MasterCraft Boat Holdings, Inc. MCFT – Fresh Idea
We’ve picked up on a very interesting chart shape in Mastercraft this morning. The stock was well on its way to a solid recovery after bouncing off of its bottom at the end of last month. Despite the company’s earnings beat yesterday, the stock saw a gap-down followed by another bottom bounce.
We are interested in tracking the MCFT 10/18 $15-17.50 Calls in the weeks ahead, which will work out quite nicely if the stock manages another rebound similar to the one it exhibited in recent weeks.
Overstock.com Inc OSTK – Recap
The last time we tagged OSTK was a couple of weeks ago, on the morning of August 27th. We had scored some solid opportunities with short-term options in its chain the week before, but that report was a simple tag on the stock itself.
Subsequent to that highlight of OSTK, the stock saw a low of 14.72. That was followed by seven consecutive bull sessions by the stock, including yesterday’s which sent OSTK to a new high 27.38. That works out to an upswing of 86% in the month of September alone.
Fresh Options Idea:

Pharma News Drives Sector
Somewhat of a reversal of fortunes has befallen major healthcare middlemen this week, and for them it’s good news. The Trump administration is doing a 180° on proposed changes to drug rebates that would have cost the healthcare industry.
The development is causing healthcare stocks to rise here in the premarket, and a few that have caught our eye in particular, are UNH, CI, and CVS. Each of these plays is flying high in early trading, so what we’re going to look for is a classic dip-and-rip scenario. Profit-taking right out of the starting gate should drive these stocks down off of their lofty premarket highs, and that’s when where we come in with the following ideas.
CVS Health Corp. CVS Weekly $57-58.50 Calls
Cigna Corp. CI $167.50-175 Calls
United Health Corp. UNH $250-255 Calls
PCG, NAVB, TRNX, OMER, ATOS, HTGM, DPLO, KBLB
Zillow Group, Inc. Z – Update
We’ve been tracking Zillow since last Wednesday, at which time the stock was trading at a low of 27.92. We were prompted to highlight the play after noticing some big Form-4 submissions near the bottom, with a large gap to the upside on the chart. That morning we signaled the Z 01/18 $30-40 Calls which have produced some really nice gains so far.
The stock itself, after 6 consecutive green days, attained a high of 37.20 yesterday, which marked a 33% increase in just over a week’s time. That’s fantastic volatility for a stock in this price range. That activity has led to some mind-numbing gains in our group of tracked contracts.
The following figures are the ranges and total possible gains on those from last Wednesday, through yesterday’s highs:
$30 Calls – Range: 1.57-7.43 – Max Gain: 373%
$35 Calls – Range: .57-3.70 – Max Gain: 549%
$40 Calls – Range: .10-1.45 – Max Gain: 1350%
We also have a couple of longer-term bottom watch plays that we wanted to include in today’s report and monitor for potential rebounds going forward.
We are looking at both Bio-Path Holdings (BPTH) and Ampio Pharmaceitucals (AMPE) in a similar fashion today. Neither stock has shown a great deal of volatility of late, hovering around their recent relative lows for some time. Both charts also boast gaps to the upside. We’ll place this pair on recovery watch in the weeks ahead.
