Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom Bounceplay & More

Lucas Energy, Inc. LEI

We’re looking at LEI this morning as a possible bottom bounce play. The stock has been under general consolidation for the past couple of months, and is getting to a point where we want to begin monitoring for a recovery.

A glance at the chart below shows a few indicators ready to go bullish, and a stock that is trading very close to its 52-week lows. As you know, we’re always interested in stocks near their annual low points; the strategy has worked for us on countless occasions.

It appears LEI has a bit of resistance to contend with in the channel between .55 (July support level) and the 50DMA of .57, but beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot in the way of this thing testing previous highs in the .65-.70 range.

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options Update

Our continual coverage of the PBR options chain has still yet to fail; if you recall, we were speculating on the 08/22 $15.50 and $16 Calls beginning on Friday, with the intent to execute a possible swing trade into this week. A move up that has PBR headed toward annual highs has facilitated quite the opportunity for us.

Those who were following along with our idea could have gotten in those $16’s at a low of .44 on Friday, and as of yesterday’s high of 1.28, the value of those contracts showed an overall  increase of 190% Not bad at all for a span of only three sessions.

We also observed some abnormally high volume in the January $19 Calls as they traded over 48K contracts. We’ll want to radar these Calls as well.

For another potential short-term play, we’ll also have an eye on the $16.50 and $17.00 Weekly Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CBDE, MCPI News & More

CBD Energy Ltd. CBDE

CBDE is a fairly new issuer, and built some serious momentum off of its bottom on Friday after the announcement of a lucrative solar farm construction contract. The company reports expected pre-tax revenues from the project amounting to more than $6 Million to be recognized in 2015, so we’re going to place this new stock on our medium-to-long term watchlist.

In the meantime, CBDE appears to be on the cusp of breaking the $4-mark this morning, which is the level at which the stock began trading just a couple of months ago. We’ll be watching for a breach of this psychological barrier, which would effectively put CBDE in Blue Sky mode, with no telling where the ceiling might come.

It should make for an interesting story to follow in the days and weeks ahead.

Med-Cannabis Pharma, Inc. MCPI

Turning focus to the marijuana space, we’ve got a new play to add to our running watchlist. It’s most interesting to us because it has a part to play in the implementation of legalization in Washington, which has been much more subdued than Colorado’s roll-out.

The madness that ensued thereafter led to months of record-breaking gains, but at the same time led to an SEC crackdown on what had become a free-for-all of false claims and hysteria. For that reason, companies involved in the more slowly unfolding Washington cannabis industry have been fewer and further between.

That’s exactly why we want to keep an eye on MCPI moving forward, despite the fact that it has already seen exponential gains; it’s confirmed that the company actually has boots on the ground in Washington, as indicated in this morning’s press release that we think you’ll want to check out:

PORT TOWNSEND, WA, Aug 04, 2014 (Marketwired via COMTEX) — Med-Cannabis Pharma, Inc. (OTCQB: MCPI), a Nevada Company specializing in Medical cannabis sales will be opening several Medical cannabis stores through its subsidiary Cannabis Hemporium in various towns on the Olympic Peninsula in the State of Washington during the month of August. The towns include Port Townsend, Port Hadlock and the Hood Canal location where work has been continuing for opening. >>> FULL PR

Side Note:

On Friday, we mentioned that we had an interest in PBR $16 Calls for this week, so we just wanted to remind readers that we would be focusing on those contracts as the trading week commences.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Revisiting CETV & More

Central European Media Enterprises, Inc. CETV
CETV is a stock we’ve looked in upon a few times over the past year or so, first catching it all the way back in May of 2013. We like to keep a continuous eye on all of our past winners in the event that they might bring future opportunities, and that’s why we’re going to revisit CETV this morning.

The stock is coming off of recent lows, and is showing some signs of life on the heels of improved earnings released today, presently gapping up past the 50DMA, up 10% in the pre-market, and trading in the high 2.70’s. We’re going to want to watch closely as the stock reacts to some favorable numbers:

In Ovations Holdings, Inc. INOH

INOH popped up on our scanners this morning as a sub-penny play with bottom-bounce potential. The stock is coming off of a recent sub-.001 bottom, and began to rebound during yesterday’s session.

INOH had a rapid spike to more than .008 back in June, so we know the potential for a move is there, and will keep a close watch over INOH in coming sessions.

Side Notes:

PGT, Inc. PGTI

Speaking of bottom bouncers, we just wanted to make a quick mention of yesterday’s extended watchlist play, PGTI. The stock gapped up and reversed course, trading in a daily range from 8.76 – 9.77, an intraday move of 11.5%. We’ll be looking in on PGTI today to see if it can maintain course.

NQ Mobile, Inc. NQ

NQ has made repeat appearances in our reports, most recently July 21st, and since that time, has been trending off of its own bottom. Even after several sessions of positive trading, we want to pay special attention to NQ following word of a possible buyout:

NQ Announces Receipt of Non-Binding Proposal to Acquire All Outstanding Shares of NQ (Wed 8:38AM EDT)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR & GEIG Updates, Extended Watchlist

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options

To start off a new trading week, we’re going to follow up on Friday’s mention of PBR Calls, which ended up with a fantastic performance by all accounts. If you recall, in Friday Morning’s Report, we indicated that we were “interested in the potential of the $16.50 and $17.00 Weekly Calls” for intraday flip opportunities.

As you can see on the Level 2 Snapshot below, the $16.50 Calls traded in a range from .25-.63, an intraday move 152% The $17 Calls did considerably better, screaming up from a low of .04 and running as high as .23; good for enormous gains of up to 475%

To begin the week, we’ll remain interested in the $16.50 and $17 Weekly Calls, provided PBR can hold support at Friday’s swing low of 16.66

GEI Global Energy Corp. GEIG

In our most recent GEIG alert (Wednesday), we stated that we needed to “keep a sharp eye out for a bottom… as it gets itself in gear for the next leg-up.”

The stock was searching for a base of support from which to launch its next upswing, and found it at .007 shortly prior to the close on Thursday. Friday’s session would prove most advantageous, as the stock sailed back upward to as high as .02, marking a 185% spike off of that bottom.

That was the second golden opportunity presented to us by GEIG in as many weeks; remember, we called it the week before last as well, and were rewarded with a single-session move of over 700% with traders easily being able to play the stock for gains in the 400% range. The high on that run was .08, so its quite possible to see GEIG make further strides from current levels.

Side Note:

We’re still monitoring FB Calls as we pointed out at the beginning of last week. We’ll be looking to capitalize on the volatility that comes with rising anticipation of earnings, due for release on Wednesday. It won’t be the first time we’ve used this tactic, and it isn’t likely to be the last.

In the midst of earnings season, we’re focused on using the trends to our advantage in making some potentially big options trades, not just with FB, but many others as well.

Extended Watchlist:
PLUG, NQ, EXTR, CLWT, CTIC, ATRX, NLST, KNDI

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: VNDA, NQ & More

NQ Mobile, Inc. NQ

Yesterday, we pointed out all the reasons why we felt that NQ was in a good position to make a run, and we certainly hope folks took it to heart, because the stock followed it up with an solid session.

We first observed a morning low of 9.40, and NQ subsequently made a healthy move to a high of 10.85 on the afternoon, which was good for an intraday gain of 15%

On the options side of things, the $10 Calls dipped as low as .35, and went on to trade as high as a 1.00. This provides a good example of why we’ve gotten more and more into trading options on big board plays. Even just a modest move on the chart can translate into huge gains on the right contracts.

NQ is gapping up to the tune of another 5% this morning, so we’ll continue to keep an eye on things as we head into week’s end.

So far, from the low we observed following our tag of NQ toward the end of last month (6.25) we’ve seen gains on the order of 77%

Vanda Pharmaceuticals, Inc. VNDA

VNDA was another NASDAQ-listed stock that appeared in yesterday’s report on the Extended Watchlist. It would trade in a range from 11.00-12.99, an 18% increase. Another modest move compared to what we’re accustomed to with the pennies, but coming from a big board play, 18% in a single afternoon is very impressive.

Like NQ, VNDA was trading near a relative bottom when we passed it along to readers, and with this new-found momentum, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Whether or not VNDA can crack through its 50DMA (13.04) is going to be the deciding factor as to whether there’s more upside here. Yesterday’s high came in just shy of that mark, so we’ve got some resistance to contend with, but we’ll certainly be monitoring very closely for a break of that level on the chart.

Shamika 2 Gold, Inc. SHMX

SHMX is a sub-penny breakout play that we want to add to our radar this morning. Yesterday the stock traded 9x its 3-month average volume, and traded in a range from .0003-.0006. It always a good idea to be cautious when dealing with these triple-zero stocks, but as most of you know, when the potential risk is high, the potential rewards can be even higher.

We’re going to monitor this play for further activity, more specifically, a potential dip-and-rip. Should SHMX taper off and pull back, that’s where we’ll be waiting to strike. Correctly timing the bottom on one of these super–subpenny stocks can treat traders to a heck of a bounceplay as we’ve seen so many times in the past.

Side Note: AAPL Options

AAPL continued to break out yesterday past last week’s swing high of 644.17. Remember, on Monday we reminded everyone that the AAPL options chain was a good candidate to provide us with opportunities over the course of the week, and that has certainly been true thus far.  The $640 Calls were as cheap as 1.35 on that day, and by yesterday, they were going for as much as 9.50.

Huge moves like that have almost become commonplace, as we’ve tracked AAPL through a more-than 100-dollar increase in just the past couple of months.
