Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GEO Options on a Roll & More

The GEO Group, Inc. – Options Review

GEO has earned itself top billing in our report for the second day running, as the stock continued its rebound yesterday, reaching new highs, and pushing our options ideas deeper into the money. Despite multi-bag gains on Friday, we reasserted our interest in continuing to follow them, and it was definitely the right move.

The GEO 09/16 $20 and 22.50 Calls were the targets we introduced on Friday morning, and our observed gains were extended by a healthy margin yesterday as GEO rose to a high of $25 even during the session.

The $20 Calls traded in a range from 4.00 up to 5.12, an intraday swing of 28% and an total two-day increase over our observed low of 1.61 amounting to 211%

The $22.50 Calls traded up from 2.25 to 3.05 running 36% intraday, and representing an overall increase of 251% from Friday’s low of .87.

As we stated yesterday, these ideas should remain good for as long as GEO sustains this strong rebound pattern.

Best Buy Co. Inc. BBY – Fresh Idea

BBY is flying high in the premarket this morning in the wake of its earnings release which contained a major increase in same-store sales for the quarter.

With the type of activity we’re witnessing early on this morning, we’re going to want to signal a range of options calls to observe here as well. Our specific contracts of interest are going to be the BBY Weekly 36.50-39 Calls, which will hold our interest provided that BBY maintains support in the low $36-range on any pullbacks.

First Acceptance Corp. FAC – Bottom-Watch

We’re going to take this opportunity to declare a bottom-watch for FAC, which is currently feeling out its lowest prices in a month after peeling back off of a massive run in late July.

On the chart below, we’ve highlighted the channel between recent swing lows at 1.01 and 1.15 as the area where we’d like to see a bottom-bounce occur, and we’ll have FAC on our radars in the days ahead for the possibility of that occurring.

Extended Watchlist:
DATA, WPFH, STML, TGD, HEB, BCCI(Potential Bottom)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: KGNX, HERO Recaps & More

KollagenX Corp. KGNX

We tagged KGNX in yesterday morning’s premarket report, and were met with a fantastic intraday gain opportunity from this subpenny runner that has brought us good chances to gain in the past. (We’d initially tagged it coming off of its 52-week lows in March)

Yesterday we observed a low of .00189 in the stock before it took off, running hard and reaching a high of .0037 shortly before 1PM. That marked an upswing of 96% on close to nine times the monthly average trading volume, and KGNX closed with enough strength (.003) to qualify it for further observation as a possible momentum play.

Hercules Offshore, Inc. HERO

Speaking of momentum, that was what led us to feature HERO in yesterday’s report. The stock had already strung together three consecutive sessions of building higher lows, and it continued that trend for us with a solid performance on the day.

HERO traded in a range from 1.52-1.99, a respectable rise of 31% and it did so on a little over three times the 3-month average volume. This morning we’re seeing a slight gap-up in HERO to a premarket high of 2.15, which extends our observed range to an overnight gain of 42% We’ll keep tracking this one for a potential continuation of momentum as well.

Fresh Options Idea

Target Corp. TGT – Target is tumbling in the premarket this morning on disappointing sales and Q2 guidance, leading us to submit a bearish idea for the stock’s options chain. We’re going to put TGT Weekly $69-65 Puts on our short-term radars today. We’ll remain interested in these contracts

Extended Watchlist:
GTHP, TRKK, APA, ORMP, FCAU, FAC(Bottom watch)
CBYL(Gap to fill up to 2.25)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BP Options Review & More

BP plc (BP) – Options Review

Our fresh options idea from yesterday morning’s premarket report was was to track the BP Weekly $32-33.50 Calls for possible daytrade opportunities and we got just what we were looking for.

The strength of the company Q1 earnings report kicked the PPS up high enough to produce some solid moves out of each play in our highlighted range of contracts:

$32 Calls – Trading Range: 1.20-1.56 – Max Gain: 30%
$32.50 Calls – Trading Range:  .79-1.10 – Max Gain: 39%
$33 Calls– Trading Range:  .49-.73  – Max Gain: 49%
$33.50 Calls – Trading Range: .20-.39 – Max Gain: 95%

BP closed at its highs and traded even higher in the post-market, and we’re seeing a gap-up in the premarket this morning as well. We’ll look for a continuation of momentum into today’s session, wherein those options could be in line for further gains. In addition to watching those contracts, we may look to roll our strike price up in the event BP can surge past the $34-mark.

Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. SRPT – Fresh Idea

SRPT caught our eye this morning as were searching for bottom-bounce candidates, as the stock fits the bill to a tee. After being beaten back to new 52-week lows this week, the stock posted a strong recovery session yesterday that has us thinking about potential options plays.

We’re going to monitor SRPT to see if it can test yesterday’s swing high of 11.50. We’re going to be tracking the activity in the SRPT Weekly $10.50 and $11 Calls.

Bonus Bottom-Watchlist:

That same search yielded a couple of other stocks trading at or near their own 52-week lows. We always like a good bounce-play and these are the types of stocks that most often produce them.

Active Power, Inc. ACPW took a pounding into heavily oversold territory yesterday after a sizable gap-down, so we’ll be watching that over the next few sessions for a possible snap-back.

First Acceptance,Inc FAC rebounded a little after setting a new annual low yesterday as well, so we’ll look for possible signs of a continued recovery there.

Extended Watchlist:
WRES, GEVO, UNXL, CRC, DWA(Buyout talks)
