Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Trading Ideas

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG

When we first tagged ISRG back on May 6th, the stock was just making its way down to its 3-year low, which came a couple of sessions later at 346.46. From that point, we saw a powerful uptrend that carried the stock back up to 426.43 (Jun 27th). It allowed us to play the options chain quite effectively over the course of several weeks.

Following that major run, we’ve seen some consolidation, coming back to the $380-level just recently, and currently, the stock is pressing new highs in premarket trading, to the tune of $444.

We did mention a long-term interest in the Aug.-Oct. $420-440 Calls back in June, and that insight is now paying off bigtime.

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. PBR -Options

When we looked in on PBR on Monday, we were patting ourselves on the back for some excellent picks of last week’s $16.50 and $17 Weekly Calls, mentioning that we’d stick with the same ideas to begin this week.

It has turned out to be another great call on our part; just look at the action in those weekly calls during yesterday’s session:

The 16.50’s ran from .25 to 1.07, a possible intraweek gain of up to 328% while the $17 Calls surged from .13 up to .75, a 477% move. This was just one of many, many times that we’ve used the PBR options chain to our extreme advantage this year.

New Options-Trading Ideas

As our regulars have undoubtedly noticed, a good portion of our focus these days goes to options trading. We’ve become quite adept at spotting trends and using them to our benefit, and we’ve got a couple of new potential plays to add to the mix this morning.

Alcoa, Inc. AA

Alcoa has been building one beast of a chart over the past few months, and there looks to be no end in sight. We may be able to use this strong uptrend to leverage ourselves some nice gains out of AA Options. Specifically, the 08/16 $17 Calls, which closed at .44 yesterday after having traded in a range from .25-.48 on the day.

Yum! Brands, Inc. YUM

YUM got beat up recently, falling off a cliff at the $83-area, and yesterday was the first session since that the stock has found some support, down around $74. Our options idea here is to potentially utilize the rebound for some quick-strike gains. We’ll be monitoring the 08/08 $75 Calls, which closed at .82 yesterday.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR & GEIG Updates, Extended Watchlist

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options

To start off a new trading week, we’re going to follow up on Friday’s mention of PBR Calls, which ended up with a fantastic performance by all accounts. If you recall, in Friday Morning’s Report, we indicated that we were “interested in the potential of the $16.50 and $17.00 Weekly Calls” for intraday flip opportunities.

As you can see on the Level 2 Snapshot below, the $16.50 Calls traded in a range from .25-.63, an intraday move 152% The $17 Calls did considerably better, screaming up from a low of .04 and running as high as .23; good for enormous gains of up to 475%

To begin the week, we’ll remain interested in the $16.50 and $17 Weekly Calls, provided PBR can hold support at Friday’s swing low of 16.66

GEI Global Energy Corp. GEIG

In our most recent GEIG alert (Wednesday), we stated that we needed to “keep a sharp eye out for a bottom… as it gets itself in gear for the next leg-up.”

The stock was searching for a base of support from which to launch its next upswing, and found it at .007 shortly prior to the close on Thursday. Friday’s session would prove most advantageous, as the stock sailed back upward to as high as .02, marking a 185% spike off of that bottom.

That was the second golden opportunity presented to us by GEIG in as many weeks; remember, we called it the week before last as well, and were rewarded with a single-session move of over 700% with traders easily being able to play the stock for gains in the 400% range. The high on that run was .08, so its quite possible to see GEIG make further strides from current levels.

Side Note:

We’re still monitoring FB Calls as we pointed out at the beginning of last week. We’ll be looking to capitalize on the volatility that comes with rising anticipation of earnings, due for release on Wednesday. It won’t be the first time we’ve used this tactic, and it isn’t likely to be the last.

In the midst of earnings season, we’re focused on using the trends to our advantage in making some potentially big options trades, not just with FB, but many others as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Updates on BFLX & SKYF, Extended Watchlist

Yesterday’s two momentum plays both fared extremely well, collectively allowing us the chance to bank more than 200% in cumulative intraday gains. Read ahead for an update of those performances:

Bioflamex Corp. BFLX

BFLX opened at .0009, and dipped as low as .0007 before closing out the day at the high of .0013, marking an overall intraday move of  86%

As you can plainly see on the intraday chart below of BFLX’s trading activity, there were several swings on the day, which actually tallied cumulative gains of 153%

The stock closed up 44% on the day, and did so on over 425 million shares traded. That’s the kind of momentum that is strong enough to sustain multi-day runs, so we’ll be on the lookout for that. There will be a point where profit-taking will drive the price back down, where we can be ready to time a dip-and-rip, if that’s the scenario with which we are presented.

In order to keep our interest, BFLX will have to hold support in the .0007-.0009 range.

__________

SKY440, Inc. SKYF

SKYF started out the day yesterday at .0013 and briefly dipped as low as .0012 before going on a romp, reaching a high of .0024, which marked a chance for a 100% intraday gains.

The stock closed at .002, up 54% on the day with 569 million shares trading hands, another example of the extreme liquidity that we like to see. For us to remain interested in this play, we’ll need to see support hold off of yesterday’s lows of .0012.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom Play Friday

NewLead, Ltd. NEWL

We’ve been tracking NEWL for a long time, waiting for the stock to find support and bounce up off of a bottom, and that appears to have happened now. Since the last time we touched base with this play on April 17th, it had consolidated all the way down from the .20’s to less than a nickel.

Yesterday we saw a surge back into the six cent range, so we want to make note of this stock again today, monitor for higher lows and higher highs, and try to take advantage if NEWL continues to rebound.

Prima BioMed, Ltd. PBMD

Here’s another stock that has been trading at a relative bottom, that just put out FDA fast-track news this morning. PBMD is gapping up into the 1.20’s this morning after its big announcement, so this presents us with an interesting and familiar scenario.

Due to the nature of the fresh PR, and the fact that a large gap-up appears imminent, we’re going to have this play on close watch for a dip-and-rip. For our new readers, this is when a significant event drives a stock to gap up, and the resultant profit-taking drives the price back down. It’s there that we attempt to time the bottom and score quick-strike profits on the bounce. Over the years, this has become one of our favorite methods of obtaining rapid in-and-out gains.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA–(Marketwired – May 9, 2014) – Prima BioMed Ltd (ASX: PRR) (NASDAQ: PBMD) (“Prima”) is pleased to announce today that the United States Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) granted Fast Track Designation to the CVac clinical development program at Prima. This program is intended to improve overall survival in patients with relapsed platinum-sensitive epithelial ovarian cancer who enter a second complete remission. Prima will work closely with the FDA in accelerating its development program for CVac to potentially bring this treatment option to patients in the U.S. >>> FULL PR

OBJ Enterprises, Inc. OBJE

OBJE hit our news scanner this morning, and it caused us to take notice of the chart. The stock has been in a continuous downtrend since early this year, so we’re going to go ahead and put this on bottom-watch.

It’s already trading at its annual lows, we’ll just be monitoring for when it does reach an eventual base, where we’ll be waiting to scoop up cheap shares and play the recovery.

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–OBJ Enterprises, Inc. (OBJE) and partner My Go Games LLC (GO) are proud to announce how its growing portfolio of brands will serve as a catalyst and delivery portal as we prepare for multiple game releases in 2014.

My Go Games and OBJE plan to combine strategies that leverage product placement and established brand networks that utilize social, mobile and online platforms to deliver revenue generating games and product sales channels to a booming marketplace. >>> FULL PR

Side Note:

PBR earnings are slated for release today, which could lead to significant volatility. We’ll still be monitoring the same Calls we’ve tracked all week, while staying ready to switch up our strategy should the need arise, dictated by the nature of the figures.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: FLST Update, QTWW Bottom-Watch

Fuelstream, Inc. FLST
FLST continued to make moves following our midday report yesterday, setting a new daily high of .0098 just prior to the close.

At that mark, from the low we’ve seen (.0037) following our first alert less than a week ago, FLST has gained as much as 164%

We’re looking for FLST to confirm this uptrend by making higher lows and higher highs today; there is resistance in the .01-.013 range.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. QTWW

We’re placing QTWW on bottom-watch today. The stock got absolutely hammered yesterday after the revelation that one of its main competitors (Hexagon Lincoln) has partnered with one of its main clients (Agility Fuel Systems), which accounted for nearly half of the company’s revenue last year.

The lasting effects of such an agreement are as yet unclear, however, our interest is purely in taking advantage of a chart bottom and subsequent rebound. We’ve seen this scenario a hundred times, and with proper timing, quick bounceplay profits are often a possibility.

Options Trading Side Note:

Our tracking of the PBR options chain continues after much recent success. Today we’re eyeballing $14-$15.50 Weekly Calls for short term opportunities over the remainder of the week.
