Multiple Options Updates, Fresh Ideas

Options Trading Updates:

A lot of the potential options targets we’ve been signaling for observation lately have had a July 15th expiration date, which is a slight departure from our typical targeting of weekly contracts. It has made sense in the current choppy climate being cause by a seemingly constant ebb and flow of recession concerns.

So this morning in addition to providing the moves made by the lone idea in yesterday’s report, the KRTX 07/15 $125-130 Calls, we’ll provide updates on a number of other still-active plays we’ve been tracking that are getting along quite nicely. Those are the KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls, the WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls, and the NFLX 07/22 $185-190 Calls. We called those on June 23rdJune 22nd and July 1st, respectively. Here are the total gains that have been possible with those plays over that time frames:

Kicking Off Another Short Trading Week

Options Play Review:

Heading into the long weekend on Friday, we took just one stab at a set of potential quick-strike weekly targets. We went to the short side on Micron Technology and thanks in part to an early dip in the markets, that idea yielded a pretty good set of runners.

We were zeroed in on the MU Weekly $53.50-52 Puts which produced the following multi-bag intraday runs for us:

MU Weekly $53.50-52 Puts
$53.50:
.66-2.06 (+212%)
$53: .43-1.65 (+284%)
$52: .20-.85 (+325%)

Additionally, we wanted to do a quick recap of a couple of the plays we signaled interest in earlier in the week. We flagged ideas in General Mills and McCormick in Wednesday morning’s report that finished out the week with strength and posted new highs. Our targets were the GIS 07/15 $70-72.50 Calls and the MKC 07/15 $90-80 Puts, which put up the following trading ranges and total possible gains between Wednesday and Friday.

GIS 07/15 $70-72.50 Calls
$70: 1.69-5.90 (+249%)
$72.50: .75-3.50 (+367%)
_____

MKC 07/15 $90-80 Puts
$90: 6.00-8.10 (+35%)
$85: 2.01-3.60 (+80%)
$80: .60-1.20 (+100%)

Ending the 4-Day Week with 4 Fresh Options Ideas

Good Environment for Options:

We’re wrapping up another solid trading week today, and it certainly was an uncharacteristically bullish one when compared to the typical holiday-shortened week. The markets ripped into the close again yesterday, and that provided an extra boost for some of the options plays we’ve been tracking.

From yesterday morning’s report, the DRI 07/15 $120-125 Calls and the KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls made instant moves for us despite still having an additional three weeks before expiring, while the WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls from Wednesday’s premarket newsletter continued their run and tacked on some new highs as well. Here are the overall moves and total possible gains on those targets:

$120: 1.85-2.40 (+30%)
$125: .80-1.10 (+38%)

Smooth Move on the SPY, Earnings Plays & More

Flip to SPY Calls Proves Timely:

In yesterday morning’s premarket report, just one out of the three options ideas we put forth was a quick-strike play, and that was our spur of the moment bullish take on the SPY. After multiple recent sessions of rooting out solid gain opportunities from SPY Puts (On Friday and Monday) we flipped to the other side of the fence just in time to catch yesterday’s market rally.

That led to some very nice multibag profit chances on the day from our targeted range, the SPY 06/15 $374-376 Calls. Those big-time moves were as follows:

SPY 06/15 $374-376 Calls
$374: 2.13-9.47 (+345%)
$375: 1.74-8.70 (+400%)
$376: 1.46-7.80 (+434%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
ADBE Weekly $372.50-370 Puts
CMC Weekly $35-37 Calls
KR Weekly $51-49.50 Puts

ProText Mobility, Inc. TXTM – Update:

We’ve been updating readers on new highs in TXTM for the last few sessions, with the stock pushing the envelope more each day. Following yesterday’s report, it set another new high of .0113, crossing the border from subpenny status into penny-plus territory.

Our original low following our initial alert on the stock (May 24th) was .0016. From that level, yesterday’s high represents an overall increase of 606% Even if traders only caught on with our mention on Monday morning, they would still be looking at a three-day upswing of 115% from .0045-.0113.

GS, PEP Options Review, Fresh Ideas & More

GS, PEP Options Breakout:

With the earnings drought just days away from finally ending, we still have been managing to seek out winning plays. As we’ve said, next week begins a torrential outpouring of quarterly reporters on the order of dozens, if not hundreds per day!

We got back on the track of options perfection yesterday, with both of our fresh ideas in our premarket report yielding stellar intraday chances to profit. We had selected the GS Weekly $380-385 Calls and the PEP Weekly $149-152.50 Calls following Goldman Sachs and Pepsi’s earnings releases.

Despite an up-and-down sort of a session for the markets at large, we witnessed some serious multibag moves from every single contract we slated for observation. Here are the total possible gains that traders could have logged on the strength of those ideas:

GS Weekly $380-385 Calls
$380: 1.64-4.69 (+186%)
$382.50: 1.19-3.68 (+209%)
$385: .85-2.89 (+240%)
_____

PEP Weekly $149-152.50 Calls
$149: 2.20-4.95 (+125%)
$150: 1.50-4.00 (+167%)
$152.50: .43-1.73 (+302%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 07/14 $436-437 Calls*
C Weekly $69-70 Calls

*Please be aware that these SPY Calls will expire at the end of the trading day. Trading options on the day of their expiration is a high-risk/high-reward proposition that should only be undertaken by experienced traders!
