Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DIS, TRXC Recaps & More

 TransEnterix, Inc. TRXC

We made a good catch when we included TRXC in yesterday morning’s premarket report, after it was reported that the company’s robotic surgery device got the regulatory approval it needed.

The result was a very nice run from a low of  2.15 to 3.05, the highest PPS the stock has seen since the spring of 2016. That works out to an intraday push of 42% and this morning TRXC is edging even higher in before-hours trading, so we’ll want to continue to keep an eye on it moving forward.

Walt Disney Co. DIS

We highlighted some options ideas for Disney yesterday morning, after noticing that it had  a nice bottom setup on the chart, trading near its ten-month lows.

For a near-term idea we signaled the DIS Weekly $96-98 Calls and among those five contracts, three produced opportunities for solid single-session gains.

$97 Calls – Range: 1.15-1.57 – Max Gain: 37%
$97.50 Calls – Range: .81-1.22  – Max Gain: 51%.
$98 Calls – Range: .49-.89 – Max Gain: 82%

We also noticed that the $98.50s had the highest open interest, so we will want to roll up our observed range a little and keep an eye on those for the remainder of the week.

Netflix, Inc. NFLX

We also want to put a few options contracts in the NFLX chain on watch. The stock has been in a general uptrend for nearly all of 2017, with the exception of one month between late July and late August. Currently the stock is approaching extreme overbought levels on the strength index just as it was prior to that downturn.

On the flip side, boosted guidance and a strong earnings call this morning could make things interesting. Due to these opposing factors, we’re going to want to watch some contracts on both sides of the fence, depending on NFLX’s behavior once regular market hours kick in.

If the stock can’t get above $207.50, we’re going to zero in on the NFLX Weekly $207.50 and $205 Puts. Conversely, if it holds above $200 on any pullbacks, we’ll focus on the Weekly $200-205 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Momentum Plays & More

 Possible Momentum Plays

We’re looking at a pair of stocks this morning that have broken out, and that we’d like to monitor on the chance that they produce sustained uptrends.

Leading Brands, Inc. LBIX - This was a fairly illiquid stock until just recently, when it broke out of a mundane pattern of low volatility and began a run into blue skies which lasted from Tuesday through Friday. We’ll stay wary of the possibility for course corrections, but a dip-and-rip scenario could definitely come into play here in coming sessions. The volatility has ramped up in a huge way, which is what we always look out for as swing traders.
______

22nd Century Group Inc. XXII – In the case of XXII, the stock has traded in a fairly predictable pattern over the past few months, during which time it has formed a solid upward channel. The company also recently closed a $54M direct offering at 2.65/share. We’ll look for this one to continue to build, keeping an eye on it as we kick off a new trading week.

Walt Disney Co. DIS – Options Ideas

We also want to signal a couple of options ideas for Disney, which has a pretty nice bottom setup on the chart, trading near its lowest per-share pricing since December.

For a near-term idea, we’re going to be looking at the DIS Weekly $96-98 Calls and the DIS 11/24 $98-99 Calls in the event of an extended recovery, which seems due at any time now.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MJMI Recap, Options Idea & More

MarilynJean Interactive, Inc. MJMI

Our first order of business this morning is to rehash the recent performance of what has become one of our best picks of this month on the stock side of things. We first alerted MJMI exactly three weeks ago on the 4th, and would subsequently observe a low of .091 the very next session, from which the stock hasn’t looked back.

Volume has been excellent during the entire fifteen-session span that we’ve tracked the stock, and yesterday MJMI reached an amazing new high of .575. That works out to a fantastic increase of 532% in a relatively short time. A quick peek at the chart below shows the incredible move clearly.

In the event of a pullback off of this latest spike, we’ll be looking for the stock to maintain support at or above the 200DMA of .353.

Xtera Communications, Inc. XCOM

We’re always on the lookout for a good bottom-bouncer, and it appears that we’ve found an interesting candidate this morning, which has just undergone a crazy 48 hours.

The stock made a huge run yesterday off of its recently established annual lows, filling the gap on the chart and then some, before settling into close in the fifty-cent range. This morning in the premarket we’ve seen the stock changing hands in the .60-.74 range, so we’re very interested to see how the activity will unfold in-session.

We’ll want to see this morning’s premarket low of .60 hold as support on any pullbacks.

Boston Therapeutics, Inc. BTHE

We also want to provide a quick update on BTHE today, which was a mention in yesterday’s extended watchlist.

Despite not seeing any liquidity in the early part of the morning, eventually the wheels began to turn, and we saw a nice afternoon run from .125 to .17; an intraday upswing of 36%

Fresh Options Idea: Tiffany & Co. Just beat on earnings this morning, so we’ll be montioring the TIF Weekly $71-74 Calls for potential daytrades and/or swing trades into tomorrow.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Potential Bottom-Bounce Plays & More

Options Updates

Yesterday we brought a couple of fresh options ideas to the table, and in both cases, traders could have fared quite well in terms of single-session gains.

Sage Therapeutics, Inc. SAGE – Weekly $40 and $45 Calls

$40 Calls– Range: 5.40-7.80 – Max Gain: 44%
$45 Calls – Range: 1.81-4.96 – Max Gain: 174%

Shire plc SHPG – Weekly $187.50-195 Calls

$190 Calls – Range: 3.90-5.90 – Max Gain: 51%
$192.50 Calls – Range:  1.40-3.79 – Max Gain: 171%
$195 Calls – Range: 1.30-2.01 – Max Gain: 55%

Cheers go out to any of our readers who were able to take advantage of these solid intraday moves!

Potential Bottom-Bounce Plays

This morning we’ve taken notice of a couple of stocks that are trading near recent relative lows, which have also begun to show some life this week.

The Female Health Co. FHCO – We like the look of the chart on this one, which is coming off a multiple bottom and just managed to crack through and hold support above its 50DMA. The next area of resistance appears to be the channel between its recent swing high at 1.45 and the 200DMA of 1.57.

______

Nate’s Food Co. Inc. NHMD – This stock has appeared on our watchlist in the past, and today, we’re circling back around to it purely from the look of the chart. Several indicators are pointing toward the chance of some sizable upswings in sessions to come, so we’ll want to monitor the situation closely.

We’re going to want to see it get back above and hold the 200DMA at .0089 as support going forward.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review, Fresh Plays & More

PLCE Options Recap

On Tuesday, we submitted our interest in PLCE Weekly $70-75 Calls for a quick mid-week strike, and what we got instead was a supremely strong performance that lasted the remainder of the week.

On Wednesday, contracts within our target range yielded gains from 112-315% On Thursday
possible profits were a bit more subdued yet still highly respectable, giving us chances at gains ranging from 30-100% on the day.

On Friday, our idea managed to offer up yet another solid performance. The $70 Calls ran 45% intraday from 3.19-4.64, while the $72.50′s scored a double-bag-plus gain for the third straight day, spiking from .90-2.18, a 142% swing.

Breitburn Energy Partners, Inc. BBEP – Update

In Thursday morning’s premarket report we signaled BBEP as a “Bankrupt Bottom-Bouncer” slating it for observation, and the tag came with excellent timing. Despite a recent Chapter 11 filing looming, we managed to catch it at a bottom and track it over an impressive gain. Observing a low of .055 Thursday, we watched as the stock subsequently ran to a high of .11 Friday for a perfect 100% session-over-session upswing.

BBEP closed at .07, and in order for us to remain interested in the play moving forward, we’re going to need to see it maintain support at or above the channel between .06-.065 on any pullbacks.

MyDx, Inc. MYDX

We’ve taken notice of a stock that is showing a confluence of several attractive features at the moment in MYDX. What we’ve got here is a play that qualifies as a low-float, low volume, bottom-bouncer, and it’s got an interesting back story to boot.

MYDX produced a strong bounce off of its recently-recorded 52-week low (.17 on 05/18-05/19) on Friday, after crumbling for a more than 50% loss since the beginning of last week, when it was trading around .40.  We’re going to want to keep an eye peeled for signs of a continued rebound as we kick off this new trading week.

The company’s intriguing product is a chemical purity analysis tool, which you can learn all about at https://www.cdxlife.com
