Big-Time Options Winners

Looking for a Big Start to the Week

The Clorox Co. CLX – Recap

Our sole fresh options trading idea on Friday was in the CLX chain and came on the heels of the company’s earnings drop. Bleach definitely has a big role to play during the coronavirus pandemic based on a need to keep surfaces as disinfected as possible, making this a high synergy play.

The single-session gains our idea produced during Friday’s session are certainly indicative of that, with huge multi-bag rips across the board:

CLX Weekly $190-195 Calls
$190: .90-7.50 (+733%)
$192.50:  .63-5.69 (+801%)
$195: .41-3.33 (+712%)

SPDR S&P500 (ETF) SPY – Recap

We also have the final highs and total ranges on the group of SPY Puts that we signaled in Thursday morning’s premarket report. Those also turned out to be a great success, with two-day moves which also reached multi-bag status.

SPY 05/04 $291-288 Puts
$291: 2.49-9.50 (+282%)
$290:  2.14-8.60 (+305%)
$289: 1.84-7.75 (+321%)
$288: 1.54-7.00 (+355%)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: JWN Recap & More

Nordstrom Inc JWN

The first thing we want to talk about this morning is the performance of JWN on Friday following its inclusion in our premarket report. We zeroed in on the JWN Weekly $52.50-57.50 Calls for some end of the week daytrading opportunities, and came up with some really nice movers.

Strong multibag moves were there for the taking all across the board, helped out by the company’s Q2 revenues which easily surpassed expectations on the Street with the aid of a boost in sales.

$52.50 Calls
– Range: 3.00-6.60 – Max Gain:  120%
$55 Calls – Range: 1.12-4.20 – Max Gain: 275%
$57.50 Calls – Range: .19-1.69 – Max Gain: 789%

Canopy Growth Corp. CGC

For another update, we want to track back to our idea from Wednesday morning’s premarket report, the CGC 09/21 $30-40 Calls.

The stock achieved new highs on Friday, and thus our highlighted options calls continued to pile on more gains as well. Here’s the ranges and total possible profits on those contracts so far:

$30 Calls – Range: 1.76-4.50 – Max Gain: 156%
$35 Calls – Range: .56-2.00 – Max Gain: 257%
$40 Calls – Range: .16-.72 – Max Gain: 350%

Tyson Foods Inc. TSN – Review

A couple of weeks ago on August 6th, we signaled a range of TSN calls as the stock was just coming off of a bottom in the mid-$50 range. Those were the TSN 08/31 $62-63 Calls, and after a solid stretch of upward momentum, the stock reached new highs on Friday at $62.60.

That move has allowed for big gain chances in two out of three of our designated calls. The $63’s haven’t quite begun to see action just yet, but we’ve seen great moves from the $62’s, which ran from .30-.95 (+217%) and the $62.50’s which traded up from .22 to .61 (+177%)

Fresh Idea:
SPY 08/20 $284.50-286 Calls

Seven Stars Cloud Group Inc SSC

We slated SSC for observation on July 24th and the stock traded as low as 1.95 following that mention. This morning we are seeing an abnormal gap up, with the stock trading as high as 5.30 in the premarket.

So, in addition to the 172% move we have witnessed thus far, we will be on the lookout for a dip-and-rip to possibly see even more gains out of this play.

Tyson Foods Inc. TSN – Update

We started the week off yesterday by formulating some options ideas for TSN. The company had a mixed earnings call, with a beat on Q3 profits, and a miss on sales. We pointed to the technical setup of the chart as our primary reason for being interested, and as it turns out we called the bottom perfectly.

We came up with a short and longer term set of ideas, and while we may yet come back to the long terms, we are looking at the weekly calls we designated today after some solid performances. Those were the TSN Weekly $58-59.50 Calls, and all but the $58’s produced double-bag gains on the session.

$58.50 Calls – Range: .90-2.25 – Max Gain: 150%
$59 Calls – Range: .80-1.68 – Max Gain: 110%
$59.50 Calls – Range: .75-1.50 – Max Gain: 100%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Wrap-Up, Bottom Play

Options Wrap Up

After a fantastic week of options trading, which followed several weeks of the same, we continued to roll the dice with a couple of fresh day-trading ideas on Friday, and unsurprisingly got some great results from those as well.

We had the SPY Weekly $282-283 Calls on the radar and all three returned excellent multi-bag gain opportunities for the session:

$282 Calls – Range: .62-1.64 – Max Gain: 165%
$282.50 Calls – Range: .29-1.16  – Max Gain: 300%
$283 Calls – Range: .10-.67 – Max Gain: 570%

We also had included a fresh idea with the TSLA Weekly $345 Calls after absolutely crushing it with the $320-330’s earlier in the week, and those also performed nicely on the day. They traded up from a low of 2.07 all the way to 10.19, marking a whopping 392% single-session rip!

Tyson Foods Inc. TSN – Fresh Idea

We are going to kick things off this week by formulating both a short and longer-term set of options ideas for TSN. The company has just released a mixed earnings call, beating on Q3 profits, but missing on sales. Despite that, it is the technical setup of the chart that has us most intrigued.

Having been beaten back for close to two months to extreme-oversold levels, the stock began to show signs of a bottom bounce toward the end of the week, with a gap to fill on the chart from the mid-$60 to mid-$63 range.

For the possibility of quick strike chances, we’re going to monitor the TSN Weekly $58-59.50 Calls, and for a potential extended term recovery play, we’ll also keep watch over the TSN 08/31 $62-63 Calls.
