Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Friday’s Movers & More

Options Review

We absolutely crushed it on the options front over the past few weeks, and the fresh ideas we floated in our premarket report on Friday morning were no exception. We signaled our interest in tracking a broad range of contracts in both the Foot Locker and Verizon chains, and most of those ideas were successful in providing traders with a chance at sizable single session gains.

Foot Locker, Inc. FL Weekly $38-42 Calls
$38 Calls –
Range: 1.17-2.98 – Max Gain: 155%
$39 Calls – Range: .45-1.94 – Max Gain: 331%
$40 Calls – Range: .20-1.00 – Max Gain: 400%

The $41 and $42 Calls ended up being too far out of the money to see any notable activity, but the contracts that did move, did so very nicely.
_______

VZ 01/19 $45-48 Calls
$45 Calls – Range: 1.08 -1.66 – Max Gain: 54%
$46 Calls – Range: .59-1.10 – Max Gain: 86%
$47 Calls – Range: .39-.67 – Max Gain: 72%
$48 Calls – Range: .23-.42 – Max Gain: 83%

In the case of Verizon, it appears the stock is getting a push from an analyst upgrade, news of special holiday deals the company is offering, and a great chart setup even before last week’s earnings beat. We seem to have come along at an opportune time, and could very well see further gains in these contracts. We’ll definitely continue to track these ideas.

Aurora Cannabis, Inc. ACBFF

Aurora was among the many cannabis stocks we highlighted a couple of weeks ago in our Cannabis Commentary report,. and between that week, and last week, the stock made a very nice run. It traded up from a low of 2.777 to a high of 5.45; a move of 96%

That was followed by a consolidation, and this week were going to want to watch out for ACBFF to find support and potentially make another run at its previous resistance point. The company also reported a possible takeover of another firm this morning, so we’re really going to keep paying close attention to Aurora this week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ATOS Recap & More

Atossa Genetics, Inc. ATOS

We’re coming back to ATOS for the third consecutive day this week, after our initial alert in Monday’s report, and on that morning we observed a low of .50, followed by a modest but solid run 27% to .636.

We mentioned this yesterday morning, subsequent to which point the stock launched into another bullish session. dwarfing Monday’s performance. It traded from a low of .65 right at the outset, to an afternoon high of 1.50, which works out to an intraday upswing of 130% and a two-day swing of 200%

We were also reminding readers of the conference call the company has scheduled for 10AM this morning at www.atossagenetics.com.
.

Caterpillar, Inc. CAT

Our post-earnings beat options ideas for CAT yesterday morning were the CAT Weekly $136-141 Calls. While every set of contracts did see upward movement, we’re only going to list the numbers for the $136-138’s, as the gains in the $139-141’s were minimal by comparison. We did however, see two separate chances for swing trades on the day.

$136 Calls – Swings: 2.75- 4.03 (+ 47%), 2.00-3.04 (+52%).
$137 Calls – Swings: 2.05-3.20, (+56%), 1.38-2.21 (+60%).
$138 Calls – Swings: 1.60-2.42 (+51%), .91-1.55 (+70%).

Fresh Idea: Walgreens Boots-Alliance Inc. WBA

We noticed WBA this morning on the premarket earnings calendar, and in addition to exceeding expectations with their quarterly report, the stock was already looking ripe for a bottom bounce.

We’re going to signal the WBA Weekly $69-70.50 Calls for observation for the remainder of the week.

Extended Watchlist:
CAPR, GRUB, MYSZ, IRBT, NSPR, LL, XNET

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DIS, TRXC Recaps & More

 TransEnterix, Inc. TRXC

We made a good catch when we included TRXC in yesterday morning’s premarket report, after it was reported that the company’s robotic surgery device got the regulatory approval it needed.

The result was a very nice run from a low of  2.15 to 3.05, the highest PPS the stock has seen since the spring of 2016. That works out to an intraday push of 42% and this morning TRXC is edging even higher in before-hours trading, so we’ll want to continue to keep an eye on it moving forward.

Walt Disney Co. DIS

We highlighted some options ideas for Disney yesterday morning, after noticing that it had  a nice bottom setup on the chart, trading near its ten-month lows.

For a near-term idea we signaled the DIS Weekly $96-98 Calls and among those five contracts, three produced opportunities for solid single-session gains.

$97 Calls – Range: 1.15-1.57 – Max Gain: 37%
$97.50 Calls – Range: .81-1.22  – Max Gain: 51%.
$98 Calls – Range: .49-.89 – Max Gain: 82%

We also noticed that the $98.50s had the highest open interest, so we will want to roll up our observed range a little and keep an eye on those for the remainder of the week.

Netflix, Inc. NFLX

We also want to put a few options contracts in the NFLX chain on watch. The stock has been in a general uptrend for nearly all of 2017, with the exception of one month between late July and late August. Currently the stock is approaching extreme overbought levels on the strength index just as it was prior to that downturn.

On the flip side, boosted guidance and a strong earnings call this morning could make things interesting. Due to these opposing factors, we’re going to want to watch some contracts on both sides of the fence, depending on NFLX’s behavior once regular market hours kick in.

If the stock can’t get above $207.50, we’re going to zero in on the NFLX Weekly $207.50 and $205 Puts. Conversely, if it holds above $200 on any pullbacks, we’ll focus on the Weekly $200-205 Calls.
