Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Retail Earnings Plays

Retail Earnings Ideas

Two of the biggest names jumping out to us off of the earnings calendar this morning are a couple of giants in the retail space, Target and Kohls. We want to formulate some options ideas to correspond with good reports from both companies.

Target Corp. TGT – In the case of Target, the company exceeded expectations on the street for both sales and earnings, while guidance for the remainder of 2019 was promising. That’s just the type pof release we  are always looking out for, and we are going to be tracking the TGT Weekly $75-77 Calls on the heels of this report.
_____

Kohl’s Corp. KSS – The story is much the same for Kohls. Beats on profits, sales, and earnings sent shares flying in the premarket, so we want to be ready with an idea here as well. We’ll monitor the KSS Weekly $68.50-70.50 Calls as we head into midweek.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) – Recap

Fresh for yesterday morning, we signaled some daily calls in the SPY, the SPY 03/04 $280.50-282 Calls, and despite a couple of those being too far out of the money to experience significant moves, we did see a nice performance from the $280.50 Calls. Those ran from ,28 up to .50, good for an intraday pop of 82%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CRON Review & More

Cronos Group, Inc. CRON

The last time we mentioned CRON was back on December 7th, and to kick things off this week we wanted to point out the fantastic run the stock has been on since then, even through the tumultuous end to 2018 and beginning of 2019 that was experienced by most stocks.

Subsequent to the time of our last alert, CRON was trading as low as 9.56, and the run it’s gone on since then has been incredible. It hasn’t really experienced any kind of downtrend since the week of Christmas, and on Friday, reached a new high of 21.79. That works out to a very respectable five week swing amounting to 128% For a nearly ten-dollar stock that’s an absolutely fantastic run. We’ve seen it inch higher in the premarket today, so we’ll definitely allow CRON to continue to keep its spot on watchlist.

Exxon Mobil Corp. XOM – Review

One of our fresh ideas from Friday morning’s report was the XOM Weekly $73.50-75 Calls
and we are pleased to recall the excellent performance those contracts posted on the day.

It continued a trend of multi-bag options winners that had started well before last week for us. Practically everything we’ve touched in 2019 with regard to earnings related options ideas has gone through the roof. The potential gains there for the taking were as follows:

$207.50 Calls – Range: 1.00-2.91 – Max Gain: 191%
$210 Calls – Range: .65-2.49 – Max Gain: 283%
$212.50 Calls – Range: .32-1.88 – Max Gain: 488%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PNTV, XBIT Recaps & More

The Players Network, Inc. PNTV

PNTV is a stock that we were talking about quite a bit late last year and in the beginning of 2017, and since then, the stock has made some really impressive moves.

In the span of one quarter, from March until June, the stock has risen from lows at .0232 to trade as high as .1315. That’s an incredible upswing of 466%

While many plays in the cannabis space have seen some unexpected difficulty this year, PNTV is not one of them. They recently announced progression on the joint venture they have going with MCIG on the construction of a Vegas-based grow facility.

Xbiotech, Inc. XBIT

We tagged XBIT in yesterday’s extended watchlist, and subsequently bore witness to a solid early-morning pop. The stock ran from 3.75 to 5.61 right from the starting the gate, banging out a solid 51% pop inside of the first hour of trading.

We also have to remember that in XBIT, we have a stock that was trading just a hair shy of $20 as recently as March. We’ll have to be on the lookout in the event that the recent rebound mounted by the stock is just a foreshadowing of an even larger recovery.

Ability, Inc. ABIL

We’ve been mentioning ABIL each day since last Wednesday, and it turned out to be a really nice bottom-bouncer.

We’ve thus far witnessed two definitive swings from ABIL; initially from.6298-1.69 for a 168% run, and then a dip to .90 followed by a run back to 1.60 in premarket trading today. That added another 78% swing to what we’ve observed in ABIL.

We’d like to see it set a higher low, holding the 1.15-1.25 range on any pullbacks in order to remain interested.
