Sustained Options Success

Options Updates

We try to make solid quick-strike options ideas for our readers and ourselves each and every morning. We generally do find at least some measure of success with that on a daily basis, and yesterday was no exception to that.

We signaled a range of bullish ideas for CAH, in addition to a bearish one for MAR which both turned in some decent gains on the day. A few of the longer term ideas we’ve been tracking saw increases as well, but we’ll come back to those at a later time.

Excellent Options Movers

Exciting Options Activity

We’ve been having an excellent week for options, and saw some new highs in the PTON Calls we submitted in Tuesday morning’s report, as well as some nice activity out of the starting gate for a couple of our fresh options ideas. We went to the short side on EA and long on CLVS, and in both cases we were able to reap instant rewards.

PTON Weekly $34-35 Calls
$34:
2.96-6.10 (+106%)
$35: 2.41-5.40 (+124%)

Just as we mentioned yesterday, we expect to see these PTON gains increased today, based on premarket activity in the stock. We’re also going to include the PTON 05/15 $42-44 Calls in our watchlist.

Options Review & More

Options Review

Despite an unproductive session for the markets as a whole yesterday, two of our three fresh options ideas for the session bucked the trend and panned out quite well on the day. We had some ideas for both the RNG and ROKU chains that produced respectable intraday moves for us.

Here were the total possible profits that were there for the taking, some of which did reach multi-bag status for the session:

RNG Weekly $220-225 Calls
$220
: 6.10-12.93 (+112%)
$225.50
: 6.35-10.69 (+68%)
$225
: 3.53-9.30 (+163%)
_____

ROKU Weekly $134-136 Calls
$134: 10.45-15.45 (+48%)
$135
: 9.55-14.95 (+57%)
$136
: 9.25-14.17 (+53%)

Based on premarket activity we’re seeing this morning, we would expect both RNG and ROKU to tack even more gains onto these ideas for us today.

More New Ideas:
TEVA  Weekly $12-12.50 Calls
AKAM Weekly $98-101 Calls
SHOP Weekly $535-550 Calls
CVS Weekly $74.50-76 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: UNXL Recap & More

Uni-Pixel, Inc. UNXL

Our premarket report yesterday morning may have left some of our newer readers wondering why we would put forth a stock that had just been crushed to new all-time lows amid forthcoming bankruptcy and the layoff of its entire workforce. Our more seasoned readers will recall many times in the past where just such a set of circumstances has allowed for big opportunities, and yesterday was no exception.

UNXL began its rebound immediately following the opening bell, and in the first 90 minutes of trading, shot up from a low of .07 to as much as .16. That worked out to an intraday rip of 128% which occurred on massive volume on the order of nearly forty times the monthly average.

It just goes to show why we are constantly scanning for stocks coming off of their 52-week lows, because quite often they become fantastic rebound plays just like UNXL did yesterday. In fact, it ended up being the NASDAQ’s biggest gainer of the day, so cheers to anyone who was along for the ride!

Coty, Inc. COTY

We like the setup of the current COTY chart and would like to signal a pair of options contracts for observation in the days and weeks ahead.

Here we have another stock that was battered down in rapid fashion, having been trading over $20/share as recently as the beginning of this month. That includes a large gap left on the chart. It reached it ultimate low on Thursday, and since then has shown signs of a possible extended recovery, not to mention some insider buying.

On that note, we’re going to be looking to the COTY 10/06 $17 & $17.50 Calls  for potential swing trades in the days and weeks to come.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: IDXG Keeps Rolling & More

Interpace Diagnostics Group, Inc. IDXG

Yesterday morning, we were mentioning our call of IDXG from last Thursday, and subsequent run from a low of .72 to more than a dollar. It had reached a new high at 1.28 in the premarket and we said we wanted to see it register higher highs and higher lows en route to a more sustained rebound.

So far we’ve gotten just what we were looking for from IDXG, with the stock posting an intraday run of 24% from 1.17-1.54 for yesterday’s session. It pushed the overall move we’ve observed in under a week’s worth of trading into double-bag territory, having risen 114% thus far.

It was helped along by yesterday’s announcement that a large healthcare provider would be covering the company’s thyroid cancer screening tests, which is now covered for up to 250 million Americans. We’ll continue to keep a spot on our radars for IDXG, which was trading over the $2-mark as recently as May.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd – Options Idea

Shares of BABA are streaking to new highs this morning as the company posted a solid beat on profits and revenue in its premarket earnings report.

The last time we visited an idea in the BABA chain was back on June 8th, when we signaled $140-145 Calls and saw them register single-session gains ranging from 1167-3160% so we are definitely familiar with what can happen in an ideal situation.

Today, given the fact of another similar scenario where earnings lead to a large gap up into blue skies, we’re going to be tracking contracts in the range of the BABA Weekly $162.50-170 Calls.
