Across-the-Board Options Sweep & More

A Solid Options Sweep:

We went all out in yesterday morning ‘s report with options ideas in four chains. We’re finally back into the swing of another earnings season and it feels great! We selected three off of the daily earnings calendar, and went with some SPY calls as well, and we were not disappointed in any regard.

All four of our designated targets saw appreciable intraday runs. Those were the SPY 10/20 $448-450 Calls, the NFLX Weekly $635-640 Calls, the TRV Weekly $155 Calls, and the STLD 11/19 $60-65 Calls. Some of the gains were rather modest, but they all went green for us, and here were their intraday ranges and total possible gains:

Atea Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AVIR – Recap:

Also in yesterday morning’s report was a tag of AVIR, which gapped down hard in the the premarket and immediately set about filling that gap.

The stock traded in a daily range from a low of 10.76, cruised back to as high as 16.63 (+55%) and did so on massive volume to the tune of more than 34X the daily average. We will continue to track its activity under these interesting circumstances in upcoming sessions.

GM, GIS Options Recaps & More

Options Updates:

We continue plugging away at attempting to find options plays despite having so few earnings reports to rely on as fuel, and yesterday our big name target was GM. Were were observing the GM Weekly $58-59 Calls with the stock in the midst of a pretty impressive run that has generally persisted for roughly the past month.

The stock ran pretty good out of the starting gate yesterday, and that activity allowed for some decent gain opportunities in the pair of contract sets that we were tracking. Here were the intraday runs they recorded:

GM Weekly $58-59 Calls
$58: .94-1.72 (+83%)
$59: .55-1.10 (+100%)
_____

For an additional update, we’ve been tracking the GIS 10/15 $55-50 Calls since the morning of September 22nd, and we wanted to swing back around to report on the new highs we witnessed in those plays. Here are the ranges and total possible gains that were registered there in recent sessions:

GIS 10/15 $55-60 Calls
$55: 3.80-6.95 (+83%)
$57.50: 1.70-4.50 (+165%)
$60: .60-2.15 (+258%)

eXp World Holdings Inc. EXPI – Options Review:

Yesterday morning, we highlighted the performance of our options ideas in EXPI that we had initially targeted on Wednesday, the EXPI 03/19 $50-52.50 Calls. After posting double-bag moves, we mentioned that we expected the bullish activity to continue, based on the stock’s behavior in the premarket.

In addition to the EXPI 03/19 $50-52.50 Calls from last week, we extended our target range by rolling up to include the EXPI 03/19 $55 Calls. Not only did the updated strike instantly yield double-bag gains on the day, but our preexisting targets tacked on some stellar new highs which has extended our observed trading range by a considerable amount.

The following numbers are the total swings made by the $50-52.50’s since last week, and the single-session surge recorded yesterday by the $55’s:

EXPI 03/19 $50-55 Calls
$50:  2.16-8.20 (+280%)
$52.50: 1.45-6.10 (+321%)
$55:  2.10-4.60 (+119%)

XL Fleet Corp. XL – Recap:

It was also this past Wednesday morning that we flagged some longer-term contracts in the XL options chain, with the XL 05/21 $12.50-15 Calls. Despite just a few sessions passing since then, this bottom bouncing stock has continued to add modest gains daily.

We already have seen some notable moves in those plays with more than two month remaining until expiration. We’ll be interested to see where they go from here in the event of continued northward movement in XL. Here are the gains we’ve tracked so far:

XL 05/21 $12.50-15 Calls
$50:  2.45-3.50 (+43%)
$52.50: 2.00-3.00 (+50%)
$55:  1.70-2.64 (+55%)
