SPY Calls Break Out, Fresh Plays

Options Recaps:

On the options trading front, we are making our way through the earnings drought as best we can recently, and doing a fairly good job of it if we say so ourselves. We’re in for another week-plus of this, with the days of having plenty of earnings reporters on the calendar set to return on Monday the 18th.

For now, we’ll keep plugging away and taking whatever we can get, and for yesterday’s report that came in the form of the SPY 07/06 $380-382 Calls which absolutely ripped, and the RFP 07/15 $17.50-20 Calls. Additionally, we’ve got some new highs to report in the GIS 07/15 $70-72.50 Calls which we alerted on last Wednesday.

OTC Updates:

We have a couple of OTC stocks that have been mentioned in recent extended watchlists to update readers on this morning as well. We always try to flag potential plays on the lower exchanges in our watchlists, and very often, it bears significant fruit.

We mentioned HMBL on Tuesday morning and the stock has posted an intraweek run from .048-.0992 which marks an upswing of 107%, and this past Thursday we signaled EMGE which has made a rip-roaring move of 273% from .0082-.0306 in just a week’s time.

Multiple Options Updates, Fresh Ideas

Options Trading Updates:

A lot of the potential options targets we’ve been signaling for observation lately have had a July 15th expiration date, which is a slight departure from our typical targeting of weekly contracts. It has made sense in the current choppy climate being cause by a seemingly constant ebb and flow of recession concerns.

So this morning in addition to providing the moves made by the lone idea in yesterday’s report, the KRTX 07/15 $125-130 Calls, we’ll provide updates on a number of other still-active plays we’ve been tracking that are getting along quite nicely. Those are the KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls, the WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls, and the NFLX 07/22 $185-190 Calls. We called those on June 23rdJune 22nd and July 1st, respectively. Here are the total gains that have been possible with those plays over that time frames:

KRTX 07/15 $125-130 Calls

$125: 15.00-19.00 (+27%)
$130: 11.67-17.24 (+48%)
_____

KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls
$27:
1.75-3.65 (+109%)
$28: 1.25-2.10 (+68%)
_____

WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls
$45:
3.00-7.00 (+233%)
$50: .95-3.40 (+258%)
_____

NFLX 07/22 $185-190 Calls
$185: 9.18-15.38 (+68%)
$187.50: 13.25-14.25 (+8%)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CNXS Recap & More

Connexus Corp. CNXS

After initially tagging CNXS on Thursday May 25th amid a major spike of bitcoin hysteria, we witnessed a low of .0007 in the stock, and in the six sessions that have followed it has been building up quite a head of steam.

From that initial observed low, CNXS has gone on to hit a high of .003. which represents a very nice move of 329% while volume over this recent period has been heightened considerably.

We’ve been noticing a few other newsletters finally catching on, but to our knowledge we were the first to the party on CNXS. We’ll continue to monitor its progress moving forward, and will remain interested provided it holds support at or above a previous area of resistance at .0018 on any pullbacks.

FitBit, Inc. FIT – Options Idea

After sitting on the sidelines for many months on FIT, and watching the stock get crushed, we’ve seen it beginning to come up off of its recently established 52-week lows and are beginning to see it as a potential value play.

If our inkling is correct, a play of FIT stock itself would likely work out rather well over the longer term, but as our readers are aware, we like to try to score big with options plays when an opportunity presents itself.

In this case, we’d like to signal a range of extended-term contracts with an August expiration, namely, the FIT 08/18 $5-7 Calls. This will give us plenty of time for FIT to restablish itself and hopefully mount the recovery that appears possible given the current look of the chart.

Celsion Corp. CLSN

Speaking of bottom plays, we’re noticing that CLSN has recently registered a new annual low on Wednesday, and has been attempting to gain some traction and come up off of that bottom.

With the stock very close to extreme oversold territory, we’ll want to place it on watch as a possible rebound play.
