Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Form-4 Plays & More

SPDRA S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – Recap

Our first order of business this morning is to share the performance of the options we alerted on in Friday morning’s report. Those targets were the SPY Weekly $290-291.50 Calls, and they produced some very nice single session gain opportunities for ourselves and our readers.

We have typically been very good playing the SPY in the past, and this time was no different, The gains that were on the table were as follows:

$290 Calls – Range: .34-1.04 – Max Gain: 206%
$290.50 Calls – Range: .12-.58 – Max Gain: 383%
$291 Calls – Range: .20-.46 – Max Gain: 130%
$291.50 Calls – Range: .08-.19 – Max Gain: 138%

Francesca Holdings Corp. FRAN
& Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. FOLD

This morning we noticed that FRAN is exhibiting a number of traits that we normally keep a lookout for. The stock is coming off of a bottom with a large gap on the chart, and on Friday, the CEO filed a Form-4 for the purchase of 10,000 shares near the stock’s lows.

This is often a sign of high internal confidence in the stock’s ability to rebound, so we’re going to place FRAN on recovery watch in the days and weeks ahead.
_____

FOLD is another play which also currently boasts a bottom setup, with a significant amount of insider buying taking place on Thursday at its lows. We’ll definitely want to keep this one on watch as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BABA Options & More

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd BABA – Options

To kick off this brand new trading week, we are interested in tracking a range of calls in the BABA chain, after shares dipped on the news that co-Founder Jack Ma will be stepping down and handing full control over to the CEO effect next year.

The reactionary selloff may provide us with some solid options trading chances, so we are going to keep an eye on the BABA 10/12 $165 & 167.50 Calls in the days and weeks ahead.

OPKO Health Inc. OPK

Shares of OPK took a bath on Friday, briefly falling below the stock’s 200DMA, and closing well in the red on the day. We’re going to signal our interest in tracking OPK as a bottom-watch play.

The stock is approaching extremely oversold territory, and in the midst of its downturn we observed some Form-4 submissions, with insiders buying up shares on Friday as the bottom fell out.

That suggests a confidence that it may not have much further to fall, so we will want to hang around as OPK searches for a bottom and solid rebound point.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CGC Review & More

Canopy Growth Corp. CGC

We are incredibly proud of our alert on CGC a few weeks ago. The company had just seen its large investor, beverage behemoth Constellation Brands (STZ) had increased its stake Canopy by more than $4B.

This was a key factor in our formulation of the idea to track the CGC 09/21 $30-40 Calls, which we presented to our readers on the morning of August 15th. At the time, CGC stock was trading at a low of 29.05. The bull run which followed has been an absolute thing of beauty. This morning in the premarket, CGC stock has traded for as much as 57.05, marking a rise of 96% in a matter of three weeks.

That incredible move up has facilitated some unbelievably large gains in our designated call contracts. Their overall ranges and possible gains over that time span are as follows:

$30 Calls – Range: 1.76-21.82 – Max Gain: 1140%
$35 Calls – Range: .56-17.30 – Max Gain: 2989%
$40 Calls – Range: .16-12.30 – Max Gain: 7587%

Fun Fact: The purchase of ONE contract for $16 at the $40 strike point on the day of our initial alert, would have been worth $1214 at its highs this morning!  Cheers to anyone who has gotten even a piece of that action!
__________

Added Note: Canopy Growth is of course a cannabis related stock, so while we’re on the subject, here’s watchlist of lower priced pot plays to also watch as we head into autumn, traditionally one of the best times of year for the cannabis sector as a whole.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HPE, AEO Earnings Ideas & More

DSW, Inc. DSW – Recap

Among our fresh options trading ideas from yesterday morning were the DSW 09/21 $30 & $35 Calls. We noticed the company reported strong quarterly figures, and took advantage.

There were two separate intraday opportunities to be had in the $30 Calls, which first went from 3.00-4.30 (+43%), pulled back, and made another similar move from 2.25-3.30 (+46%). The $35 Calls fared the best, producing a chance at gains of up to 138% as they ran from .40-.95.
_______

More Fresh Options Ideas:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. HPE Weekly $16.50 & $17 Calls
American Eagle Outfitters Inc. AEO Weekly $28-26.50 Puts

CEL-SCI Corp. CVM

We also wanted to quickly make mention of CVM, which we tagged for observation one week ago today. The stock has since produced a notable bullish push. Its low of 1.36 gave way to a new high of 2.46 yesterday, marking a one week upswing of 81%

The move filled the majority of the large gap on the chart, but not quite completely, so we’ll leave the stock on our radar to see if it can continue its recent uptrend.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Eye-Popping Profits Pouring In!

Canopy Growth Corp. CGC

It’s been just under two weeks since we alerted readers that we were interested in the CGC 09/21 $30-40 Calls. This was as a direct result of beverage behemoth Constellation Brands’ (STZ) adding a multi-billion dollar block to its stake in CGC.

CGC shares themselves have risen 66% over the same period, from a low of 29.05 to yesterday’s new high of 48.19.

What this continued bullish surge has done for our options ideas has been nothing short of eye-popping. The update ranges and total possible gains so far are as follows:

$30 Calls – Range: 1.76-18.20 – Max Gain: 934%
$35 Calls – Range: .56-13.90 – Max Gain: 2382%
$40 Calls – Range: .16-8.75 – Max Gain: 5369%

The $40′s especially have obliterated our wildest expectations. A paltry $16 investment on a single $40 Call contract at the lows, would have been been worth roughly $859 at the highs!

FRESH IDEAS

As you can very plainly see, options are where the biggest potential profits lie, so we will of course be offering up a couple of fresh ideas this morning.

Both TIF and DSW are coming off of good receptions in the wake of their quarterly earnings reports today. We’ll take that into account and keep the following plays on watch:

Tiffany & Co. TIF Weekly $136-140 Calls
DSW, Inc. DSW 09/21 $30-35 Calls
