Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big News for KRFT & More

Kraft (KRFT) to Merge With Heinz
In a move that will effectively create the third-biggest food company on the North American continent, it has been announced that Kraft Foods Group Inc. (KRFT) and H.J. Heinz Co. will merge. 3G Capital and Berkshire Hathaway, which bought Heinz for $23B and took it private back in 2013, will be orchestrating the deal.

As a result of this development, KRFT is gapping up monstrously in the premarket to the tune of more than 30% Generally when we see a stock soar on news like this, our first instinct is to continually scan for a dip-and-rip scenario once the session commences. When the rip does occur, we’re going to be looking to April $75-85 Calls for intraday options trading possibilities.

Social Media Sector on Watch

Despite uncertainly over whether interest rates will be raised this year causing a general downturn in the markets, social media stocks appeared to be an exception yesterday.

We’re always looking for trends to exploit for options trading, and should Facebook, Inc. FB, Twitter, Inc. TWTR, and LinkedIn Corp. LNKD continue their hot hand this week, we could see some nice action in the following contracts:

FB Weekly $84-86 Calls
TWTR Weekly $50-52 Calls
LNKD Weekly $260-265 Calls

Vascular Biogenics, Inc. VBLT

VBLT is another gapper this morning that has surged in the premarket following the company Q4 earnings release. The stock briefly spiked to its 50DMA of 8.65 in early trading, and appears as if it will open in the 6.50’s.

We will look to see VBLT re-break the $7-mark once the session kicks off, as there is a large gap on the chart as we point out below, the filling of which would make for some highly notable gains. It’s definitely a stock we want to keep on our radar as we cruise through mid-week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Recapping RPI & JNUG

Roberts Realty Investors, Inc. RPI

RPI was a standout from yesterday’s extended watchlist; it began the day trading at an early low of .86 before gradually building throughout the session to a high of 1.16. The move marked the chance at up to 38% in intraday gains for us, and came on substantial volume to the tune of 36X the 3-month average.

The move came following a PR on Wednesday that iterated the details of a purchase agreement with A-III Investment Partners LLC, whereby the company intends to purchase $12M worth of RPI, giving a tentative execution price estimate of 1.40/share. >>> Full PR

For that reason, we will allow RPI to remain on our watchlist for the time being. A move to the figure mentioned in Wednesday’s PR would mean added gains of more than 35% from the present level.

Direxion Daily Jr Gld Mnrs Bull 3X ETF (JNUG)

JNUG continued to perform well for us following its inclusion in yesterday’s report, making a modest yet notable 13% intraday move from a low of 4.86 and peaking at 5.50. This ETF has offered us the chance at several swing trade opportunities in the weeks since we first began tracking it in October, and like we said yesterday, will remain of interest as we approach a time of year when worldwide gold demand is generally at a high level.

We’re seeing a significant gap-up this morning as well into the 5.80-range. The recent low we’ve seen from JNUG came on November 5th at 2.84, meaning that in a span of just over two weeks, we’ve already witnessed a greater-than 100% increase.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DRL Update & More

Doral Financial Corp. DRL

We tagged DRL on Wednesday via our Extended Watchlist as the stock was coming off of a bottom. The low we observed came in at 5.23, shortly before DRL surged up, cutting a path all the way to 7.10, an initial spike of 35%

That led into yesterday’s session where we’d see another sizable swing, as the stock came back to bounce off of support at 5.33, and subsequently ran back to 6.06 (+14%).

We’re interested in following this play over a longer term because of what they have going on behind the scenes. It was ruled by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico that the evidential hearing in Doral’s case against the Puerto Rican government be expedited. It is alleged that Puerto Rico owes the lender a sum of $229 million. If repayment is ordered, it could add big numbers to the company’s balance sheet, so this is one play that we’re going to want to monitor closely going forward.

You can find out more about the case of Doral vs. Puerto Rico at www.doralpuertoricofacts.com

RF Micro Devices, Inc. RFMD

RFMD is another stock we’re paying attention to, as it has gained ground in large strides this week on the heels of shattered expectations with regard to the release of the company’s quarterly figures. They saw a quarterly revenue increase of more than 23% setting a new record of $316.3 Million. There were a number of other highlights as well which you can read in the PR- we’ll provide the link below.

As a result of the news, the stock is in the midst of a heavy surge, and is gapping up significantly in premarket trading today. In scenarios such as these where a stock runs unusually hard, we like to wait for the inevitable profit-taking to occur, driving the price back down where we can accumulate cheaper shares and sell them for quick-strike profits on the subsequent bounce. It’s a strategy that has served us well many times in the past.

Side Note:

This also turned out to be another great week with regard to our options trading ideas. Our FB and ISRG Options Calls provided us with multiple chances for gains, from multiple angles. Cheers to anyone who was also able to take advantage of some great calls. We wish you a pleasant weekend, and we’ll see everyone bright-and-early on Monday morning to do it all over again!

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NSCT Exclusive CEO Interview

Cloud Medical Doctor Software Corp. NSCT

We’ll start things off this morning by turning our attention back to NSCT; we brought it into the fold for the first time this week as a longer-term play. The chart appeared to have to some ripening to do, as it searched for a bottom and yesterday’s session appears to have brought one. The came down to bounce off of the .0522-mark, and subsequently closed at its high-of-day .0648, a 24% intraday move.

In addition to seeing some early success on the NSCT chart this week, we had the honor of conducting an exclusive interview with the company’s CEO, Mr. Michael DeLaGarza via our sister site, Stock Traders Talk. It covers quite a bit, so we suggest you visit the site, or click the following graphic to bring up the interview straight away:

HENDERSON, Nev., July 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — via PRWEB – The interview will be held on July 24, 2014 at 9:00 am EDT, An archived recorded version can be found on the homepage of Stock Traders Talk at http://www.stocktraderstalk.com, following the interview.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG

Our call of ISRG yesterday morning couldn’t have been much better, with the stock putting forth a heck of a performance in the ensuing session. It traded in a range from 438.55 – 463.39 on the day, and as a result, anyone who was entertaining options calls as we pointed out had the chance to make substantial gains.

The landmark session came on the heels of two morning PR’s that you may want to click through to, below:

Facebook, Inc. FB Options

Another great call of ours this week was the FB Calls that we brought to the table first thing Monday morning, stating: “We’ll be looking to capitalize on the volatility that comes with rising anticipation of earnings, due for release on Wednesday.”, and noting that we’ve used this scenario to our advantage in the past.

Wednesday came and went, earnings exceeded expectations, and our FB Calls offered up big gains just as we surmised. The stock traded in a daily range from 69.61 – 71.33, and this morning in premarket trading, has reached as high as 78.44.

To adjust our strategy on FB options, we’ll be monitoring the $75-77 Calls as we head into week’s end.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR & GEIG Updates, Extended Watchlist

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options

To start off a new trading week, we’re going to follow up on Friday’s mention of PBR Calls, which ended up with a fantastic performance by all accounts. If you recall, in Friday Morning’s Report, we indicated that we were “interested in the potential of the $16.50 and $17.00 Weekly Calls” for intraday flip opportunities.

As you can see on the Level 2 Snapshot below, the $16.50 Calls traded in a range from .25-.63, an intraday move 152% The $17 Calls did considerably better, screaming up from a low of .04 and running as high as .23; good for enormous gains of up to 475%

To begin the week, we’ll remain interested in the $16.50 and $17 Weekly Calls, provided PBR can hold support at Friday’s swing low of 16.66

GEI Global Energy Corp. GEIG

In our most recent GEIG alert (Wednesday), we stated that we needed to “keep a sharp eye out for a bottom… as it gets itself in gear for the next leg-up.”

The stock was searching for a base of support from which to launch its next upswing, and found it at .007 shortly prior to the close on Thursday. Friday’s session would prove most advantageous, as the stock sailed back upward to as high as .02, marking a 185% spike off of that bottom.

That was the second golden opportunity presented to us by GEIG in as many weeks; remember, we called it the week before last as well, and were rewarded with a single-session move of over 700% with traders easily being able to play the stock for gains in the 400% range. The high on that run was .08, so its quite possible to see GEIG make further strides from current levels.

Side Note:

We’re still monitoring FB Calls as we pointed out at the beginning of last week. We’ll be looking to capitalize on the volatility that comes with rising anticipation of earnings, due for release on Wednesday. It won’t be the first time we’ve used this tactic, and it isn’t likely to be the last.

In the midst of earnings season, we’re focused on using the trends to our advantage in making some potentially big options trades, not just with FB, but many others as well.
