Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options, Updates & More

Options Ideas

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA- After raising revenue guidance by nearly 50%, there has been a mad scramble for shares of BABA in the premarket this morning with the stock shooting up over $15. Whenever we see a feeding frenzy like this, we like to set up camp with some options ideas in an attempt to take advantage of the bullish commotion.

In this case, we’re going to signal the BABA Weekly $140-145 Calls which should do pretty well if the current trajectory is any indicator. Whenever a stock has gapped up this hard, we must be on the lookout for an early pullback into a dip-and-rip pattern, which can happen in these sorts of situations.
____

Yahoo! YHOO – Also gapping up in the premarket considerably is YHOO, and we’re going to keep an eye on a range of contracts here as well. We’ll have the YHOO Weekly $53-56 Calls on watch today.

Bottom-Watchlist Updates

Dragonwave, Inc. DRWI -  We had DRWI on yesterday’s bottom-bouncer watchlist and it’s looking like a really solid play so far. DRWI traded in an intraday range from .94 to 1.24 for a solid 32% move on 9X the 30-day average volume. Not too bad for our first day of observation. We’ll continue to watch DRWI for a continuation of this rebound pattern.
____

Ability, Inc. ABIL- We caught ABIL gapping up slightly off of its own bottom yesterday and it made a very nice move for us. The stock traded in a range from .6298-.91, for a solid 44% pop on 20X the monthly average volume.

Side Note – Caravana Co. CVNA
- We’ll also want to keep a continued eye on CVNA, which we tagged in yesterday’s extended watchlist. It traded up from 10.50-12.83 on the day, and hit 13.03 in the premarket this morning. That’s an increase of 24% and it came on more than four times the three-month average volume.

Coin Citadel CCTL

Among the plays we signaled in a bitcoin-related watchlist we formulated at the end of May while bitcoin prices were going haywire, was CCTL. We’ve actually been tracking this play for a lot longer than that if you refer to the CCTL Tag on our blog.

As recently as May 23rd, this stock was trading at the bottom of the barrel with a .0001 share price, and it has made just the kind of moves that one might expect from a super-subpenny play that suddenly finds itself in the middle of one of the trendiest market spaces.

Yesterday, we observed CCTL trading as high as .0008, which of course marks a rise of 700% over our witnessed lows in the space of ten trading days. We’re going to want to keep an eye on the stock, and be on the lookout for a key break into the double-zero range.

Bottom-Watchlist

We’re always searching for a good bottom play, and we’ve got a few to add to our watchlists this morning.

Dragonwave, Inc. DRWI – Up considerably in the premarket and moving to fill a previous gap on the chart this morning is DRWI. The company recently closed a hefty round of funding, which may explain the circumstances which led to it recording a new 52-week low yesterday. The company did, however, announce it has been awarded a big product supply and installation services contract from SmartSky Networks, a North American 4G LTE in-flight service provider. (>>View PR)
____

Ability, Inc. ABIL
- Also gapping up to a lesser degree in the premarket is ABIL. We’ll want to keep a good eye on this one, as it recently registered a new annual low. If the activity boost we’re seeing this morning develops into a more sustained trend, we could be catching the stock just in time for a recovery.
____

Sugarmade, Inc. SGMD – Sugarmade is coming off of a bottom on the chart as well, trending up moderately for the month of June so far. This morning the company announced it had received purchase orders for hydroponic growing equipment that could yield as much as $3M this year. (>>View PR)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TBIO Recap & More

Transgenomic, Inc. TBIO

After noticing the stock’s significant premarket bullishness, we placed TBIO in yesterday morning’s report, and it’s a good thing that we did. It responded with a meteoric rise on the day en route to a very strong close.

TBIO traded in a daily range from a low of .67 up as high as 1.27, making intraday gains of up 90% possible, and the activity came on a torrent of volume, in the neighborhood of more than 37X the 3-month average volume.

TBIO continued to plow upward in post-market trading, and this morning has changed hands for as much as 1.64 a share in the premarket. Given the present circumstances, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the stock attain new highs once again today.

Puration, Inc. PURA

We were also keeping an eye on PURA, listing it in yesterday’s watchlist, and the stock recorded a modest yet solid session. On roughly eight times the monthly average, it traded up from a low of  .037 to .0482, a 30% increase.

PURA has been on a fairly steady upswing for most of this month so far, yesterday’s activity just being an extension of that pattern, so we’ll be on the lookout for a continuation of that current trend.

Ampliphi Biosciences Corp. APHB

We want to signal APHB as a possible bottom-bounce play this morning. Between it just showing a flicker of life off of recent relative lows, and the fact that it was trading at triple its current value just three months ago, we definitely want to keep this one on watch.

We’ve included a snap of the current chart, which illustrates what we’re talking about. This has the potential to become a solid recovery play in the days and/or weeks ahead.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NFLX, MCD Options Recaps & More

Options Recaps

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – We persisted in tracking the NFLX options idea that we formulated on Tuesday for the remainder of the week, and they ended up performing great yet again on Friday.  If you recall, our designated targets were the NFLX Weekly $117-120 Calls, and they didn’t have a down day all week.

The following figures indicate the lows we observed on Tuesday morning, and the subsequent highs reached during Friday’s session. What we were faced with were four incredible intraweek increases:

$117 Calls – Range: 2.19-10.77 – Max Gain: 392%
$118 Calls – Range: 1.43-10.02 – Max Gain: 601%
$119 Calls – Range: 1.03-8.87 – Max Gain: 761%
$120 Calls – Range: 1.07-7.83 – Max Gain: 631%

______

McDonalds Corp. MCD - Our highlighted range of MCD Weekly $113-115 Calls was fresh for Friday’s session, and it bore fruit as well. While we didn’t sweep the range in terms of hefty gains, the $113′s in particular did provide a nice chance to profit on the day.

Those calls traded in a range from .33 and shot to 1.43, allowing for  single-session gains of up to 333%

Agritek Holdings, Inc. AGTK

Subsequent to the alert we put out on AGTK last month on the 14th, we would observe an overall low of .003, and the stock has never fallen below that level since. In fact, what began as a subpenny play, has rumbled its way to multiple pennies after a fantastic performance last week.

Running to a new high of .0298 on Friday, the stock registered an overall increase of 893% over our observed low, and with a strong close at .028, we’ll be on the lookout for some momentum spillover into this week. The possibility of a dip-and-rip forming on the chart also appears to be a plausible scenario, so we’ll be on our toes watching for that possibility as well.

AGTK is also a part of the cannabis sector, which of course we’ve been watching more intently, and plan to continue doing so leading into election day the week after next.

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc. PPHM

This is another familiar play for us, and we want to tag it for closer observation again this morning on the strength of both a fresh PR hitting the wires along with an attractive technical setup on the chart.

As you can see below, the stock has recorded a higher low in each of the last five sessions since coming off a bottom, and indicators suggest that things could heat up for this play at any time. We’ll keep an eye peeled.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SNTA Recap, Options & More

Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. SNTA

After catching a PR containing some big merger news for SNTA yesterday morning, we decided to include the stock in our premarket report, and it turned out to be a good decision.

On just under 12X the 3-month average trading volume, SNTA ran from a daily low of .32 up to .45 inside of the first 90 minutes of the session. That registered as a respectable intraday spike of 41% As measured to this morning’s premarket high of .488, that figure is extended to 53%

We’ll have our eyes peeled for another push this morning. The type of volume that we witnessed yesterday coupled with the stock holding more than 50% of its daily gains, puts SNTA into the category of a possible momentum play.

______

Bonus Pharma Watchlist:

We are also going to be monitoring the activity in a couple of other pharma stocks in coming sessions:  Aoxing Pharmaceutical Co., Inc. AXN and Eleven Biotherapeutics, Inc. EBIO

EBIO is reportedly another reverse-merger candidate that caught a wave of momentum on the heels of yesterday’s big news, and AXN is showing a double-bottom signal and has been making headway trading up off of its lows for the past few sessions. We’ll want to monitor both of these plays into next week.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – Fresh Options Idea

It wouldn’t be a typical Friday without a end-of-week options idea, so we’re going to turn to one of our classic targets- the SPY. Here in the premarket we’ve observed a low of 207.58. How we’ll want to play it is this: Should the SPY maintain support at 207.50 or above on any early pullbacks, we’re going to be interested in the Weekly $207.50-208 Calls. In the event it fails to hold support a that point, we’ll look to the Weekly $208-207.50 Puts.

*CAUTION: Trading weekly options on Friday is commonly a very high risk proposition. To be attempted by advanced traders only!
