Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Tuesday’s Winning Calls & More

Bottom Watchlist Updates

We rooted out three fresh bottom-bounce plays in yesterday’s premarket report, and got the continuing rebound action we were looking for in all three cases. The performance was enough to keep their spots on our radar for the time being.

Dynavax Technologies Corp. DVAX – To go along with the stock’s rebound (13.13-14.42, +10%), we formulated an options trading idea for the DVAX chain and those plays worked out very well. The DVAX 09/16 $12 and $13 Calls were our target contracts and both offered up the chance at some rapid intraday gains.

The $12’s made their way from a low of 1.40 up to 2.68 for a 91% push, and the $13’s far exceeded that with a move from .70 to 3.61. That was good for a multi-bag rip on the order of 416%
______

ITT Educational Services, Inc. ESI – This one made a good, solid move to reinforce our idea that the stock was due for a nice rally. ESI traded in a range from .30-.48 on the day, representing a shot at single-session gains of up to 60%
______

Eldorado Gold Corp. EGO– This one didn’t make a monstrous move, trading up from a low 3.48-3.71 (+7%), but it did maintain the majority of its advance. Our interest remains as long as the pattern of higher highs and higher lows is sustained.

Navidea Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. NAVB

The bottom-watchlist plays weren’t the only calls from yesterday’s report to go our way. The first in a pair of nice gainers off of our extended watchlist was NAVB. The stock traded up from an early low of .50, and made a 68% move en route to the high at .84.

The stock closed strong, just a few cents below the high at .8047 so we will want to continue monitoring it for signs of continued momentum.

Signal Bay Inc. SGBY

SGBY was the other runner from the watchlist, which included an intraday run from a penny up to .0159, a 59% pop. With a strong close at .0149, this play will remain on our list of interests as well.

Extended Watchlist:
EVOK, CLCD, AGIO, CRIS, APA

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Weekly Wrap-up, Fresh Ideas

Evoke Pharma, Inc. EVOK

Leading into yesterday’s session, some people might have looked at a gapped-down, backsliding, new 52-week low play like EVOK, and dismissed it out of hand. Those people would have missed out on the prime opportunity we provided our readers in tagging the stock for observation in yesterday’s premarket report.

Whenever we see a stock showing any indication of bounce activity off of an annual low, it puts us on high alert, and plays like EVOK are the reason for that. The stock traded in a range from 2.51 up to 3.28, a solid single-session swing amounting to 31% and it appears as if the massive gap on the chart beginning at 3.50 is already in the process of being filled, with the stock trading as high as 3.70 in early trading this morning.

We want to see the premarket low of 3.15 hold as support on any pullbacks in order to sustain our immediate interest in EVOK.

______

Added Notes:
Tokai Pharmaceuticals. Inc. TKAI and CytRx Corp. CYTR – These plays are currently boasting charts that are incredibly similar to the situation we found EVOK in yesterday, with major gap-downs leading to new lows, with a hint of bounce activity in yesterday’s session. We’re going to place these stocks on alert this morning as well.

Tempur Sealy International, Inc. TPX – Options Idea

Yesterday, as we caught TPX coming off of an earnings beat, we wanted to put a range of call contracts on watch to leverage the expected subsequent activity to our advantage. Due to the fact that there were no weekly calls to track, we submitted a longer-term set of contracts, yet the gain opportunities were immediate.

Our target calls, the TPX 08/19 $70-80 Calls, all made appreciable moves on the day:

$70 Calls – Range: 3.00-5.40 – Max Gain: 80%
$75 Calls – Range:  .90-1.96 – Max Gain: 118%
$80 Calls – Range: .25-.40 – Max Gain: 60%

We’ll continue to monitr these plays in the week ahead leading into their expiration.

____

Fresh Idea:
Expert traders may want to take a look at AMZN Weekly $762.50-770 Calls for potential daytrades today on the heels of yesterday’s post-market earnings beat.

North Springs Resources Corp. NSRS

NSRS was also an item of interest from yesterday’s report, having been entered into the extended watchlist as a potential bottom-bouncer. We got just the type of rebound we were after, as the stock traded up from a low of .033 to a high of .043. That was good for a nice 30% gain opportunity, and the stock will remain on our radar provided it can continue to build a higher base level of support off of its bottom.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BTCS Recap, EVOK & More

BTCS, Inc. BTCS

We caught BTCS on a routine scan yesterday morning after noticing some abnormal activity from the session prior. Our timing ended up being extremely fortuitous, with the stock making quite an impressive morning run.

From a low of .0013, it surged up as high as .0024 just prior to midday, for a healthy pop of 85% on almost ten times the three-month average volume. If BTCS can hold support at or above yesterday’s swing low, we’ll continue to be interested in the possibilities it may provide.

Evoke Pharma, Inc. EVOK

EVOK is another fresh play that we’re taking a look at for the first time this morning. The stock has recently fallen off of a cliff, as we’ve pointed out on the annotated chart below. Beginning with a massive gap-down earlier this month, followed by several sessions of backsliding which culminated in a new 52-week low (1.52) being set on Monday.

Yesterday’s bottom-bounce activity is what has us on alert. The stock is heavily oversold, and could be in line for a substantial rebound. We’ll want to be hanging around when that occurs, because even a return to the bottom of the chart gap at 3.50, from current levels, would spell an opportunity for significant gains.

Tempur Sealy International, Inc. TPX – Options Idea

TPX is fresh off an earnings beat this morning which has it gapping up into the $70-range. We’re going to signal a range of longer-term options ideas for us to track in the days and weeks to come. Our area of interest here is going to be the TPX 08/19 $70-80 Calls, giving us just over three weeks’ time to see a continued PPS recovery.

Extended Watchlist:
SOULD, GYST, GRPN, EBIO, EPRS, WEYL
 NSRS(Potential Bottom Bouncer)

PROW, REVI & Extended Watchlist

Progress Watch Corp. PROW

We first introduced PROW to our reports on December 20th, when it was trading at a low of .0065. At that time, we pointed out the likelihood of a Golden Cross, and witnessed one just a couple weeks later. That signaled what would turn out to be an astonishingly impressive week-long breakout to a high of .0488, a rise of 650% from our initial alert price. Quite a move, considering it only took a little over three weeks to transpire.

PROW, is also extremely relevant to yesterday’s report on REVI, because it illustrates the potential power of the elusive Golden Cross chart formation.

Resource Ventures, Inc. REVI

We were pleased with the quick-strike opportunity our alert on REVI offered us yesterday. After opening at its low of day (.0074) the stock surged to a subsequent high of .0105, affording sharp traders the chance at gains of up to 42% After receding from that initial push, the stock found support at .008, bouncing back to .009 before closing at .0087, up 17.5% on the day and trading over 30% more volume than its 3mo. average.

We consider that an extremely solid performance from a stock being mentioned in our reports for the first time, and our call of the possible bounce from the .0074-level couldn’t have been timed any better.

We’re not done following this play, however, as it appears this company is doing everything in its power to improve its process and ensure its positioning for positive growth in the future. We’ll leave the recent press highlights we outlined in yesterday’s special report intact below for anyone who might have missed it; we’re looking forward to seeing how the company follows through with everything it currently has in the works. We also have the impending Golden Cross angle to follow, as we mentioned above; REVI is even closer to its potential Golden Cross than PROW was when we first mentioned it. So the potential for further gains in the days and weeks to come is certainly present. While past performances are no guarantee of future results, we’ve seen the Golden Cross scenario play out so many times to a positive effect, that we would be remiss not to point it out.

We’re also looking at a fresh news release the company put out this morning:

SILVERADO CA–(Marketwired – Jan 22, 2014) – Resource Ventures, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: REVI) President Bob Thompson announced today that the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Resources Printing and Graphics, Inc. (RP&G) has achieved a milestone in their Promotional Products, in that the division has grown to represent more than 25% of the company’s overall revenue.

Extended Watchlist:
BBRY, KOOL, EVOK, MSTX, DRWI, MELA, CVM

ABAT, SOCR, ICLD, FREE & Extended Watchlist

Over the 2+ years since we turned our long-running daily newsletter into the Blue Horseshoe Stocks blog, we have covered an extremely wide pool of stocks. In fact, the number of plays we’ve passed along since the site’s inception is now approaching 1000.(Click here to view the symbol index.) We also have a couple of new plays to add this morning:

Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. ABAT

ABAT has been on a full-fledged breakout for the past four sessions, and momentum has been building. With volume increasing, and a golden cross setting up on the chart, this is definitely a stock that will be drawing our attention this morning.

Following this monstrous run, in the weeks ahead, we’ll also be on the lookout for a pullback and any eventual bounce opportunities it could afford.

Solpower Corp. SOCR

SOCR seemed to awake from hibernation yesterday as it traded up on light volume, causing it to pop up on our unusual activity scanner.  We’re going to want to keep this one on our radar moving forward.

FreeSeas, Inc. FREE

After re-alerting FREE as it was coming off of a bottom, the stock continued its progress, opening up at .36 and trading as high as .4048 on greater-than average volume. That marks an intraday gain of roughly 12.5%

As is the case with all stocks on the rebound, we are looking to see higher highs and higher lows posted on the chart.

Just prior to this stock’s last major run, we called out resistance in the .33-.38 area, the breaking of which led to serious gains. Those levels have been breached again, so FREE now has us back on high alert.

InterCloud Systems, Inc. ICLD

After having been as low as 4.41 following our initial alert of  ICLD on Friday morning, and as low as 8.67 following our Friday afternoon update, the stock continued to roll on Monday.  We saw a high of 16.69, which could have provided gains of up to 278% for those that caught the first alert, 93% following the second.

Congrats to anyone who has been able to ride the waves of gains that ICLD has provided over just a few short days.
