Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Success & More

 AT&T, Inc. T – Update

As we were mentioning yesterday, AT&T was ripening for a rebound, and the stock did post a bullish session. It allowed for the beginning of what could still end up being an even more impressive move in the options contracts that we signaled for observation.

We put the T 01/19 $34-36 Calls on watch for a longer-term idea, and they got off to a good start, even as the markets in general took a turn for the worse. The solid performance of T made the following gains possible for our options calls:

$34 Calls – Range: .91-1.33 – Max Gain: 46%
$35 Calls – Range: .53-.89 – Max Gain: 68%
$36 Calls – Range: 37-.56 – Max Gain: 51%

At the present time, we still think AT&T has a ton of upside, with indicators on the chart suggesting that yesterday’s positive session was only a precursor to what could be a much bigger rebound.

Trio of Fresh Options Ideas

We’ve got a couple of daytrading ideas for the NVDA and ROKU options chains, and as we always do, we’d like to caution our readers against trading weekly options on a Friday unless you are an expert trader with disposable funds. It’s incredibly risky.

NVIDIA Corp. – NVDA Weekly $205-212.50 Calls
Roku, Inc. – ROKU Weekly $28-30 Calls

We’ve also got a fresh, longer-term idea to add to our list of tracked contracts, after noticing Price Smart was showing a strong double-bottom signal. We’ll place the following idea on watch in coming sessions.as we await this stock’s recovery.

PriceSmart, Inc. – PSMT 01/19 $80 & $85 Calls

Options Recap

Both of our options ideas from yesterday’s morning report ended up providing us with a chance at sizable single-session gains.

Canadian Solar, Inc. CSIQ

We caught CSIQ in the unique position of having just registered a new 52-week low in the previous session, and having its earnings beat expectations yesterday, so jumping on CSIQ Weekly $16.50-18 Calls ended up being a sound strategy right from the outset. The impressive intraday moves were as follows:

$16.50 Calls – Trading Range: 1.20-1.76 – Max Gain: 47%
$17 Calls – Trading Range: .87-1.50 – Max Gain: 72%
$17.50 Calls– Trading Range: .30-.97 – Max Gain: 223%
$18 Calls – Trading Range: .27-.82 – Max Gain: 204%

Macy’s Inc. M

We went bearish on Macy’s yesterday, partly due to the overall downtrend the stock has seen in recent weeks, and as a reaction to yesterday morning’s disappointing earnings call. In this case our target range was the M Weekly $36-34 Puts and hefty gains were available across the board, including a big triple-bagger in the $34′s.

$36 Puts – Trading Range: 1.83-4.37  – Max Gain: 139%
$35.50 Puts – Trading Range: 1.40-3.79 – Max Gain: 171%
$35 Puts– Trading Range: 1.00-3.60 – Max Gain: 260%
$34.50 Puts – Trading Range: .83-2.88 – Max Gain: 247%
$34 Puts – Trading Range: .50-2.58 – Max Gain: 347%

_______

Fresh Ideas:  To throw some other options ideas into the mix this morning, we’re going to be adding Monsanto Co. MON Weekly $102-106 Calls and Jack in the Box, Inc. JACK 05/20 $70 and $75 Calls to our track-list.

Cerebain Biotech Corp. CBBT

We put CBBT on our radars last Tuesday after noticing some increased activity in the stock. Since our mention, subsequent to which we observed a low .53, we’ve seen a good bit of progress leading up to yesterday’s high of 1.25. That’s an overall move of 136%

The high came just prior to the closing bell, at which CBBT held a PPS of 1.20 so we’ll continue to monitor the situation carefully. We’ve had success recently with low-float, low-volume plays, and CBBT fits that bill to a tee.

Fresh Bottom-Watchlist

Our morning scan yielded up a couple of stocks trading at or near their relative bottoms that we want to put on the radar this midweek.

Canadian Solar, Inc. CSIQ

CSIQ began showing some life yesterday after it briefly touched its lowest PPS since last summer and began to rebound into the close. This morning, a Q1 earnings beat is fueling a gap-up into the $17-range. We’ll be on the lookout for quick-strike options trades with the CSIQ Weekly $16.50-18 Calls. Especially if a dip-and-rip occurs at the outset, we could really see some significant intraday swings out of contracts in that range.

Sequenom, Inc. SQNM

SQNM is interesting as a bottom-watcher on a couple of different levels. Not only is it extremely low-priced for a NASDAQ play at just over the exchange minimum PPS of a dollar, but it has also seen an influx of insider buying this week. We’ll have to stay wary as chart indicators suggest the stock may yet need to search out its ultimate bottom, but we’ll be ready for a rebound at any time in coming sessions. It could come quickly in this case, so keep your eyes peeled.

Macy’s Inc. M – Options Idea

We’ve also got our eyes on Macy’s this morning, which has been on a fairly continuous downslide for the better part of three weeks, and is getting kicked hard again in premarket trading this morning.

The company tempered its guidance for the remainder of the year, and missed estimates on sales considerably in this morning’s earning call. We’re going to look to turn the bearish sentiment surrounding the stock at the into a possible boon for ourselves. To do this we’ll look to the M Weekly $36-34 Puts for possible daytrades and/or swing trades into week’s end.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Friday’s Movers, New Ideas & More

Friday’s Notable Moves

Each of the following plays exhibited appreciable upswings on Friday afternoon after having appeared in our reports for the day and days prior. We’ll have each of these stocks on watch for the possibility of continued momentum this morning:

Nate’s Food Co. NHMD

NHMD covered the most ground as it traded in a range from .0019-.0035 on Friday, running 84% intraday and closing at the high of day on volume to the tune of well over five times its 3-month average. We’ll certainly have an eye out for further activity as we open things up on this holiday-shortened trading week.

Guided Therapeutics, Inc. GTHP

We latched onto GTHP early last week and would see a nice little two-day run from the stock to finish it out. Our observed low came on Thursday at .0102, which gave way to a subsequent high of .015 on Friday, marking an overnight increase of 47%

Sparta Commercial Services, Inc. SRCO

SRCO was a steady climber on Friday which traversed its way from .0025 to .0031 over the course of the day, which represents a modest yet notable 24% rise. It too qualifies for sustained monitoring as a possible momentum play, having closed at its high mark for the session.

ProGreen Properties, Inc. PGEI

We want to put PGEI on our radars this morning as well, not only for the momentous session it had on Friday, but also due to the content of the PR released by the company early this morning.

Following up from a release they put out in January, the company announced the completion of a joint venture agreement that puts them on track to develop a 300-acre property of proposed farmland in Baja California, Mexico in time for this year’s growing season. We’ll be interested to follow along for further updates on that project as well as watch the chart for short-term opportunities.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – Options Idea

On Friday the markets enjoyed the biggest single-session rally since 2009. With oil rebounding as well, and the S&P having demonstrated a definitive reversal over the past couple of sessions, we’ll want to start the week off  monitoring some SPY Options. Our target area is going to be the SPY Weekly $188-191 Calls.

Fannie Mae – FNMA & Freddie Mac – FMCC

Our alert on FNMA Friday yielded us the #1 ranking on the Penny Stock Rumble for the second time last week (1st time was for TCPS). The stock opened up at a low of 2.255, only to run as high as 3.15 for a nice 40% move.

We’ve been tracking FNMA and FMCC since May 15th and May 16th, and each has risen in PPS greatly since that time.

FNMA – Low (05/16):1.20 – Friday’s High: 3.51 – Gained: 193%

FMCC – Low (05/15): 1.11 – Friday’s High: 3.30 – Gained: 197%

Canadian Solar Inc. CSIQ

CSIQ is gapping up close to 25% this morning, hitting new 52-week highs. The stock came off of our Solar Sector watchlist, having last appeared on Friday, at which time is was trading as low as 8.10. We are going to be continuing to monitor its progress today as we begin this short trading week.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

We’ve been talking about PLUG for most of this year (For the first time on Feb 15th), seeing some big gains in that time. We most recently were looking at PLUG on Wednesday as it reached new highs of .3847. Since then, we’ve observed a pullback, as the stock came down to find support at the .25-level.

This morning, we have seen a high of .42 pre-market, with the last trade executed at .39, up around 16% We want to keep watch over this play, as well as the Energy Sector as a whole, as they continue to heat up.

From last week’s low of .25, this morning’s .42-high marks a possible gain of up to 68% From February’s low of .1155, that figure climbs as high as 264%

S2C Global Systems, Inc. STWG

STWG has appeared in our reports as far back as December, and before last week, as recently as April 19th. . We re-mentioned it once again on Thursday after the company came out with its first PR in years. It broke its previous resistance (.0075) and continued its uptrend, STWG hit a new high of a penny on Friday, and ended up closing at .0095. From its low of .0011 reached in March, the penny high represents a move of 810%

We’d like to see the previous resistance at .0075 hold as a future level of support.

Options Trading:
We are also looking at AAPL $445 and $450 Calls today, provided we hold support off of last week’s resistance at 448.35.
