Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HSY Options & More

The Hershey Co. HSY

We’re looking at one of the biggest players in the Halloween candy game in Hershey as we kick off a fresh trading week. The company reported its Q3 earnings on Thursday, and despite a frosty reception from Wall Street, we are liking the look of this play.

The company asserts that it is on a good path, having had what the CEO calls a game changing year. While the stock did see its biggest daily loss since 2016 on Thursday following the report, it did not turn into a multi-day slide. Coupled with what looks to be another rebound day for the markets at large, and we’re interested in signaling a few HSY Calls.

We’ll place the HSY Weekly $102-104 Calls on watch this morning.

Bonus Idea:
Nutanix, Inc. NTNX 01/18 $42.50 & $45 Calls

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

On Tuesday, we noted that with such a sharp and rapid downturn in the markets, that a rebound was certain to be in the cards for the SPY. It led us to signal interest in the SPY 10/31 $275-277 Calls, which will certainly be in play today as the SPY is gapping up big this morning in the premarket.

We’ll be back tomorrow morning with a recap of what is likely to be a cleanup session for these plays today.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MCD Options & More

McDonald’s Corp. MCD

As we were looking for stocks that appear to be in position to buck the  bearish market trend we’ve experienced this week, we’ve settled on McDonald’s.

The hamburger giant posted some beefy Q3 numbers this morning. including a solid beat on earnings and worldwide same store sales, even as US same store sales missed expectations.

We’re going to signal a range of weekly calls to try to take advantage of the situation, and those are going to be the MCD Weekly $165-172.50 Calls.

PetMed Express, Inc. PETS – Update

We also want to rehash yesterday morning’s fresh options idea, which focused upon the PETS 12/21 $30 & 35 Calls. This pair of contracts recorded a solid first day for us, despite the tumultuous market conditions.

Both plays exceeded single-session gains of at least a hundred percent, and will retain their spot on our watchlist for the remainder of the week.

The $30 Calls traded up from a low of 1.55 up to 3.70 for a gain of 139% while the $35′s ran from .51-1.21, marking a 137% move on the day.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

With such a sharp and rapid downturn in the markets, a rebound is certain to be headed our way at some point soon, so we’re going to signal a range of calls in the SPY. We’ve generally posted a very good track record in terms of utilizing the SPY’s options chain to our advantage in the past.

Our targets for the next week will be the SPY 10/31 $275-277 Calls as we await a recovery from this week’s early losses.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: LULU Recap & More

Lululemon Athletica Inc. LULU – Update

We signaled a range of calls in the LULU options chain in the wake of the company’s earnings beat yesterday morning, and we were met with some fantastic opportunities at huge single-session gains.

Every one of the five sets of contracts, the LULU Weekly $83-85 Calls, produced a shot at double-bag gains on the day, which were as follows:

$83 Calls
– Range: 1.60-4.50  – Max Gain: 181%
$83.50 Calls – Range: 1.25-4.15 – Max Gain: 232%
$84 Calls – Range: 1.20-3.80– Max Gain: 217%
$84.50 Calls – Range: 1.00-2.90 – Max Gain: 190%
$85 Calls – Range: .82-3.24 – Max Gain: 295%

With such solid moves in just one day, LULU doesn’t owe us anything, but we’re still going to roll up our potential strike range and monitor the Weekly $85-86 Calls* as we finish out this short trading week.

Fresh Options Idea:
Constellation Brands, Inc. STZ Weekly $222.50-230 Calls*

*Do NOT trade weekly calls on the last day of the week unless you are an expert level trader!

Elev8 Brands, Inc. VATE

As you can see from our commentary on the annotated chart below, we’re interested in the setup of the VATE chart at the moment. The stock just began to consolidate off of a sizable surge that had persisted for most of this month.

We’re going to put it on bottom watch, and look for an eventual rebound in the event it can maintain support at or above the .05-mark.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BLDV Review & More

Blue Diamond Ventures, Inc. BLDV

One among the many great calls to come out of our daily live trader’s chats* recently, BLDV came into view for us on Thursday April 20th, as the stock was mentioned in the room and subsequently went on a big run from .0005-.0017 (+240%).

We brought it up in our premarket report the following day, and the run continued from .0016-.0029 (+81%). After that a slight pullback occurred over the next session, but since then the stock has been on the rise again, and this week has brought new highs.

Yesterday, after appearing in our morning report once again, BLDV went on another tear and reached a new high for us. The stock made a 42% intraday push from .0036 and hit .0051. From our observed low of just nine sessions earlier, the stock has increased by an incredible 920%

Even those who missed the initial chatroom call and only caught BLDV in our premarket report on Friday the 21st at its low of .0016 that day, still had a chance at up to 219% in gains. The stock had a pretty strong close on high volume, so we’ll continue to monitor its progress even though it has already served us so well.

*Finding opportunities in the premarket is a big part of what we do every single trading day, but sometimes the real movers don’t reveal themselves until regular market hours commence. That’s where the chatroom comes in, giving ourselves and our participants the chance to spot and share the big movers as they crop up. Send a Skype contact request to ‘stocksumo‘ to get involved with our trader’s chats!

Balmoral Resources, Ltd. BALMF

After noticing the company released what it referred to as “high grade gold results from its Detour Gold Trend Project in Quebec” in a fresh PR this morning (>>View PR) we also took a look at the BALMF chart and saw that the stock itself has been working its way down to a bottom recently and is approaching heavily oversold territory.

Indications are that it could see slightly lower prices before making a rebound, so we’ll just want to ensure that it holds at or above December’s swing low of .46 on any further pullbacks. If it does, we’ll be very interested to track BALMF, especially given the fact that they’re officially ‘on the gold’ at their Quebec property.

Weight Watchers International, Inc. WTW – Options Idea

Weight Watchers has been breaking into blue skies, with an incredible bullish move that has lasted for the better part of six weeks. Heavy activity in this morning’s premarket leads us to think that despite already being up so high, WTW’s good fortunes could continues for awhile longer.

We’ll have an eye on the WTW Weekly $24-25 Calls on the chance that our hunch in correct.
