Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MNKD Recap & More

MannKind Corp. MNKD

We’ve been tracking MNKD pretty closely since April (saw a low of .6662 in May), and more recently, mentioned it in both Monday’s and yesterday’s premarket reports.

The intraweek swing made by the stock has been rather impressive, as it ran from a low of 2.01 on Monday to a new high of 6.51 yesterday. That works out to an increase of 224% Even readers who only caught yesterday’s alert still had a shot at gains of up to 80% (3.62-6.51).

Now’s a good time to mention our daily traders chats for the first time in awhile. These Skype-based live chats are open to any of our readers (Send contact request to “stocksumo”), and often provide added ideas over and above what we include in our daily premarket newsletters.

We signaled the MNKD Weekly $3.50 Calls and as you can see on the included snapshots, those subsequently ran from .40-2.80 for an intraday burst of 600%

Today we’ll want to keep an eye on the $5.00 and $5.50 Calls* in case MNKD wants to test that 6+ range again. We may also look to the 10/20 $5.50 and $6.00 Calls for possible swing trades in coming sessions.

*Important: Never trade options with a weekly expiration on a Friday unless you’re an expert trader with disposable funds. It’s extremely risky.

Constellation Brands, Inc. STZ – Options Update

After a premarket earning beat and outlook hike. we alerted on a range of contracts in the STZ options chain yesterday morning. We were looking to the STZ 10/20 $210-220 Calls and all three produced notable moves on the day.

The $210′s ran from 2.05-4.96 (+142%), the $215′s from 1.10-2.37(+115%), and the $220′s from .55-1.01 (+84%). We’ll definitely want to continue to keep an eye on these calls, which don’t expire for another couple of weeks.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PHOT Recap, Options Review & More

Growlife, Inc. PHOT

Amid a troubled market when a lot of stocks are stagnating, or even worse, plummeting, we managed to catch onto a great idea in yesterday’s premarket report with PHOT. Granted that we hadn’t mentioned the stock since the end of October, the timing in bringing back to the table was impeccable.

As you can see on the intraday chart below, PHOT logged a morning low of a penny before ramping its way up a full 100% to a daily high of .02 by early afternoon. It traded in a tight channel for the remainder of the session and managed to maintain a vast majority of those gains into the close at .0195.

While its actions alone certainly qualify for putting PHOT on a continued momentum watch, we’d urge a strong note of caution due to the fact that it is currently garnering a grey listing and caveat emptor warning at OTC Markets.

Alphabet Inc. GOOG – Options Idea

Our options idea from yesterday’s report turned up some excellent quick-strike chances in the first half of the session. We tagged a wide swathe of contracts in the range of GOOG Weekly $780-800 Calls, and each of the eight included targets provided similar gain opportunities.

In the interest of time, we’ll just provide the intraday swings on the first and last contracts in the series. The $780 Calls ran from a low of 6.70 to a high of 15.45 (+131%) and the $800′s made a jump from 1.90-5.50 (+190%).

Again, similar profits could have been attained with any one of the contracts in our highlighted range. Cheers to anyone able to take advantage of those moves which were propelled by GOOG’s post-market earnings beat on Monday.

Added Note: Stay tuned for tomorrow’s report when we’ll be formulating some fresh ideas based off of one or more of the high profile earnings releases slated for post-market today (GPRO, GM, YUM, etc.)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PZOO Recap & More

Pazoo, Inc. PZOO

Our timing in re-alerting our readers to PZOO’s prime positioning in yesterday’s premarket report was absolutely spot-on. The stock had finally found and bounced off of a solid level of support in the prior session, and yesterday’s trading range provided a great chance for traders to make a solid buck.

From an early low of a penny, the needle was pointing up all day as PZOO ran into the end of the session, hitting .0136 for an intraday gain of 36% The stock closed just two ticks below its high of day (.0134) and logged a trading volume of nearly double the 3-month average.

Anytime we see a momentous daily performance like that, we’re always on the lookout for residual gains in following sessions.

We also want to remind our readers that today is the start of the a 4th Annual Marijuana Business Conference and Expo in Chicago, at which PZOO has secured a booth. It’s currently the country’s largest cannabis trade show, and runs from today through Thursday, with most of the activities kicking off tomorrow..

*We know that we have quite a few subscribers in the Greater Chicagoland Area, so we’d suggest going over to the conference at the Chicago Hilton to visit with Pazoo’s reps. The first 200 people to stop at the booth will receive a free custom t-shirt. >> Official PR

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

We re-tagged PLUG, an old favorite, in our morning report from a week ago today. At the time, we saw a marginal gain from 2.48-2.73, and after spending another few sessions under an overall consolidation, PLUG found support yesterday at 2.53 where it began to rebound. In the premarket today the stock has traded as high 2.80.

We’re going to extend an options idea for PLUG that is significantly long-term; the September 18th $3.00 Calls (Last Traded: .19) could be in line to provide us with a solid opportunity/opportunities in the weeks and months ahead.

OraSure Technologies, Inc. OSUR

We also wanted to remind our readers of another timely alert we entered into the mix in yesterday’s report. OSUR traded in a range from 6.40 to 7.59, a respectable 19% increase.

Today the stock has surpassed that high in the premarket, running as high as 8.00, which extends the total overnight gain we’ve seen so far to 25% We’re going be watching for OSUR to possibly continue this run on the heel of some joint press with Walgreens this morning.

Potential Momentum Plays

Here we’ve got a couple of ‘momo-plays’ (one of which with a fresh PR out this morning) that we’re going to be keeping an eye on today:

Enviro-Serv, Inc. EVSV

NOHO, Inc. DRNK

Extended Watchlist:
MNGA, MKND, EGI, TRQ, JDST, GIGA

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Another Week Off to a Great Start

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG
-
After outlining some potential opportunities in the options chain, ISRG behaved as we hoped it might yesterday, and delivered in a big way.

The Weekly $385 Calls made a 22% move from 21.50-26.20. The Weekly $395′s fared even better, with a daily low of 11.60 giving way to a 17.02 close; good for up to 47% in profits.

There were even big-time chances on the longer term Calls we mentioned, for example, the October $420 Calls ranged from 17.36 all the way up to 24.60, a 42% rip.

We’ll continue to track the Call-side on ISRG as provided by a continued trend off of its recent relative bottom.

Solar Wind Energy tower, Inc. SWET

We tried to give our readers advance notice on SWET and the chart’s potential for a nice move up, first bringing it up on Friday, and focusing in again in yesterday morning’s report. We were happy to see things take a northerly turn to kick off the week, as the stock ran 18% intraday from .0193 and reaching .0227, a solid 23% increase from Friday’s low of .0185.

We still like the look of things with regard to the chart, and with oil & gas spiking it can provide a boost to solar plays like this one, as we’re now witnessing. We’ll keep SWET on our radar screens as the week progresses, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see further opportunities come down the pipe.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc GWPH

GWPH was a stock that we were tracking along with the large group of cannabis-related stocks earlier this year. On January 27th, we had it listed among several plays that we felt could provide continued opportunities, and over the past few months, it has become a real success-story for us.

Coming from the $50-range back in late January, the stock made an extremely nice move to the tune of roughly 65% up to the low $80′s.

After a period of consolidation in which it came all the way back down to find support at 41.86 (Apr 15th), and we’ve now seen it trend up once again, reaching 79.24 on Thursday, an added 89% increase. So the opportunities have certainly been present, and the stock is gapping up even higher in the pre-market on the heels of an apparently well-received PR released at 7am this morning.

We also want to radar the $80-85 Calls on the options side of things, to maximize our potential even further on this play.

LONDON, June 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GW Pharmaceuticals plc (GWPH) (GWP.L) (“GW,” “the Company” or “the Group”), a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing novel therapeutics from its proprietary cannabinoid product platform, today announced physician reports of efficacy and safety data on 27 children and young adults with treatment-resistant epilepsy who have been treated with GW’s investigational cannabidiol (CBD) product candidate, Epidiolex(R), for a period of 12 weeks. >> FULL PR

DDD ($52-53 Calls), FST, WAVX, AGRX, GIGA, PNBK

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: VNDA, NQ & More

NQ Mobile, Inc. NQ

Yesterday, we pointed out all the reasons why we felt that NQ was in a good position to make a run, and we certainly hope folks took it to heart, because the stock followed it up with an solid session.

We first observed a morning low of 9.40, and NQ subsequently made a healthy move to a high of 10.85 on the afternoon, which was good for an intraday gain of 15%

On the options side of things, the $10 Calls dipped as low as .35, and went on to trade as high as a 1.00. This provides a good example of why we’ve gotten more and more into trading options on big board plays. Even just a modest move on the chart can translate into huge gains on the right contracts.

NQ is gapping up to the tune of another 5% this morning, so we’ll continue to keep an eye on things as we head into week’s end.

So far, from the low we observed following our tag of NQ toward the end of last month (6.25) we’ve seen gains on the order of 77%

Vanda Pharmaceuticals, Inc. VNDA

VNDA was another NASDAQ-listed stock that appeared in yesterday’s report on the Extended Watchlist. It would trade in a range from 11.00-12.99, an 18% increase. Another modest move compared to what we’re accustomed to with the pennies, but coming from a big board play, 18% in a single afternoon is very impressive.

Like NQ, VNDA was trading near a relative bottom when we passed it along to readers, and with this new-found momentum, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Whether or not VNDA can crack through its 50DMA (13.04) is going to be the deciding factor as to whether there’s more upside here. Yesterday’s high came in just shy of that mark, so we’ve got some resistance to contend with, but we’ll certainly be monitoring very closely for a break of that level on the chart.

Shamika 2 Gold, Inc. SHMX

SHMX is a sub-penny breakout play that we want to add to our radar this morning. Yesterday the stock traded 9x its 3-month average volume, and traded in a range from .0003-.0006. It always a good idea to be cautious when dealing with these triple-zero stocks, but as most of you know, when the potential risk is high, the potential rewards can be even higher.

We’re going to monitor this play for further activity, more specifically, a potential dip-and-rip. Should SHMX taper off and pull back, that’s where we’ll be waiting to strike. Correctly timing the bottom on one of these super–subpenny stocks can treat traders to a heck of a bounceplay as we’ve seen so many times in the past.

Side Note: AAPL Options

AAPL continued to break out yesterday past last week’s swing high of 644.17. Remember, on Monday we reminded everyone that the AAPL options chain was a good candidate to provide us with opportunities over the course of the week, and that has certainly been true thus far.  The $640 Calls were as cheap as 1.35 on that day, and by yesterday, they were going for as much as 9.50.

Huge moves like that have almost become commonplace, as we’ve tracked AAPL through a more-than 100-dollar increase in just the past couple of months.
