Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big Week for Options

Morgan Stanley MS – Recap

Earlier in the week we highlighted a pair of options calls in the Morgan Stanley chain following the company’s Q3 earnings report on Tuesday, in which it reported a solid beat of Wall Street expectations on profits.

As a result, the MS Weekly $43.50 & $44 Calls that we signaled in our report produced some very nice chances for traders to lock in multi-bag profits.

The $43.50 Calls, from their low of 1.32 reached 4.20, for an intraweek gain of 218% The $44 Calls low came in at .85, and it went on to log a high of 3.65. That worked out to an overall increase of 329%

Fresh Options Ideas

Paypal, Inc. PYPL - The first of our earnings related options ideas to close out the week is going to be Paypal, whose stock saw early gains on the heels of the company’s report which entailed a big boost from the company’s Venmo offshoot. Revenue streams have been growing as Paypal has launched several initiatives within the platform. We are going to be looking at the PYPL Weekly $81-83 Calls* as we close out the trading week.

The Procter & Gamble Co. PG – We’re also looking at PG, which reported on its earnings this morning, and posted it’s biggest growth in sales for the last half a decade. Our idea for this particular play will be the PG Weekly $82-84.50 Calls*

*Please do not attempt to trade options with a weekly expiration on a Friday unless you are an advanced level trader with disposable funds. It’s an extreme risk/reward proposition!

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HAS, ABM Options & More

Hasbro Inc. HAS – Options Idea

To start things off this morning, we are looking toward the Hasbro options chain, following the company’s earnings report this morning revealed Q2 beats on sales, profits, and revs.

The stock is gapping up here in the premarket, and we’re going to want to be ready with an options idea for possible quick strike gains to kick off the week. We’re going to track the HAS Weekly $102-105 Calls, and attempt to continue to fantastic options success we have recently enjoyed.

ABM Industries, Inc. ABM

Speaking of fresh options ideas, we’re interested in ABM from a technical standpoint, and will be monitoring the activity in the ABM 08/17 $30-35 Calls.

As you can see on the following chart snapshot, we have a number of favorable indicators in play. In addition to a strong double bottom signal, and a MACD on the verge of going bullish, the stock just last week cracked and managed to hold support at its 50DMA. The RSI is also on the cusp of breaking the 50-line.

All in all, a positive move of at least a few dollars seems very possible, and would likely produce some good chances in our designated calls in that event.

Speaking of single-day multibag gains, also included in yesterday’s report was a fresh idea for the EBAY options chain. We went bearish after the company disappointed on Q2 revs, signaling our interest in the EBAY Weekly $36-34.50 Puts  and we were dead-on with that idea as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: OPK, CAT & More

Opko Health, Inc. OPK

We’re going to start things off this morning by highlighting a potential bottom-bounce play in OPK which is presently boasting a ripening chart setup.

Not only that, but we’ve got a Form-4 alert on this one as well, with CEO Phillip Frost purchasing 100,000 shares yesterday at 4.89. We generally take insider buying at a bottom, especially a strong double bottom like OPK is exhibiting, as a sign that a more sustained recovery could be on the way.

We’ll place this stock on watch in the days and weeks ahead as well as keep an eye on an options idea, the OPK 03/02 $5-6 Calls.

Caterpillar Inc. CAT

Speaking of options ideas, we wanted to submit one for CAT as well in the wake of its premarket earnings release, wherein the company reported a 35% sales increase and a solid beat on profits.

The stock is gapping up into blue skies this morning in the $175 range, so we’ll be looking for a classic early dip-and-rip, and tracking the CAT Weekly $170-175 Calls for potential quick-strike trades.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: INFI Review & More

Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. INFI

The stock with the most notable performance from yesterday morning’s watchlist was definitely INFI, which began trending up in the premarket, and continued its climb throughout the entire session.

The stock traded up from a low of 2.44 to 3.75, which works out to an intraday rise of 54% and it came on roughly 38X its monthly average volume. An early pullback from profit taking this morning would be a likely scenario, but if INFI can find support at a higher point than yesterday’s low, from

AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ACRX

After the FDA’s rejecion of the company’s ‘Dsuvia” opioid painkiller, ACRX took a monstrous pounding yesterday down to its lowest price in three months.

As you can see on the chart, it fell all the way down to an area of support it had established back in July. We’ll be interested to monitor this play for a bottom, which could come at any time. Moves generated by FDA news, whether positive or negative, tend to be over-exaggerated and are almost always followed by a course correction.

Inotek Pharmaceuticals Corp ITEK

Here we have an example of being extremely ‘early to the party’ as we sometimes say. We alerted on ITEK back in July, after which point it saw a low of .89. It mostly traded sideways throughout the remainder of the summer, but recently began quite an impressive climb.

This morning, the stock hit news highs of 4.15 in premarket trading on news of a proposed merger with a clinical stage gene therapy company. It may have took a few months to realize, but it works out to an increase of 366%

For an added angle going forward, we’ll also signal the ITEK 10/20 $2.50 Calls for possible daytrades and/or swing trades into next week, and the 11/17 $2.50 & $5.00 Calls for a longer term idea.
