Blue Horseshoe Stocks: The Week in Review & More

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – Options Recap

Our idea in weekly SPY calls has repeatedly produced this week, continuing the trend from Wednesday with a really nice session yesterday. Each of the three contracts in the our highlighted range of SPY Weekly $204-206 Calls pushed the upper limits and soared to new highs as markets rallied for the third straight day.

On the table below, we’ve included both yesterday’s daily gains, as well as the total increase off of our observed lows from Wednesday (1.45, .87 and .47 respectively):

$204 Calls – Range: 2.59-5.46 – Intraday Gain: 111% – Overall Move: 277%
$205 Calls – Range: 1.68-4.51 – Intraday Gain: 168% – Overall Move: 418%
$206 Calls – Range: .83-3.58 – Intraday Gain: 331% – Overall Move: 662%

Mobileye N.V. (MBLY) – Update

We also had a fresh idea in yesterday’s report, namely the MBLY Weekly $44.50-46.50 Calls. While we didn’t see a full sweep of our observed range in terms of big potential profits, three out of the five sets of contracts recorded sizable intra-session pops, including a monstrous octuple-bagger in the 46’s!

$45 Calls – Range: 1.80-2.50 – Max Gain: 144%
$46 Calls – Range: .31-3.00 – Max Gain: 868%
$46.50 Calls – Range: .70-1.50 – Max Gain: 44%

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – Fresh Options Idea

We’ll go ahead and close out what has been a fruitful trading week for options with one final idea. We’re going to zero in on NFLX Weekly $93.50-95.50 Calls.  We’ll need to see NFLX hold above its premarket low of 93.49 on any pullbacks for our interest in these contracts to remain in force, and if this week’s market-wide recovery trend perpetuates, it shouldn’t have much trouble doing so.

*As usual, we’ll warn our less-seasoned readers that messing with weekly options contracts on a Friday is an inherently risky proposition for expert traders only!

Five Star Quality Care, Inc. FVE

We also want to provide a quick update on a stock we tagged for observation in yesterday’s watchlist. While the intraday gains amounted to a modest 14%, we’re going to be keeping an eye peeled for further activity as we head into the long holiday weekend.

If the stock can maintain support above the current 50DMA of 2.13 on any forthcoming consolidations, it will continue to hold our interest.

Bottom Watchlist:

The following will be on our radars as possible bottom-plays: Sipp Industries, Inc. SIPC  &  Guided Therapeutics, Inc. GTHP

Extended Watchlist:
TPIV, SFEG, AAU, WING, GFI

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HERO, Options Update & More

Hercules Offshore, Inc. HERO

We had HERO figured for a bottom-watch play, and began mentioning the stock a couple of weeks ago for the first time since last summer. After seeing a significant gap-down to start the week, the stock has responded by posting a couple green candles on the chart.

HERO is trending off of a multiple bottom, and is now going to be on our list as a potential momentum play. From the included chart below you can plainly see the kind of volatile swings the stock is capable of making. We’ll be on the lookout for it to first fill in that gap, followed by a breach of the 200DMA. Should that occur, we could see another series of gains resembling those from February and March.

Computer Sciences Corp. CSC – Options Update

Next we want to update our readers on an extended-term options idea we submitted last Wednesday. Despite already seeing significant intraweek moves from contracts within our highlighted range of CSC 06/17 $44-48 Calls, yesterday brought along further opportunities. The gains perhaps weren’t of the magnitude that we’re accustomed to seeing in many of our options plays, but they were solid chances for profits nonetheless:

$45 Calls – Range: 3.20-4.20 – Max Gain: 31%
$47 Calls – Range: 1.65-2.80 – Max Gain: 70%
$48 Calls – Range: 1.25-2.20 – Max Gain: 76%

CafePress, Inc. PRSS

Lastly, another quick idea to add to the mix in PRSS. Aside from the chart being technically attractive, trading near relative lows at a double-bottom, we’re also interested in PRSS for the Form-4 that was filed last week showing a major investor picking up a sizable chunk to add to his position (>>View Filing). We’re going to add this to our own working watchlist and observe it closely in sessions to come.

Extended Watchlist:
TDCP, AJBI, GTHP, GOVX, IMUC

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: KGNX, HERO Recaps & More

KollagenX Corp. KGNX

We tagged KGNX in yesterday morning’s premarket report, and were met with a fantastic intraday gain opportunity from this subpenny runner that has brought us good chances to gain in the past. (We’d initially tagged it coming off of its 52-week lows in March)

Yesterday we observed a low of .00189 in the stock before it took off, running hard and reaching a high of .0037 shortly before 1PM. That marked an upswing of 96% on close to nine times the monthly average trading volume, and KGNX closed with enough strength (.003) to qualify it for further observation as a possible momentum play.

Hercules Offshore, Inc. HERO

Speaking of momentum, that was what led us to feature HERO in yesterday’s report. The stock had already strung together three consecutive sessions of building higher lows, and it continued that trend for us with a solid performance on the day.

HERO traded in a range from 1.52-1.99, a respectable rise of 31% and it did so on a little over three times the 3-month average volume. This morning we’re seeing a slight gap-up in HERO to a premarket high of 2.15, which extends our observed range to an overnight gain of 42% We’ll keep tracking this one for a potential continuation of momentum as well.

Fresh Options Idea

Target Corp. TGT – Target is tumbling in the premarket this morning on disappointing sales and Q2 guidance, leading us to submit a bearish idea for the stock’s options chain. We’re going to put TGT Weekly $69-65 Puts on our short-term radars today. We’ll remain interested in these contracts

Extended Watchlist:
GTHP, TRKK, APA, ORMP, FCAU, FAC(Bottom watch)
CBYL(Gap to fill up to 2.25)
