Blue Horseshoe Stocks: LINU Recap & More

LiNiu Technology Group, Inc. LINU

We’re going to start things off today by providing an update on our coverage of a really nice move in LINU subsequent to our most recent alert on the stock from the morning of September 11th.

We observed a low of 1.05, and after a huge run on Friday, LINU reached as high as 3.20. It represents a very nice 205% move for us in under a month’s time. Volume over the saem period has been extremely elevated, and Friday’s session logged the highest single day volume in the history of the stock.

Constellation Brands, Inc. STZ – Options Update

After Constellation put out solid earnings and guidance on Thursday morning we highlighted our interest in the STZ 10/20 $210-220 Calls and they produced intraday gains of 84-142%

We reported this in Friday’s newsletter, mentioning that further opportunities could be on the horizon and we did see some good action for that session as well.

The $210′s traded in a daily range from 1.85-2.85 (+54%), the $215′s went from .65-1.05 (+62%), and the $220′s made a push from .25-.38 (+52%).

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NLNK Recap & More

NewLink Genetics Corp. NLNK

After our call of NLNK Thursday morning, the stock traded from 9.50-14.48 (+52%) which was a fantastic move for something it that price range.  We noted the strong close, and Friday morning re-iterated our interest despite the big move we’d already witnessed.

It’s a good thing we left NLNK on our radars, because while it didn’t quite rise to the previous session’s intraday performance, it came awfully close, and completed a very nice two-day swing for us in the process. Friday’s trading range on NLNK ran from 13.51 up to a new high of 19.30 for a daily move of 43% and representing a two-session rise of 103%

The stock traded thirteen times its monthly average volume, and maintained well over half its advance into a second consecutive strong close, so we’re quite curious to monitor its activity as we kick off a fresh trading week.

Kura Oncology Inc. KURA

Speaking of higher-priced movers, we also tagged KURA in Friday’s premarket report after the company’s mid-stage cancer treatment trials yielded positive results. It too went on a run which was uncharacteristically volatile for a $9+ stock.

The tradin grange on this one ran from 9.30-13.80 for an intraday push of 48% and did so on over 20X the monthly average volume. The close wasn’t quite as strong as the previously mentioned play, but we’ll still leave a slot open on our radar screens for KURA heading into this week.

______

Honorable Mention: Adaptimmune Therapeutics plc ADAP – While the level of gains provided wasn’t quite as high following our tag of ADAP on Thursday, the stock did string together a noteworthy couple of sessions. It traded from a low of 7.02 on Thursday to a high of 8.95 on Friday, marking a 27% swing.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMZN Review & More

LiNiu Technology Group, Inc. LINU

Among yesterday’s tracked stocks was LINU, which we signaled after noticing some abnormal volume and price action in the previous session.

While the stock didn’t necessarily break out in a big way, the intraday move it did make was reasonably solid. From a low of  1.79, it ran as high as 2.36 on the day, marking a 32% pop. The move came on 39X the monthly average volume, and the stock did hold more than half of its daily advance into a strong close.

With that kind of momentum built up, we’ll certainly want to let LINU remain on our radar in upcoming sessions and look for the continued establishment of higher highs and higher lows.

General Electric Corp. GE

We like the setup on the current GE chart, which as you can see from the included snapshot below, has been pounded down to new lows this week.

We’re always looking to track the potential recoveries of heavily oversold stocks, and GE is certainly in that category. There’s also a sizable gap from July which needs to be filled, as well as some insider buying being logged near these lows last week.

We’ll put this one on watch for what seems like an inevitable rebound, while signaling a pair of options contracts to add to our radars, the GE 11/17 $26 & $27 Calls.

Amazon.com Inc. AMZN

We also have to swing back around to pat ourselves on the back for our options ideas on AMZN, which we submitted on Monday morning.

We noted that the AMZN 10/06 $965-980 Calls should have some nice moves once the stock saw a reversal, and it turned out to be a good hunch. The $965′s traded from 19.25-27.00 (+40%), the $980′s went from 11.39-20.20 (+77%) and the five contracts in the range in between those two all made similar gains.

AMZN is gapping up in the premarket this morning, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see our overall observed gains increase further.

Dextera Surgical, Inc. DXTR

Starting a couple of weeks ago on the 16th, and then again midway through last week, we’ve been signaling DXTR, which was coming up off of recent relative lows just a few sessions earlier.

We wanted to quickly point out its performance over that span, which started from a low of .26 and has run up to new highs in premarket trading today. It’s thus far hit a high of .43, which works out to a respectable two-week swing of 65%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: UNXL Recap & More

Uni-Pixel, Inc. UNXL

Our premarket report yesterday morning may have left some of our newer readers wondering why we would put forth a stock that had just been crushed to new all-time lows amid forthcoming bankruptcy and the layoff of its entire workforce. Our more seasoned readers will recall many times in the past where just such a set of circumstances has allowed for big opportunities, and yesterday was no exception.

UNXL began its rebound immediately following the opening bell, and in the first 90 minutes of trading, shot up from a low of .07 to as much as .16. That worked out to an intraday rip of 128% which occurred on massive volume on the order of nearly forty times the monthly average.

It just goes to show why we are constantly scanning for stocks coming off of their 52-week lows, because quite often they become fantastic rebound plays just like UNXL did yesterday. In fact, it ended up being the NASDAQ’s biggest gainer of the day, so cheers to anyone who was along for the ride!

Coty, Inc. COTY

We like the setup of the current COTY chart and would like to signal a pair of options contracts for observation in the days and weeks ahead.

Here we have another stock that was battered down in rapid fashion, having been trading over $20/share as recently as the beginning of this month. That includes a large gap left on the chart. It reached it ultimate low on Thursday, and since then has shown signs of a possible extended recovery, not to mention some insider buying.

On that note, we’re going to be looking to the COTY 10/06 $17 & $17.50 Calls  for potential swing trades in the days and weeks to come.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EKSO Recap & More

Yesterday’s Notable Gainers:

Ekso Bionics Holdings, Inc. EKSO - On a choppy day for the markets as a whole, we managed to root out a decent intraday mover in EKSO. This stock traded in a daily range from a low of 1.40 and ran as high as 1.92. That works out to 37% pop, and it occurred on roughly 12.5X the 30-day average volume.

With a strong close at 1.81, we’ll be interested in continuing to track EKSO as we head into week’s end, keeping an eye out for the registering of higher highs and higher lows.
_____

LiNiu Technology Group, Inc. LINU -  Also contained in yesterday’s premarket report was a reference to LINU, and it too made a moderate move on the day.

From its low of .42 LINU managed to get up as high as .5569, which marked a 33% upswing and that came on just a hair under five times the monthly average volume, so we’ll continue to keep tabs on this play as well.

Interpace Diagnostics Group, Inc. IDXG

As you can see on the chart below, IDXG has taken a bit of a beating of late, and we noticed it gapping up significantly in the premarket this morning, so we want to signal it for observation.

The early activity could be due in part to a bullish IDXG blurb published on Seeking Alpha this morning, but as we mentioned above, this in an interesting play purely from a technical perspective as well. We’re always looking for bottom bouncers to track and IDXG currently fits that bill. .

_____

HTG Molecular Diagnostics, Inc. HTGM

Speaking of bottom bouncers showing life in the premarket, we also want to point out similar activity in HTGM. Like the above-mentioned play, the stock has recently experienced an extended selloff period, and could be ready to mount a comeback, so we’ll be on the lookout for that. .
