Thursday’s Successes, 5 Ideas for Friday

Recapping Thursday’s Plays:

We fared pretty well with yesterday’s fresh options ideas. We included a slate of five potential plays in our premarket report for the day, and out of those targets, four produced intraday opportunities ranging from decent, to very good. Tuesday’s Clean Sweep, 4 New Targets

Tuesday’s Options Runners:

We went bearish on all three of the earnings-based options ideas we presented in yesterday morning’s premarket report. A challenging day for the markets at large only boosted their performances, which led to some really nice intraday gain opportunities for traders. We’re seeing a pickup in the volume of earnings reporters as compared to last week, which is always good in terms of having fresh material for quick-strike options ideas.

Our targets yesterday were the SE Weekly $84-82 Puts, the HD Weekly $285-280 Puts, and the BIDU Weekly $127-125 Puts. Here is the breakdown of the figures they put up for us on the session:

SE Weekly $84-82 Puts
$84: 5.05-13.10 (+159%)
$83: 4.80-11.94 (+149%)
$82: 3.34-10.95 (+228%)
_____

HD Weekly $285-280 Puts
$285: 2.96-6.05 (+104%)
$282.50: 2.02-4.50 (+123%)
$280: 1.35-3.20 (+137%)
_____

BIDU Weekly $127-125 Puts
$127: 1.23-2.63 (+114%)
$126: .84-2.00 (+138%)
$125: .66-1.65 (+150%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
DOCS Weekly $32.50-30 Puts
TGT Weekly $155-157.50 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PVTL Bottom Play & More

Pivotal Software Inc. PVTL

We’ve been quietly tracking this play for quite some time, and feel it’s just about ready to make a move. As you can see on the included chart, PVTL has sold off after recent earnings, and the stock has found support at a solid double-bottom in the $19-range.

You can also see that PVTL is approaching heavily oversold territory, and the MACD is converging sharply toward a bullish cross, not to mention a sizable gap to the upside. We’re going to want to have a range of options contracts on watch in the days and weeks ahead in the event that the rebound occurs which looks just about due at the present time.

Our targets will be the PVTL 10/19 $19-22 Calls.

Blackberry Ltd. BB

We also want to designate a pair of options contracts for the Blackberry chain this morning on the heels of the company’s Q2 profit beat.

We’ll be looking for a dip-and-rip scenario, which, if it occurs, should produce some significant gain opportunities in the BB Weekly $10 & $10.50 Calls.
