Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options, Updates & More

Seagate Technologies plc. STX -We’re interested in the situation with STX this morning after the company impressed with its post-market earnings report yesterday. Expectations were exceeded for revenues and earnings-per-share, while a bullish outlook for the remainder of 2017 was provided.

Our first inclination here would be to place the STX Weekly $41-43.50 Calls on watch for the rest of the week in an attempt to ride the wave of enthusiasm for the company’s impressive quarterly figures.

General Electric Co. GE – GE showed signed of a possible reversal yesterday as it began to rebound off of the precipitous decline effected by Friday’s underwhelming earnings report.

The stock perhaps over-corrected with its PPS loss of more than a dollar between Friday and Monday, and we’re interested in potentially hitching a ride with some extended-term options calls.  Provided the stock doesn’t fall further than the $30-mark on any pullbacks, we’ll be tracking the GE 03/03 $30-31.50 Calls.

Heron Therapeutics, Inc. HRTX – Form-4 Alert

We always glance at the chart of a play for which there are insider buys of a significant nature, and that’s just how we’d classify the Form-4 that came in on HRTX late last week.

Director Kevin Tang executed an order for nearly $30M worth of HRTX stock at the stock’s 52-week low of 12.20, per the filing (>>View Here).

We’ll be very interested to see if that indeed was the bottom on this play, which has a relatively recent track record of making volatile swings to more than $20.

Added Note: Puration, Inc. PURA

We also want to provide a quick update as to the progress of PURA, which we initially signaled on Thursday the 12th, subsequently witnessing a low of .03.

Yesterday, despite tapering back slightly into the close, the stock did achieve new highs for us, reaching as much as .094 during the session, a new 52-week high. It extended our observed range on the play in just a few week’s time to an impressive 213%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Fresh Options Ideas, LEXG & More

Lithium Exploration Group, Inc. LEXG

We’ve been tracking the activity in LEXG for quite a time, and the volatility and price action in this play has provided for us on more than one occasion.

Yesterday was yet another of those occasions, with the stock putting in a solid performance. LEXG traded in a range from .0036-.0045, an intraday move of 25% which came on a little over thrice the monthly average volume.

The moves we’ve seen since putting LEXG on watch in December have been significantly more impressive as well. We saw a low of .0013 around the holidays, putting our overall observed increase in just over three weeks at 246%

Options Ideas

We’ve been so wrapped up in tracking various stocks over the first couple weeks of 2017, that the following will be our first options ideas of the year!

Netflix, Inc. NFLX -  NFLX has been generally trending upward for around two months, hitting new all-time highs this week. Yesterday’s earnings and updates, including the fact that the streaming giant had added a record 7 million new subscribers over the last quarter.

We want to potentially take advantage of a continued run, even if its preceded by a dip-and-rip pattern. As long as it holds support above the $139 mark, we’re going to interested in tracking the NFLX Weekly  $139-143 Calls.

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – TSLA is another big board stock that has been on a bullish tear of late. The stock has been stacking gains on top of gains over the past 6 weeks.

This morning, it received an upgrade from Morgan Stanley, and we’ll hope to use that added attention to see some more good moves in the stock. Accordingly, we’ll have the TSLA Weekly $240-245 Calls on watch today and tomorrow.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PPCH Breakout & More

Propanc Health Group, Inc. PPCH

It didn’t require any patience on our part before we saw our bottom-watchlist from yesterday morning’s premarket report bear fruit. What we have in PPCH is an example of absolutely perfect timing.

After being mostly in a downtrend for a period that stretches all the way back to springtime, we ended up calling the bottom here with laser-like precision. The stock bulled its way up all day long, trading in a range from .008, through the penny barrier, and up to .017. That works out to an intraday pop of 112% and it came on nearly six times the monthly average volume.

The stock also managed to close just a tick below its high of day at .016, so we’re definitely going to be on the lookout for continued momentum. Yesterday wasn’t the first time we caught this play for triple-digit gains, and in all honesty, it probably won’t be the last.

Twitter, Inc. TWTR – Options Recap

In last Thursday’s morning report,  we presented an options idea for TWTR based on the setup of the chart; at the time it was trading in the mid-$18 range.

We put forth the TWTR 01/20 $19 and $20 Calls, to give ourselves the time needed to realize the upward move we suspected the stock would make, and it turned out to be another good idea. We saw a run to the mid-$19 level, and it facilitated the following performances in our target options:

01/20 $19 Calls – Range: .80-1.64 – Max Gain: 105%
01/20 $20 Calls – Range: .51-1.19 – Max Gain: 133%

Again, with that extended expiration date, we’ve still got all the time in the world to witness even further gains out of these contracts. That should start with with this morning’s opening bell, as TWTR is gapping up in the premarket once again.

Fresh Idea:

Lululemon Athletica, Inc. LULU – On the strength of a solid Q3 earnings release and the authorization of a $100M buyback program, LULU is looking strong, and we want to get in on the action by formulating a new options idea to correspond with the activity.

Yesterday the stock broke out of the channel, from roughly $54-58, that it had been stuck in for several weeks, so we’re going to be focusing our attention on the LULU Weekly $66.50-70 Calls.

MJP International Ltd. MJPI

We also want to recap the performance of another play from yesterday’s extended watchlist. MJPI appeared for the first time in our reports, and responded with a solid session.

From a low of .85 the stock traded as high as 1.18, marking a 39% pop on the day and like the aforementioned play, it too closed just a single increment below the high of day at 1.17, and will thus remain on our list going forward.

Options Updates

We’ve signaled a number of options ideas recently, and would like to take an opportunity this morning to go over the types of gains that they’ve produced this week. Each of them has an extended term remaining until expiration and will continue to remain on our wathlist moving forward.

On Monday we presented the PODD 01/20 $35 Calls for observation, and in the ensuing two sessions, we’ve witnessed a solid 48% move from 2.00 up to 2.95.

Yesterday, we added the GDDY 01/20 $36 Calls into the mix, and saw a fantastic first-day performance out of those. From a low of .85, they ran as high as 1.75, for a single session double-bag rip of 106%

Added Options Notes: Ideas from last week that have yet to make their moves but are still on our watchlist include the TWTR 01/20 $19 and $20 Calls, as well as the ITUB 01/20 $11 Calls. With six weeks remaining until expiration, there’s still plenty of time for these play to display the activity we’re after.

Bottom Watchlist

It’s tax loss selling season as the year’s-end holidays rapidly approach, and that means increased liquidity for many stocks. It’s also a time when we look for the increased activity as a catalyst for bargain basement type plays to see nice moves off of their 52-lows. So here are a handful of stocks trading at or near their annual low points to watch for possible bottom bounces over the next few weeks:

Bravo Multinational, Inc. BRVO

Orbital Tracking Corp. TRKK

Electronic Cigarettes International Group, Inc. ECIG

Propanc Health Group, Inc. PPCH

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NFLX, MCD Options Recaps & More

Options Recaps

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – We persisted in tracking the NFLX options idea that we formulated on Tuesday for the remainder of the week, and they ended up performing great yet again on Friday.  If you recall, our designated targets were the NFLX Weekly $117-120 Calls, and they didn’t have a down day all week.

The following figures indicate the lows we observed on Tuesday morning, and the subsequent highs reached during Friday’s session. What we were faced with were four incredible intraweek increases:

$117 Calls – Range: 2.19-10.77 – Max Gain: 392%
$118 Calls – Range: 1.43-10.02 – Max Gain: 601%
$119 Calls – Range: 1.03-8.87 – Max Gain: 761%
$120 Calls – Range: 1.07-7.83 – Max Gain: 631%

McDonalds Corp. MCD - Our highlighted range of MCD Weekly $113-115 Calls was fresh for Friday’s session, and it bore fruit as well. While we didn’t sweep the range in terms of hefty gains, the $113′s in particular did provide a nice chance to profit on the day.

Those calls traded in a range from .33 and shot to 1.43, allowing for  single-session gains of up to 333%

Agritek Holdings, Inc. AGTK

Subsequent to the alert we put out on AGTK last month on the 14th, we would observe an overall low of .003, and the stock has never fallen below that level since. In fact, what began as a subpenny play, has rumbled its way to multiple pennies after a fantastic performance last week.

Running to a new high of .0298 on Friday, the stock registered an overall increase of 893% over our observed low, and with a strong close at .028, we’ll be on the lookout for some momentum spillover into this week. The possibility of a dip-and-rip forming on the chart also appears to be a plausible scenario, so we’ll be on our toes watching for that possibility as well.

AGTK is also a part of the cannabis sector, which of course we’ve been watching more intently, and plan to continue doing so leading into election day the week after next.

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc. PPHM

This is another familiar play for us, and we want to tag it for closer observation again this morning on the strength of both a fresh PR hitting the wires along with an attractive technical setup on the chart.

As you can see below, the stock has recorded a higher low in each of the last five sessions since coming off a bottom, and indicators suggest that things could heat up for this play at any time. We’ll keep an eye peeled.
