AAPL, TSLA Forward Splits

Options Review:

Out of our options ideas in Friday’s report, the two targets that would have paid off the most were the WDAY Weekly $235-245 Calls and the DELL Weekly $62.50-65 Calls
and especially in the WDAY day, we saw considerable multibag moves on the day.

So we’re going to kick off this fresh trading week by going over the total possible gains on those plays, which were as follows:

WDAY Weekly $235-245 Calls
$235:
 5.54-13.78 (+300%)
$240: 2.36-8.90 (+277%)
$245: .38-3.99 (+950%)
_____

DELL Weekly $62.50-65 Calls
$62.50:
 3.85-5.09 (+32%)
$65: 2.40-3.36 (+40%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

We’ll go ahead and keep the options train chugging along the tracks this morning.  Despite not having a very full boat on the earnings calendar today, TSLA and AAPL have both undergone forward splits today on the heels of setting new record highs. We are going to formulate a couple of ideas to correspond with the new PPS values.

TSLA Weekly $447-455 Calls
AAPL Weekly $125-127.50 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Recaps, Fresh Ideas

Pier 1 Imports Inc. PIR

It was just Monday morning that we were heralding the performance of PIR following our recent tag of the stock as a bottom-watch play just shy of three weeks ago on August 23rd. The day after that alert, we would observe a low of 3.76. At the time we mentioned that we felt a double-bagger was possible, and as of Monday, it had fallen just short of that mark with a 91% increase.

Yesterday, the stock blew through that mark with its biggest session yet. It traded in an impressive intraday range from 6.10-10.48 (+64%). That pushes our overall gains since our initial flag to a very nice  179% well past the double-bag mark that we had targeted!

Endo Pharmaceutical Holdings Inc. ENDP

Speaking of other very respectable stock calls we’ve made recently, we tagged ENDP on August 7th, as it was trading for as little as 2.14.

Yesterday, after its second big bull session of the past week, the stock hit a new high of 4.07, leaving us with total possible gains of 92% since our initial call on ENDP.

SPY OPTIONS:
If the SPY can break 275.27, we’ll be looking at the Weekly $275.50 Calls, and if it falls below 274.50, we’ll be tracking the Weekly $274 Puts.

Genocea Biosciences, Inc. GNCA

We originally began tracking GNCA in our very first report of the new year (01/02) and we wanted to follow up with it now, five months later, as we are very impressed with where the stock has ended up. The stock actually set its 2019 low of 2.50 on January 2nd and it hasn’t looked back since.

By the end of February, the stock had doubled to five dollars, and now, it has doubled again. This morning in premarket trading, we’ve witnessed a new of 12.22 from GNCA, representing an total rise of 388% over our observed low. We’re going to be very interested to see what it’s going to do in this newfound blue-sky territory.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: APTI Recap & More

Apptio, Inc. APTI – Review

Despite a lousy day for the markets as a whole, yesterday brought a very interesting development in APTI, in the form of an enormous gap-up. We signaled APTI as a bottom-play in our premarket report on the first of this month, after the stock had begun to rebound following a dip to new annual lows a couple of days earlier. At the time the stock traded for as little as 24.48 a share.

We included it in yesterdays report as well, and the new high after that incredible gap-up came in at 37.80. That marks an upswing of 54% in just under two weeks, made even more impressive by the fact that the markets tanked on the day. The rapid hike was due to Sunday’s revelation that the company would be sold in an all cash deal equal to $38/share.

Fresh Options Ideas

We scan the earnings calendar each morning to ID earnings plays with the biggest potential, and today we have a pair of big name releases for which we will formulate some quick strike ideas:

HD Weekly $180 Calls
AAP Weekly $170 & $175 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: WMT Calls & More

Walmart, Inc. WMT

After a period of a couple of trading sessions where WMT has taken considerable abuse on the chart. After appearing to be gearing up to make an impressive run, the stock gapped down considerably on Tuesday and the backslide persisted through yesterday.

This major selloff has brought the stock down to its lowest PPS since November, and had us thinking about a range of calls to slate for observation in the days and weeks ahead. We’re going to signal the WMT 03/16 $90-93 Calls, which should be in line for some solid activity if Walmart mounts the recovery that, at this point, looks very possible.

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. HTZ

We would like to put HTZ on watch as a possible bounce play this morning. As you can see on the included chart snapshot, the stock is giving off a strong double-bottom signal, and just fell below its 200DMA yesterday.

We’re going to monitor the activity here closely, because as you can see, there is a considerable amount of room to run to the upside, and the stock has been approaching heavily oversold territory.

___________

Avis Budget Group, Inc. CAR

While we’re on the subject of car rental agencies, our eye has also been caught by Avis, whose stock just came down to an area of trendline support, and also posted a Q4 earnings beat.

We’re going to look for opportunities in the CAR 03/16 $42-44 Calls in coming sessions.
