We wanted to mention NEOM as a momentum play this afternoon. We’ve watched this thing climb up recently, and with the kind of movement and volume flooding into this play at present, we have to assume that Monday morning could have gap-up potential.
Normally we wouldn’t give the heads-up on a play that had already experienced such a dramatic increase, but this thing is getting a lot of attention. For savvy traders, a quick flip into Monday could be possible here.
UNDR was added to our pre-market radar this morning after Friday’s volume explosion raised more than a few eyebrows. We like to add stocks to our tickers when we see high volatility, and rapidly increasing volume.
It has been awhile since we’ve come across a triple-0 stock that we felt was worthy of adding to our watchlist.
After gapping up to .0009 from Friday’s .0007 close, UNDR made an intraday move to .0017. That represents an 89% gain from today’s open, and 142% from Friday’s close.
Currently UNDR has traded almost 4x its 10-day average volume, and looks like it wants to test new highs as we head into the close. We’re going to reserve a spot on our tickers for UNDR as this wave of activity continues.
For all the bottom-fishers out there, ERII is a NASDAQ stock that is approaching its 52wk low. Just look at the 1-year chart on this thing, and the opportunities it has presented from these low levels. We are going to want to monitor this for its absolute bottom for a few reasons.
In addition to a chart that is looking more and more like an upcoming bottom-play, this was taken from an 8-K filed this morning: “On February 24, 2012, ERI announced internally that Tim Dyer, who has served as chief technology officer and was a named executive officer in last year’s proxy statement, is transitioning out of the chief technology role and into a critical position working on ceramics engineering issues as part of the manufacturing team. Dr. Prem Krish is assuming the position of chief technology officer.”
Couple that with the fact of an impending earnings release, and we find a story worth following over the next few weeks:Tom Rooney, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Alex Buehler, Chief Financial Officer, will host a conference call on Thursday, March 8, 2012 to discuss financial results from the fourth quarter and full year.
