Tuesday’s Runners, 4 Fresh Ideas

Good Start to the Short Week:

We got things off to a pretty good start on this holiday-shortened week, despite only formulating a couple of possible options plays for our readers. The two targets that we did highlight in our premarket report, certainly put up some very solid numbers across the board, with multibag gain potential in each set of contracts mentioned.

Those were the NVDA Weekly $547.50-550 Calls, and the GS Weekly $377.50-382.50 Calls, and and here were the intraday upswings they posted for Tuesday’s session:

NVDA Weekly $547.50-550 Calls
$547.50:
 9.54-22.70 (+140%)
$550: 7.95-20.65 (+160%)
_____

GS Weekly $377.50-382.50 Calls

$377.50: 3.63-8.75 (+141%)
$380: 2.35-7.13 (+203%)
$382.50: 1.73-5.40 (+212%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 01/17 $474-473 Puts*
NVDA Weekly $562.50-565 Calls
SCHW Weekly $64-62.50 Puts

We also want to enter a potential longer-term play on Spirit Airlines into the mix, which is getting crushed after a judge blocked its merger with Jet Blue. Even if it continues to fall a bit, we’re taking the position that a snap-back may occur shortly thereafter, so we’re going to track the SAVE 02/16 $5.00-7.50 Calls in the days and weeks ahead.

*Only experienced traders should attempt to trade options contracts on their day of expiration

Ending the 4-Day Week with 4 Fresh Options Ideas

Good Environment for Options:

We’re wrapping up another solid trading week today, and it certainly was an uncharacteristically bullish one when compared to the typical holiday-shortened week. The markets ripped into the close again yesterday, and that provided an extra boost for some of the options plays we’ve been tracking.

From yesterday morning’s report, the DRI 07/15 $120-125 Calls and the KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls made instant moves for us despite still having an additional three weeks before expiring, while the WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls from Wednesday’s premarket newsletter continued their run and tacked on some new highs as well. Here are the overall moves and total possible gains on those targets:

DRI 07/15 $120-125 Calls
$120: 1.85-2.40 (+30%)
$125: .80-1.10 (+38%)
_____

KBH 07/15 $27-28 Calls
$27:
1.75-2.70 (+54%)
$28: 1.25-2.01 (+61%)
_____

WGO 07/15 $45-50 Calls
$45:
3.00-7.00 (+143%)
$50: .95-3.40 (+258%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
FDX Weekly $232.50-237.50 Calls*
SPY 06/24 $379-381 Calls*
BZ 07/15 $25-30 Calls
MO 07/15 $45-46 Calls

*Trading options on their day of expiration can carry a heightened level of risk and should only be attempted by seasoned traders.

Solid Options Gainers

Options Winners

Yesterday’s premarket report was all about the huge options gains (Up to 8000%+) that we saw in our SPY calls from Friday, and as we usually do, we targeted some more fresh ideas to start off the week.

Our success continued to blossom with all three of our selections producing multi-bag opportunities on the day.

Sticking with SPY Puts

Solid Hits on the SPY

We try to formulate new options ideas for a given session as often as we can without forcing the issue, and on most days we produce at least one. Yesterday, we designated our sole set of new contracts to watch as the SPY Weekly $250-248 Puts, and thanks to a painful day for the markets, we were afforded the chance to score some pretty nice intraday gains.

Two out of three of those strike points translated into instant double-bag opportunities, with the third falling just 1% short of that mark, providing the following moves on the day:

SPY Weekly $250-248 Puts
$250: 4.39-8.73 (+99%)
$249: 4.00-8.10 (+103%)
$248: 3.65-7.50 (+105%)

Fresh Ideas:
SPY Weekly $244-242 Puts
WBA Weekly $44-45 Calls
KMX Weekly $50-55 Calls

CytoDyn, Inc. CYDY

We began tracking CYDY on Tuesday morning, and in addition to making a nominal move on the chart, the company has also put out some coronavirus related press in the couple days. One of the company’s investigational drugs which is about to enter Phase 2b/3 trials, has demonstrated a promising level of  efficacy among severe COVID-19 patients.

The stock itself has run from 2.65-3.09 in the past couple of sessions, which marks a move of just 17% but we’re going to be interested to continue tracking its performance in light of the company’s announcements.

VANCOUVER, Washington, April 02, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — CytoDyn Inc. (OTCQB: CYDY), (“CytoDyn” or the “Company”), a late-stage biotechnology company developing leronlimab (PRO 140), a CCR5 antagonist with the potential for multiple therapeutic indications, announced today that the three-day effect of leronlimab in eight severely ill COVID-19 patients demonstrated a significant improvement in several important immunologic bio-markers.  Patient test data reveals improvement in cytokines, IL-6, and a trend toward the normalization of the CD4/CD8 ratio. Coronavirus Watchlist & More

Todos Medical, Ltd. TOMDF

The see-saw of market volatility persists with no end in sight. Traditional investing has become a fool’s errand in many, if not most, cases. The kind of opportunistic short term trading that we do is relatively intact, with the right targets and scenarios.

In this case, we caught TOMDF’s coronavirus news in the premarket yesterday, stating that the company had secured distribution agreements for testing kits in both the US and Isreal. After including it in our extended watchlist, the stock managed a very nice intraday gain. It traded up from a low of  0413, and reached a high of .08, which works out to an intraday upswing of 94%

Coronavirus Watchlist

While we do focus primarily on quick strike opportunities, it’s also worth it to mention a few plays that represent products and services that are high demand at the present time due to the fallout from COVID-19. If the report from the UK’s highly respected Imperial College is accurate, this global health crisis is only in its beginning stages, and will get much, much worse in the months ahead.

While neither these, nor any other plays are “corona-proof”, the effects may weigh less heavily on these stocks and those like them:
