Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CAT Options & More

Caterpillar, Inc. CAT – Options

We’ve had great success in the past with CAT options after the company reports earnings, and that’s just what we’re going to try to do again today.

The company obliterated forecasts on the Street for its earnings figures and raised its outlook as well, producing interesting activity here in the premarket and has us anxious to track some calls once the session gets going.

We’re interested in monitoring the CAT 04/27 $157.50-162.50 Calls to try and take advantage of the situation.

Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion VLRS

We’re also going to put VLRS on bottom watch for a potential incoming dead cat bounce after the stock has been absolutely crushed over the past two sessions, as you can plainly view on the chart below.

All because of perceived lowered demand after the company’s revenue per seat mile decreased, even as overall revenue increased, according to its recent earnings report. We don’t see that as commensurate with the beating the stock has taken, sending it to new lows and well into egregiously oversold territory. We’ll have it on watch for a possible rebound.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Chatroom Calls, More Ideas

From Our Daily Traders Chat

Based on the events of yesterday morning, it’s time once again to point out why we strongly suggest our readers also take part in our daily live traders chats via Skype.

Promptly at the opening bell, as you can see on the screen-snap below, we signaled interest in WCYN, which subsequently went on a huge intraday tear that took it from a low of  .0035 to as high as .047; that’s a move of 1243%

We also alerted TOPS at that time, and it made a run from 4.35 to a high of 7.09 for a 63% pop on the day. The stock is trading up over 7.50 in the premarket, so it looks like our observed gains are set to increase this morning.

Both of these plays are great examples of late-breaking opportunities that don’t make it into our daily reports, but that we still make available to our community of traders, and that includes YOU! To get involved, simply send a Skype contact request to username: “stocksumo” and we’ll get you all set up!

Kraig BioCraft Laboratories, Inc. KBLB

Yesterday we were outlining our July 13th report wherein we alerted KBLB, which was trading as low as .0261 at the time. To that point we’d seen it accumulate a gain of 164%, hitting .069 on Friday.

We also mentioned that we’d continue to track the stock if it could hold support above .04, and KBLB did us one better; it ran 27% from .075 to .095, and extended the overall increase we’ve witnessed in just over two weeks to an impressive 264%

CGrowth Capital, Inc. CGRA

After appearing in yesterday’s premarket report, this old familiar face produced a decent chance for some solid intraday profits. CGRA traded in a range from .0235 to .032, a notable jump of 36%

Options Idea:

Shire plc SHPG – Coming off of a premarket earnings release that has SHPG gapping up moderately in premarket trading this morning, we want to signal a range of options contracts to track in sessions ahead.

We’re looking at the SHPG Weekly $197.50-202.50 Calls. We’ll be interested in these calls provided SHPG holds support above the $195 mark on any initial pullbacks off of this morning’s gap-up.

Options Updates

Yesterday we brought a couple of fresh options ideas to the table, and in both cases, traders could have fared quite well in terms of single-session gains.

Cheers go out to any of our readers who were able to take advantage of these solid intraday moves!

Potential Bottom-Bounce Plays

This morning we’ve taken notice of a couple of stocks that are trading near recent relative lows, which have also begun to show some life this week.

The Female Health Co. FHCO – We like the look of the chart on this one, which is coming off a multiple bottom and just managed to crack through and hold support above its 50DMA. The next area of resistance appears to be the channel between its recent swing high at 1.45 and the 200DMA of 1.57.

______

Nate’s Food Co. Inc. NHMD – This stock has appeared on our watchlist in the past, and today, we’re circling back around to it purely from the look of the chart. Several indicators are pointing toward the chance of some sizable upswings in sessions to come, so we’ll want to monitor the situation closely.

We’re going to want to see it get back above and hold the 200DMA at .0089 as support going forward.

Options Updates

Barracuda Networks, Inc. CUDA On Friday, we had just caught CUDA coming off of a heavy earnings beat, and we signaled our interest in a couple sets of contracts in the options chain to correspond with the expected activity. Specifically the CUDA 07/15 $15 and $17.50 Calls.  It was a good thing that we did, because what followed were some eye-popping gain opportunities!

The $15’s have now traded up from a low of 2.55 to a high of 6.53, for an excellent swing of 156%, while the $17.50’s have amazingly run from .60 to as much as 4.10, a huge 583% rip!

______

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – We’ve drawn off of the PBR well countless times in the past, and our most recent idea, the PBR 07/15 $6.50 and $7 Calls (which we submitted on the morning of June 29th) has paid off with a couple of sizable swings.

In the roughly two weeks since we tabbed these plays for observation, we saw the $6.50 Calls run first from .30-1.07 (+256%), followed by a dip back to .35 and a rip back to 1.27 (+263%). The $7’s provided similar, yet even bigger action as they initially saw a move from .15-.69 (+360%), followed by a second from .14-.85 (+507%).

We expect the gains mentioned here to be extended as PBR is gapping up again this morning, and we may need to consider rolling up our strike prices to the $7.50 and $8 Calls as the situation dictates.

Gold Resource Corp. GORO

We also want to provide an update on another idea from the end of last week. We were circling back around to GORO on Thursday, a play we’d begun tracking two weeks prior from a low of 3.19.

Since our re-alert on Thursday, GORO has logged higher highs and higher lows in all three sessions. From Thursday’s low of 4.35 to yesterday’s high of 5.44 was a solid 25% upswing, and from our observed low of 3.19 (06/28), it marked a total increase of 71%

Shire plc SHPG – Options Update

The idea that we formulated earlier in the week with regard to the SHPG options chain has already provided us with gain opportunities, but the gap up we’re seeing this morning could really make things interesting. Just to refresh your memory, our target range was the SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls.

With the stock gapping up big-time, having already hit a high of 185.00 in the premarket, anyone who entered one or more of these contracts prior to this morning will be in line to reap some serious profits right out of the gate.

Our observed lows for each set of contracts was as follows: $175 – 2.60, $177.50 – 3.00, $180 – 1.65. With every one currently being pushed deep into the money, it will be interesting to see the subsequent highs that are recorded today.

We feel it’s generally a good idea to lock in profits on a gap-up, just in case the stock retraces and fills the gap.

FRESH OPTIONS IDEA:

Tesla Motors Corp. TSLA – Tesla took a gut-punch yesterday as Tuesday’s post-market announcement of its offer to purchase SolarCity met mixed reviews, and appears to be setting up for further backsliding.

Should this bearish trend persist into today’s trading session, we’ll be very interested in tracking the activity of
the TSLA Weekly $200-195 Puts.

BioScrip, Inc. BIOS

We also want to provide a brief update on BIOS, a stock we alerted on Friday just in the nick of time to catch a nice uptrend. From a low of 2.23 that day, the stock has recorded higher highs and higher lows every session since, culminating in a new high of 2.87 yesterday. That works out to a respectable four-session boost of 29%

We still like the look of the BIOS chart, which is showing hints of potential for further moves to the upside. Key resistance is sitting at the previous swing high of 3.10, so we’ll be on the lookout for a breach of that level,.
