Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Pharma Watchlist & More

Actinium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ATNM

We want to start things off this morning by taking a look at ATNM, for a couple of reasons. First, from a technical standpoint, the chart appears to be coming off of a relative bottom, and a number of indicators suggest that a sizable upswing could occur in coming sessions.

Those include a MACD and Histogram that look to be gearing up for a possible cross into bullish territory. Each of the past two times that occurred, the stock saw an appreciable move to the upside. The RSI also looks to be coming off of being oversold- we’ll be looking for a break of that 50-line, and the registering of higher lows and higher highs as ATNM attempts to establish a continued trend off of its recent lows.

The other factor that is indirectly drawing us to ATNM is the fact that it operates in the Pharma sector, which is sure to be at the forefront of the news with a couple of huge buyouts. Pfizer has bought Anacor (ANAC) and Luminex bought Nanosphere (NSPH). Whenever we see groundbreaking events happening in biopharma, there tends to be a rise in overall activity for the industry.

That’s why, in addition to ATNM, we’ll be placing the following couple of stocks on watch as we kick off another trading week: Inovio Biomedical, Inc. INO, and Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. SRNE

3D Systems Corp. DDD

After an impressive run-up on the chart which lasted from January to April, DDD has taken a pretty substantial pounding in the month of May.

The stock came down to bounce off of its 200DMA on Thursday, and recorded higher highs and higher lows on Friday. We’ll look for a continuation of that trend into today, and monitor DDD for a possible recovery. We will need to see the stock hold support at or above the current 200DMA of 11.73 on any pullbacks in order for it to hold our interest. A return to its PPS levels from the end of April from this juncture would produce potential gains of at least 50%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR Options Recap & More

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR – Options Recap

We seem to have an uncanny knack for using the PBR options chain to our advantage, having done that so many times over the past few years that we’ve actually lost count.

Yesterday was no different, as we signaled interest in a pair of contracts that both ended up making appreciable intraday moves. Our highlighted plays were the PBR Weekly $6 $ 6.50 Calls. The 6’s traded in a range from .21-.35 for a gain of 66%, while the 6.50’s ran 49% from .53-.79. Should PBR continue along the bullish path we could see these figures extended even higher.

We also noted an exceedingly large amount of open interest (volume) in the contracts one increment up the chain, so we’ll also be watching the PBR Weekly $7’s for today, and most likely tomorrow as well.

3D Systems Corp. DDD

We began tracking DDD on February 2nd, and despite the Groundhog’s prediction being wildly inaccurate, ours was absolutely spot-on!  We witnessed a low of 7.40 in the stock that morning and have not seen it head lower since. As you can see on the beauty of a chart, it has been virtually one continuous uptrend over the past couple of months.

As of this morning’s premarket high of $18, we’ve witnessed a 143% upswing over the time that we’ve been monitoring the stock. Recent bullish patterns that we’ve highlighted on the chart below seem to indicate the possibility of even more gains from here, so we’ll want to watch closely.

The latest surge of momentum has been helped along by a PR released on Tuesday:

SunEdison, Inc. SUNE

SUNE was a stock that we began monitoring for a bottom several weeks back, however, at the time it appeared that a rebound could be a long way off. We drew our readers attention back to the stock exactly a week ago, and after some more sideways trading, this morning we’re finally catching the break we were looking for.

The investigation which has arguably held the stock back for quite some time, yielded no findings of fraudulent activity, as can be referred to in the following piece >> Read Article @ USA Today

In the premarket we’ve seen the stock gap up more than 50% which means we should be on the lookout for the possibility of a dip-and-rip to start things off today.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review, Other Updates

Options Review

Just to refresh our readers’ memories, we highlighted a range of call contracts for three separate plays on Friday, and we’re pleased to report that sizable gains were there for the taking regardless of which idea was chosen. It marked the continuation of a flawless streak of such ideas that we offered up over the past few weeks.

Our tracked calls and the magnitude of the gains that were available were as follows:

SPDR S&P 500 (SPY) Weekly $199-202 Calls – We’ve successfully played the SPY so many times it doesn’t even bear counting, and Friday was no different. From the low end of our range to the high, gains of 80-427% were made.

Finisar Corp FNSR Weekly $15 and $16 Calls – An earnings beat made the gains in FNSR calls possible, with the $15’s running 88%, and the $16’s making a 92% upswing.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. ULTA  Weekly $175-185 Calls –  Last but not least, we had the ULTA contracts on our watchlist bank gains running from 59-117%

Again, it was yet another great week for options, and we’ll be doing everything in our power to keep the streak alive with some more ideas this week so be sure to stay tuned!

Friday’s Stock Gainers

In addition to our great success with options plays from Friday’s morning report, we had a number of other intraday movers which were also highlighted.

Propanc Health Group Corp. PPCH

This was our top-billed mention on Friday, having been following it for most of last week. A string of solid performances led the stock on a great intraweek run to that point which spanned from our observed low of .0188 to .037 (+97%) in just a few sessions.

We saw even more gains tacked on there during Friday’s trading, wherein we witnessed another nice intraday pop from the daily low of .0355 to .0516 (+45%), and the high extended our total observed range to an impressive 174% in a matter of four sessions.

_____

Mexus Gold US (MXSG)

Mexus was another point of discussion in Friday’s newsletter, and it too saw appreciable gains on the day.

We’d already been very familiar with the stock after tracking over a more than 1000% move in early February. We then re-tagged it the Wednesday before last and subsequently witnessed a 61% swing from .011-.018.

Friday’s session brought a continuation of that run from .017 to a high of .0299, a 71% intraday rip, and increased the total swing range to 172%

_____

Spectrascience, Inc. SCIE

SCIE was included in Friday’s tracklist and the stock would end up trading in a range from .003 to .0047, for total possible intraday gains of up to 56% on slightly heavier than normal volume.

It also managed to close just a tick below the high of day, so we’ll keep an eye peeled for the possibility of momentum spillover into this new trading week.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

We want to pin GWPH to our tracklist after catching a significant PR coming across the wires this morning. Late-stage studies on a cannabidiol (CBD) treatment of a rare pediatric disease has yielded positive results, and the stock has thus far gapped up over 100% in the premarket.

We’ll take our classic stance of monitoring for a possible dip-and-rip situation and look to get positioned in some in-the-money Calls, dependent upon where the bounce occurs.
