Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big Options Success & More

Huge Options Success

We went all-in on the options front on Friday, with both of our primary focal points being high-risk options plays, and the rewards were considerable. Both sets of ideas turned out to be successful, regardless of the strike prices chosen.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd BABA – On Friday morning, we were just patting ourselves on the back for Thursday’s successful alert of the BABA Weekly $162.50-170 Calls which had provided some nice gain opportunities on the order of 119-311% Those figures were nice, but they paled in comparison to Friday’s performances. We did specify that we’d want to “continue to keep our eye on these plays to close out the week, as further increases are a possibility.”

“Further increases” may be the understatement of the year. Explosions would have been a more accurate term! Our highlighted range actually contained an ultra-rare FIFTY-bagger, so anyone who had been following our BABA options coverage had a chance to make a mint!

$244.50 Calls – Range: 2.00 – 6.95   – Max Gain: 247%
$245 Calls – Range: .53-4.41 – Max Gain: 732%
$245.50 Calls – Range: .10-2.18 – Max Gain: 2980%
$246 Calls – Range: .01-.51 – Max Gain: 5000%

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc  WMT – Our other options focus from Friday was for Walmart, with the WMT Weekly $79.50 & $80 Calls. An early run by the stock created the necessary volatility to push our ideas to multi-bag status inside of the first hour.

The $79.50 Calls were the big winner there, running from .19-.86 for an intraday pop of 353% The $80′s weren’t too far behind with a solid push from .15-.46; a gain of 207%

China Information Technology Inc. CNIT

We saw a wave of increased activity in several China-based plays on Friday, and CNIT is one among them that seems worthy for observation as we kick off another trading week this morning.

We like the chart setup- the stock had a really solid run from May to June after which there was a consolidation, and has recently been showing strength off of its established support in the mid-.80′s. There was also a recent bullish breach of the 50DMA.

The company will need to get and keep its shares above $1.00 to satisfy NASDAQ’s minimum bid requirements, and we think there’s a fair chance of that happening.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: IDXG Keeps Rolling & More

Interpace Diagnostics Group, Inc. IDXG

Yesterday morning, we were mentioning our call of IDXG from last Thursday, and subsequent run from a low of .72 to more than a dollar. It had reached a new high at 1.28 in the premarket and we said we wanted to see it register higher highs and higher lows en route to a more sustained rebound.

So far we’ve gotten just what we were looking for from IDXG, with the stock posting an intraday run of 24% from 1.17-1.54 for yesterday’s session. It pushed the overall move we’ve observed in under a week’s worth of trading into double-bag territory, having risen 114% thus far.

It was helped along by yesterday’s announcement that a large healthcare provider would be covering the company’s thyroid cancer screening tests, which is now covered for up to 250 million Americans. We’ll continue to keep a spot on our radars for IDXG, which was trading over the $2-mark as recently as May.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd - Options Idea

Shares of BABA are streaking to new highs this morning as the company posted a solid beat on profits and revenue in its premarket earnings report.

The last time we visited an idea in the BABA chain was back on June 8th, when we signaled $140-145 Calls and saw them register single-session gains ranging from 1167-3160% so we are definitely familiar with what can happen in an ideal situation.

Today, given the fact of another similar scenario where earnings lead to a large gap up into blue skies, we’re going to be tracking contracts in the range of the BABA Weekly $162.50-170 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: IDXG Recap & More

Interpace Diagnostics Group, Inc. IDXG

Prior to yesterday morning’s report, we last mentioned IDXG last Thursday, and the stock has made quite a nice upswing from between then and now. We witnessed a low of .72 in IDXG subsequent to our alert last week. Yesterday’s session carried the stock from .8825-1.13, for an intraday push of 28% and a total move off of last week’s lows amounting to 57%

This morning in premarket trading IDXG reached yet another new high at 1.28 extending our total observed range in under a week to 78% We’ll look for IDXG to continue to register higher highs and higher lows and put together a more sustained rebound.

 Urban Outfitters- Options Idea

It’s been over a year since our last options idea for the URBN chain, which incidentally yielded multi-bag profit opportunities.

We’re going to come back to URBN this morning on the heels of the company’s post-market earnings report, the effects of which have boosted the stock considerably here in the premarket.

We’re going to play it the way we normally do in these instances where an earnings beat causes a rapid gap-up, and be on the lookout for a dip-and-rip pattern. We’ll be tracking the activity in the URBN Weekly $19-20.50 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EKSO New Highs & More

Ekso Bionics Holdings, Inc. EKSO

What started as a nominal gainer that came off of our extended watchlist on Wednesday, EKSO rolled its 37% performance over into yesterday’s session, carrying on the multiday action. After a  strong close at 1.81 on Thursday, we said we’d be interested in continuing to track EKSO as we head into week’s end, and it was a great idea.

The stock continued its ascent to a new high  and reached 2.18. From Wednesday’s low of 1.40, it works out to a respectable two day swing of 56% Just as we mentioned yesterday, the stock closed strong again, and we’ll want to keep monitoring for higher highs and higher lows .

Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. VRX – Options Idea

Valeant has been working its way down to an area of relative support recently, consolidating after a nice run off of its 52-week lows from April to May. This morning in the premarket, we’ve taken notice of the fact that VRX is gapping up considerably in the premarket.

We want to be waiting in the wings with an options idea to take advantage of the action following what could very well be an early dip-and-rip formation. We’ve called VRX and a ton of other such stocks in these positions, and done very well in the past.

We’ll be looking to the VRX Weekly $12 and 12.50 Calls* for possible swing trades today.

*We never include mentions of weekly options contracts on a Friday without explicitly warning our readers that trading weekly options at the end of the week is a hugely risky proposition that should not be attempted unless you are an expert trader!

Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AMPE

We want to point out a possible momentum play in AMPE. We’ve talked about this stock in the past, and as you can see from the included chart snapshot, it has been mounting a decent rebound effort off of a double bottom over the past few sessions.

We’re going to place AMPE on watch into next week, as a similar move to the one exhibited by the stock earlier this spring would mean considerable gains from this point.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Watchlist & More

Coin Citadel CCTL

Among the plays we signaled in a bitcoin-related watchlist we formulated at the end of May while bitcoin prices were going haywire, was CCTL. We’ve actually been tracking this play for a lot longer than that if you refer to the CCTL Tag on our blog.

As recently as May 23rd, this stock was trading at the bottom of the barrel with a .0001 share price, and it has made just the kind of moves that one might expect from a super-subpenny play that suddenly finds itself in the middle of one of the trendiest market spaces.

Yesterday, we observed CCTL trading as high as .0008, which of course marks a rise of 700% over our witnessed lows in the space of ten trading days. We’re going to want to keep an eye on the stock, and be on the lookout for a key break into the double-zero range.

Bottom-Watchlist

We’re always searching for a good bottom play, and we’ve got a few to add to our watchlists this morning.

Dragonwave, Inc. DRWI – Up considerably in the premarket and moving to fill a previous gap on the chart this morning is DRWI. The company recently closed a hefty round of funding, which may explain the circumstances which led to it recording a new 52-week low yesterday. The company did, however, announce it has been awarded a big product supply and installation services contract from SmartSky Networks, a North American 4G LTE in-flight service provider. (>>View PR)
____

Ability, Inc. ABIL
- Also gapping up to a lesser degree in the premarket is ABIL. We’ll want to keep a good eye on this one, as it recently registered a new annual low. If the activity boost we’re seeing this morning develops into a more sustained trend, we could be catching the stock just in time for a recovery.
____

Sugarmade, Inc. SGMD – Sugarmade is coming off of a bottom on the chart as well, trending up moderately for the month of June so far. This morning the company announced it had received purchase orders for hydroponic growing equipment that could yield as much as $3M this year. (>>View PR)
