Starting the Week Off Right, Keeping it Rolling

More Options Rippers:

Once again we came up with some solid options plays yesterday. A couple of the fresh ideas we formulated and passed along in our premarket report fared rather well. We led off with some SPY Puts which worked out from the outset, as the markets dragged their feet until around noon. We also had a bullish set of calls in the Coke chain which afforded ourselves and our readers a decent shot at some sizable intraday profit opportunities. The other pair of ideas from yesterday’s report were longer term calls with expiration in late May, so we’ll come back to those at a later date.

Our winning targets for the day were the SPY 04/25 $426-424 Puts and the KO Weekly $64-66 Calls, and here were the gains that were there for the taking on those:

SPY 04/25 $426-424 Puts
$426: .87-2.44 (+180%)
$425: .54-1.75 (+224%)
$424: .34-1.19 (+250%)

KO Weekly $64-66 Calls
$64: 1.33-2.29 (+72%)
$65: .70-1.45 (+107%)
$66: .31-.75 (+141%)

More Options Runners, Earnings Plays

KMX, SPY Options Recaps:

We had even more continued success with our options ideas as we reached the halfway point of this 4-day trading week yesterday, including the third successful flip on our attitudes toward the SPY, which has been very kind to us this week. The day ended with some nice results from the two sets of plays we designated for observation.

We were looking at the KMX Weekly $105-97.50 Puts, which put up some really nice figures, and the SPY 04/12 $441-444 Calls, which ran out of the gate and posted some more modest yet still very respectable gains early in the session.

The trading ranges and total potential profits that could have been banked off of those ideas were as follows:

KMX Weekly $105-97.50 Puts
$105: 4.50-11.76 (+161%)
$100: 1.65-6.80 (+312%)
$97.50: .87-4.48 (+416%)
_____

SPY 04/12 $441-444 Calls
$441:
3.40-5.61 (+65%)
$442: 2.82-4.89 (+73%)
$443: 2.27-4.15 (+83%)
$444: 1.80-3.46 (+92%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
JPM Weekly $129-127 Puts
BBBY Weekly $17.50-16 Puts
DAL Weekly $39.50-41 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Zillow on a Roll

Zillow Group, Inc. Z – Update

We’ve been tracking Zillow since last Wednesday, at which time the stock was trading at a low of 27.92. We were prompted to highlight the play after noticing some big Form-4 submissions near the bottom, with a large gap to the upside on the chart. That morning we signaled the Z 01/18 $30-40 Calls which have produced some really nice gains so far.

The stock itself, after 6 consecutive green days, attained a high of 37.20 yesterday, which marked a 33% increase in just over a week’s time. That’s fantastic volatility for a stock in this price range. That activity has led to some mind-numbing gains in our group of tracked contracts.

The following figures are the ranges  and total possible gains on those from last Wednesday, through yesterday’s highs:

$30 Calls – Range: 1.57-7.43 – Max Gain: 373%
$35 Calls – Range: .57-3.70 – Max Gain: 549%
$40 Calls – Range: .10-1.45 – Max Gain: 1350%

Bottom Watchlist

We also have a couple of longer-term bottom watch plays that we wanted to include in today’s report and monitor for potential rebounds going forward.

We are looking at both Bio-Path Holdings (BPTH) and Ampio Pharmaceitucals (AMPE) in a similar fashion today. Neither stock has shown a great deal of volatility of late, hovering around their recent relative lows for some time. Both charts also boast gaps to the upside. We’ll place this pair on recovery watch in the weeks ahead.
