Kicking Off Another Short Trading Week

Options Play Review:

Heading into the long weekend on Friday, we took just one stab at a set of potential quick-strike weekly targets. We went to the short side on Micron Technology and thanks in part to an early dip in the markets, that idea yielded a pretty good set of runners.

We were zeroed in on the MU Weekly $53.50-52 Puts which produced the following multi-bag intraday runs for us:

MU Weekly $53.50-52 Puts
$53.50:
.66-2.06 (+212%)
$53: .43-1.65 (+284%)
$52: .20-.85 (+325%)

Additionally, we wanted to do a quick recap of a couple of the plays we signaled interest in earlier in the week. We flagged ideas in General Mills and McCormick in Wednesday morning’s report that finished out the week with strength and posted new highs. Our targets were the GIS 07/15 $70-72.50 Calls and the MKC 07/15 $90-80 Puts, which put up the following trading ranges and total possible gains between Wednesday and Friday.

GIS 07/15 $70-72.50 Calls
$70: 1.69-5.90 (+249%)
$72.50: .75-3.50 (+367%)

Gain Clients, Inc. GCLT – OTC Recap:

We also have a brief update on GCLT, an OTC stock we flagged in Friday morning’s extended watchlist. The made a very respectable intraday move, running from a low of .018 on up to a high of .0349. That works out to a single-session rip of 94% and that came on its second-highest daily volume ever recorded, with the previous session being the first.

Friday’s Rippers, Fresh Ideas

Reviewing Winning Options Plays:

We made our typical attempt at unearthing some winning options ideas on Friday morning, and with a boatload of earnings reporters to choose from we went with Twitter and Snapchat, in addition to some SPY calls, as we were confident in a bullish session for the markets at large.

Our estimation proved accurate as the markets ripped all day long, and that made for some interesting daily gain opportunities in our designated contract sets. Specifically, we were tracking the TWTR Weekly $71.50-73 Calls, the SNAP Weekly $72.50-73.50 Calls, and the SPY 07/23 $436-437.50 Calls.

In each and every case we were afforded the opportunity to log multi-bag intraday gains. The total ranges and moves on those plays were as follows:

TWTR Weekly $71.50-73 Calls
$71.50: .59-1.56 (+164%)
$72: .45-1.24 (+175%)
$72.50: .32-.97 (+203%)
$73: .23-.73 (+217%)
_____

SNAP Weekly $72.50-73.50 Calls
$72.50:
 2.48-6.44 (+160%)
$73: 2.00-6.05 (+202%)
$73.50: 1.30-5.32 (+309%)
_____

SPY 07/23 $436-437.50 Calls
$436: 1.22-4.43 (+263%)
$437: .64-3.49 (+445%)

AXSM Runner, Options Ideas

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. AXSM

We’ve got a major recent success story to tell with AXSM today. We highlighted this stock roughly seven weeks ago in our report on October 16th, and AXSM has done very little else but continue to press upward, setting new highs on a practically daily basis.

We would tag in yesterday’s report once again before seeing the stock attain new highs for the umpteenth time in recent weeks.  Our observed low following our initial alert is 20.48, and as of yesterday’s brand new high of 47.24, that marks a fantastic swing of 131% There’s no telling where this wild ride will let off, with the stock having already been firmly in Blue Sky territory for well over a week now.

Fresh Options Ideas

Workday Inc. WDAY reported on earnings in the post-market yesterday, and despite a beat on sales and earnings, the company’s forecast precipitated a shakedown of the stock. We’re going to sit on the bearish side of the fence and monitor to the WDAY Weekly $167.50-165 Puts

Excelon Corp. EXC is simply a double-bottom, potential extended-term rebound idea that we want to offer up. We’re going to begin tracking the EXC 02/21 $45-47 Calls, with the stock looking due for a recovery at any time.
