Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Update, Bottom-Watcher & More

Alibaba Group Holding, Ltd. BABA

First up this morning will be a review of yesterday’s options trading idea that we had for BABA as it came off of an earnings beat. The range of contracts we wanted to track were the BABA Weekly $77-81 Calls and while the stock didn’t make a big enough push to facilitate gains in all of them, we saw some nice action on the lower end. The $77-78’s each made two significant intraday swings that could have been traded upon for the following gains:

$77 Calls – Trading Ranges: 2.00-2.75 (+37%), 1.50-2.30 (+53%)
$77.50 Calls – Trading Ranges: 1.55-2.32 (+49%), 1.37-1.87 (+36%)
$78 Calls– Trading Ranges: 1.20-1.90 (+58%), .83-1.45 (+75%)

Nate’s Food Co. NHMD

There was no need to be patient with NHMD after we tagged it for observation just prior to the opening bell in yesterday’s premarket report. We noted that the stock had seen some momentum buildup; we were looking for a carryover and found it.

The sizable intraday swing came early in the session as NHMD ran from a low of .004-.0074, an 85% pop. It enacted a bit of a dip and rip into a close at .006. We’ll leave a space on our radar screens reserved to monitor NHMD moving forward, as volatile subpenny plays like this can often be good for daily flip opportunities.

JTH Holding, Inc. TAX – Bottom-Watcher

We’ve got an interesting chart setup in TAX, which as you can plainly see without the aid of annotation on the snapshot below, is currently looking egregiously oversold. Even as Liberty Tax was recently voted “Best of the Best” by Entrepreneur magazine(>>View PR) the stock has been taking a tremendous beating.

Over the past few sessions the stock seems to have been trying to find support in the low $11-range, and that is where we come in. We like to track stocks after they’ve been pounded into the pavement for possible rebound plays, as our regular readers knew very well. In the case of TAX, a return to its 50DMA at which it was trading less than a month ago, would mean gains exceeding 50% over yesterday’s closing price.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options, MILL Recaps & More

Miller Energy Resources, Inc. MILL

More often than not, when highlighting a stock that has recently recorded a new 52-week low, we’ve had very good fortune- yesterday’s premarket tag of MILL was no exception. It had just registered its annual bottom on Tuesday, and it set us up to bear witness to quite a respectable rebound.

From a low of .26, MILL surged as high as .38, marking an intraday pop of 46% and it happened on just over six times the 3-month average trading volume.

The move came in conjunction with an interesting sequence of events-Tuesday the company announced its significant doubt of its ability to continue as a going concern, which is what brought it to a new 52-week low. We caught it on the news scanner yesterday with a more positive message, regarding the receipt of a $33M tax credit from the State of Alaska and a potential loophole on the company’s debt in the form of a possible loan.

From this point forward we’d suggest an added note of caution pertaining to MILL on account of these somewhat mixed signals. The company is still in danger of filing for bankruptcy, but for our purposes, it turned out to be a nice mid-week bottom-play.

NuGene International, Inc. NUGN

We also wanted to point to another PR that hit the wires yesterday on a stock that we’ve been monitoring this summer. Back on June 15th, we tagged NUGN for observation and watched as it ran from 2.67-3.88 (+47%).

This week, after pulling back to find support at a low of 2.55, NUGN is rebounding back past the $3 mark. We’re going to want to watch it into next week, especially after the exposure that it’s set to receive this weekend.

Per a PR released yesterday the world-famous Kathy Ireland, whose namesake products NUGN distributes, will be doing a special on Fox Business Network (Sunday, 5:30pm ET) and Bloomberg International (Sunday, 8:30am CET, 3:00pm HKT, and 10:30am CDT). It’s called Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® and it will introduce a new line of stem cell-based skincare products. >> VIEW PR

Options Recap

It may be hard for some of our newer subscribers to believe, but most of the options calls we made yesterday morning ended up yielding chances at double-bag gains! Our regular readers won’t be surprised at all, as we routinely formulate such opportunities for options daytrades.

FitBit, Inc. FIT

All of the FIT Options ideas we signaled (Weekly $45.50-48 Calls) yesterday gave us the chance for notable gains, with the most significant action coming from the $46-48’s.

The $46 Calls initially ran 192% from 1.06-3.10, then dipped to a low of .79 before rebounding to 1.85 for an added 134% swing.

The $47’s first burst carried them from .96-2.24 (+133%) dipped to .45 closed at 1.20 (+166%)

$48 Calls went on a 93% run from .88-1.70, and pulled back to .40 before ripping back to .75 for a chance at an extra 87% gain.

___

Netflix, Inc. NFLX

Our ideas for NFLX Weekly $100-105 Calls are figuring to turn out quite nicely as well before the week is out.  In the image below we can see the closing prices on all of those contracts; with NFLX trading above $110 in the premarket, we expect to see all of those prices increased significantly as they’re pushed deeper into the money. We’ll be on the lookout for dip-and-rip scenarios for the remainder of the week and may consider rolling our strike prices up closer to the money, perhaps somewhere in the 107.14-111.43 range in the event the uptrend continues.

FCEL, OHRP, PIRS, MNGA, EXEL, ANR(watching for eventual bottom)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SPHS, OPXA, PPCH Highlights

Sophiris Bio, Inc. SPHS

SPHS was the first mention from yesterday’s morning report to grab our attention with an early surge that provided the chance at a rapid, substantial gain. From the low-of-day at 1.02, the stock made a big move to 1.64; an increase of 60% inside of the first half-hour of the session. The bulk of the day’s volume, which came in at more than 18X the three-month average, traded in that short time-span as well.

In addition to the heavy volume, making its biggest moves early in the trading day seems to be an established pattern with SPHS, so we’ll have an eye peeled as the session commences today.

Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. OPXA

The other standout from yesterday’s report was OPXA, which spiked on word of coverage initiation by large investment banking and research firm, Maxim Group. (>>View PR)

From its daily low of .43, the stock stair-stepped its way up throughout the session and eventually hit a high of .54; an intraday gain of 26% As it appears to gapping up in the premarket and has already touched .58, the total increase we’ve seen gets pushed to 35% We’ll be interested to follow the impending activity as well as check out the CEO’s presentation which we detail below.

Per a news release from last week, “Neil K. Warma, President and Chief Executive Officer, will present at the 2015 Marcum Microcap Conference on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. EDT in the Plymouth Room. The conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt New York Hotel in New York, NY. A live webcast of the company presentation can be accessed here, or via the Investor Relations section of the Company’s website at www.opexatherapeutics.com.

Propanc Health Group Corp. PPCH

PPCH is a stock that we began tracking in the second week of March, and over the period of several weeks since that time the stock has made some truly epic moves. Subsequent to our tag of PPCH on March 18th, we observed a low of .0116, followed by an impressive run up to an even dime. That 762% mega-run was followed by a tapering back to a low of .021.

Yesterday the stock soared almost all the way back to its previous high, touching .094, which marks another swing of 348% that we;ve seen from this incredible mover. If the stock can breach that previous swing-high, it’ll be off to the races, so we’ll definitely keep PPCH an item of interest moving forward.
