities for multi-bag gains on the day, with the third not far behind:

$165 Calls – Range: 5.25-9.57 – Max Gain:
227%
$167.50 Calls – Range: 1.20-3.50 – Max Gain: 393%
$170 Calls – Range: .56-1.45 – Max Gain: 227%

DURRECT Corp. DRRX – Recap

DRRX is a play that we began tracking last month (08/07). Following that initial report, we observed the stock trading for as little 1.22.

In the four weeks which have followed, DRRX has been a steady riser, stair-stepping its way gradually up to its new high yesterday of an even 2.00/share. That works out to a very respectable rise of 64%

Neurotrope, Inc. NTRP

We also want to shine a light on the current setup of the chart on NTRP. Poor marks on for its Alzheimer’s treatment should have pushed it down quite a bit, but there seems to be no readily apparent reason why the stock should have fallen as low as it did following the lackluster report on the company’s clinical trials.

At present the stock is hugely oversold, and from a technical standpoint alone, could begin a reversal on little more than a breath of air. Indication from the MACD suggests convergence toward a bullish cross in the making. Should enough people catch on to the present scenario and load up cheap shares at current pricing, it could happen sooner rather than later. Even a partial fill of the massive gap on the chart would mean big gain chances.

OPTIONS RECAP

We had a number of options contracts that we were tracking on Friday, and ended up having good fortune with two out of the three sets that we were watching. Both the SPY and Ford enjoyed bullish intraday moves after the markets themselves fell briefly first thing in the morning, followed by an entire day of ascent and a very strong close. Here are the highest possible gains that could have been achieved on the back of our ideas.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) Weekly $291.50-292 Calls
$291.50 Calls – Range:
.45-1.91  – Max Gain: 324%
$2292 Calls – Range: .26-1.49 – Max Gain: 473%

Ford Motor Co. F Weekly $9.50-10 Calls

$9.50 Calls – Range: .45-.95 – Max Gain: 111%
$10 Calls – Range: .07-.46  – Max Gain: 557%

It finished out one heck of a trading week for our options calls, of which we had at least seven separate sets of ideas that produced multi-bag gain opportunities, as you are welcome to confirm in our archives.

FRESH IDEA: Based on the nature of Friday’s market activity, including that very strong close, we are going to bank on another session of bullish activity for the markets at large, and put the SPY 04/29(today) $292.50-293.50 Calls on watch.
_____

Bonus Idea: SPOT Weekly $140-142 Calls

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. AXSM

We designated AXSM as a stock to watch in our report on March 26th, and after one full month of trading, we wanted to return to review its performance over that span.

From its low following our alert, which came in at 12.76, the stock has cruised steadily up to Friday’s new high of 18.13. That represented a one month upswing amounting to a total move of 42%
